Shauna in Pokémon Adventures

In Pokémon Adventures, Shauna is an aspiring Furfrou groomer. Additionally, she is childhood friends with X, Y, Tierno, and Trevor. She is first seen talking to Y after a failed attempt at getting a depressed X to come out of his house. Although she finds it hard to believe Y's efforts will produce any results, Shauna notes that she still holds on to the hope that she and her friends will be a happy group once again. Soon after, the Legendary Pokémon Xerneas and Yveltal appear and cause havoc in Vaniville Town while battling each other. Although Y manages to get everyone to safety with her Rhyhorn, Shauna's Furfrou was sent flying during the commotion and was lost. As the five group together, Shauna states that she intends on finding her missing Furfrou. The group then sets off on their adventure as friends once again.

The group travels to Aquacorde Town to rest at an inn for the night. The inn turns out to be a Team Flare trap, and the innkeeper traps Shauna, Trevor, Tierno, and Y inside while Aliana and Mable steal Kogaru while X is not looking. Y manages to escape and informs X of the current situation. X manages to beat Aliana and Mable while freeing Shauna, Trevor, and Tierno from the room they were trapped inside. The group runs off and camps for the night in Santalune Forest.

The next day, the group arrives in Santalune City. Y decides to make a set of rules for the group so that they can avoid being attacked by Team Flare. They are approached by Viola, who offers to help them after revealing her position as a Gym Leader. Although Y told them not trust adults, she and the others decide to trust Viola and join her at the Gym. This angers Shauna, who runs off at everyone clearly ignoring what they had said earlier. Shauna encounters a Furfrou in the alleyway, which she mistakenly believes to be her missing one. She quickly realizes it actually belongs to a Furfrou stylist who gives her a sword to help her practice trimming. The stylist reveals himself to actually be Celosia, who used her Aegislash to create an illusion and possess Shauna with a Honedge. Celosia uses the possessed Shauna to infiltrate the Gym at night. When everyone is not looking, she steals Garu's Kangaskhanite and hands it to Celosia. Y and Viola discover this and try to stop them, but Viola is knocked out after she throws Y out of the way of an attack. Celosia uses Shauna to attack her friends, but the strain of the possession causes Shauna to fall unconscious.

Once Celosia is defeated and forced to run away, Shauna is taken back to the Santalune Gym. Upon awakening, Y berates Shauna for ignoring the rules she had previously told her about, causing Shauna to break down crying as she apologizes. The two share a hug as they apologize to each other while crying.
