Oleana (Japanese: オリーヴ Olive) is Rose's secretary. She also serves as the vice-president of his company, Macro Cosmos. Previously, she was a researcher and invented the Dynamax Band.[2]

In the core series games

Oleana is first seen by Rose's side at Motostoke Stadium during the Gym Challenge opening ceremony. She later accompanies him at Hulbury, where she urges the player to earn their Water Badge and join the chairman at a local seafood restaurant. Once the player has won the Badge, Oleana will give the player Rose's League Card and repeat her request. Once the player reaches Hammerlocke, Oleana is seen meeting up with Bede. When Bede later threatens to destroy the ancient mural at Stow-on-Side, Oleana appears with Chairman Rose and revokes Bede's Gym Challenger status.

After the player has cleared the Champion Cup semi-finals, Oleana tasks a League Staff member with keeping the key to Rose Tower away from the player and Hop, wanting to keep Chairman Rose undisturbed during his conversation with Leon. Once the player and Hop reach the top floor of Rose Tower, Oleana challenges the player to a battle in an effort to stop them from reaching Rose.

During the climax of Pokémon Sword and Shield, Oleana requests the player's help in stopping Rose's plan of using Eternatus to bring about the second Darkest Day. During the post-game, she can be found doing voluntary community service at the Galar Mine, giving the player Rose's rare League Card.

After the player has completed The Crown Tundra storyline, Oleana can be found at the Old Cemetery at nighttime, having come to the Crown Tundra to investigate rumors about Rose having been seen there. Upon learning that the person in question was actually Peony and not Rose, she is momentarily angered but quickly calms down before leaving.

Pokémon the Series

Oleana debuted in Sword and Shield, Slumbering Weald!, where she and Rose visited the Galar Energy Plant, just as a burst of Galar particles escaped from the reactor core. She pushed for more energy to be injected into the core, eventually prompting Eternatus to awaken. In the meantime, she had one of her subordinates follow Goh and Sonia, who were trying to learn more about the Darkest Day legend.

In Sword and Shield: "From Here to Eternatus!", Oleana stopped Goh from reaching Rose, but she lost in the battle that unfolded inside the Hammerlocke Stadium foyer in Sword and Shield... The Legends Awaken!. She returned to her boss's side, joining him in a helicopter to watch Eternatus transform into its Eternamax form and take on Ash, Goh, and Leon. Following Eternatus's defeat and capture, she went into hiding with Rose.

Oleana briefly reappeared in Partners in Time!, where she, alongside Rose, witnessed Eternatus restoring and stabilizing the Dynamax energy at Wyndon Stadium during Ash and Leon's battle in the Masters Eight Tournament finals.

Young Oleana

In Pokémon: Twilight Wings, Oleana is a major recurring character. She debuted in Letter, where she accompanied Rose during his visit to a children's hospital.

In Early-Evening Waves, Oleana was with Rose when he approached Nessa. Later, Nessa visited her, and told her to tell Rose that she would be successful both as a Gym Leader and as a model.

In Assistant, Oleana led Macro Cosmos while Chairman Rose was away for the day, eventually reuniting with him by the evening. Her past as a laboratory assistant was also explored.

In Sky, Oleana informed Chairman Rose that Leon hadn't arrived to the stadium yet. She was later seen with Chairman Rose on the field, waiting for the match to start.

In The Gathering of Stars, Oleana was seen doing volunteer work at Galar Mine.

GOTCHA!

Oleana briefly appeared in GOTCHA!.

In the manga

Oleana in Pokémon Adventures

Pokémon Adventures

Oleana debuted in Crackle!! Practice Battle. She was first seen at Rose Tower, where Rose received a call from Leon about endorsing Henry Sword and Casey Shield for the Gym Challenge.

In Toasty!! Battle Against Toxapex, Oleana appeared with Rose at Hulbury, where they met Henry and Marvin. Seeing potential in Henry, Rose invited the boy to dinner at the Captain's Table restaurant, only to be dragged away by Oleana, who noted he didn't have free time to spare. Later, she took Henry and Sonia to meet with Rose, whose insistence on having dinner forced her to add it to his schedule. Noting Sonia's investigation of the Dynamax phenomenon, Rose suggested she may find hints about it in Galar's history. He had Oleana make arrangements for Sonia to be allowed access to the vault in Hammerlocke.

In Teary!! The Voice of the Master, Oleana and Rose stopped Bede from destroying the Stow-on-Side mural to obtain Wishing Stars. Rose reprimanded Bede for damaging an important piece of Galar's history and punished him with disqualification from the Gym Challenge.

In Stealth!! Infiltrate the Energy Plant, after an earthquake shook Hammerlocke, Raihan went into the Energy Plant to see if Rose was safe. There, he found Oleana and Rose, who explained the shaking was due to an experiment with Wishing Stars. They hoped to find a new source of electricity to prevent an energy crisis a thousand years away. Raihan agreed to keep what he learned secret and left without issue, though Oleana noted he didn't believe their explanation. They then prepared to feed the Wishing Stars to an Eternatus they held captive.

In Chomp!! It's Dracovish, Oleana was revealed to have sent a group Macro Cosmos's to deal with a Dracovish that suddenly Dynamaxed due to the Energy Plant incident. When they reported their failure, an annoyed Oleana informed Rose of the situation and ordered the team to stand back in Wyndon.

In Rumble!! The Horrific Darkest Day, after discovering Rose was working together with Sordward and Shielbert, the Gym Leaders gathered at Rose Tower to find out if Rose intended on bringing harm to Galar. Oleana faced the Gym Leaders to prevent them from getting inside, but Henry, Casey, Bede, Hop, and Marnie managed to sneak by. Rose wasn't in the building, but appeared on a video screen, where he revealed his plan to release Eternatus and restart the Darkest Day, thus ensuring the safety of Galar's future. Power Spot lights began appearing all over the region, causing Pokémon to start Dynamaxing at random.

In Shock!! Chairman Rose's Plan, after Sordward and Shielbert failed to defeat Eternatus and prevent the Darkest Day from going out of control, Oleana was ordered by Rose to begin plan B. While Rose faced Eternatus with his Gigantamax Copperajah, Oleana asked Henry's group to help assist Rose. They agreed and went to the summit, where they found Rose had already lost. While Oleana and Bede tended to Rose, Leon's group took Eternatus down, only for it to get back up, change into its Eternamax form, and quickly overwhelm everyone. The others were saved by Zacian and Zamazenta, but when the two Pokémon tried using the Rusted Sword and Shield, Eternatus snatched the artifacts and Henry out of the air.

In Oh My!! The Disappearance of Henry, Zacian and Zamazenta struck Eternatus with a double Giga Impact, causing a massive explosion of energy and light. Once the light cleared, Henry, Zacian, Zamazenta, Eternatus had all vanished. Casey and Marvin reviewed footage of the incident and discovered something teleporting Henry away just as Zacian, Zamazenta, and Eternatus clashed. By tracking samples of the poison on Henry's body and the material of the rusted artifacts, they found matching signals on both the Isle of Armor and the Crown Tundra. With no idea where Henry ended up, Oleana sent Casey, Marvin, Bede, Hop, and Marnie to both locations.

In PASS34, she received news that the antidote has been collected and send a Macro Cosmos's employee to collect. Later in PASS35, she checked in on the hospitalized Gym Leaders along with Sonia.

In PASS39, she was seen monitoring the situation with some Macro Cosmos employees after the Darkest Day has restarted. In PASS40, she entrusted the situation of the Darkest Day to the recovered Gym Leaders and Leon to handle.

In PASS41, she called Leon to inform Eternatus is being protected by Gigantamax Sandaconda, Gigantamax Kingler, Gigantamax Orbeetle due to the interference of other nobles who are taking advantage of the chaos to demand the release of Sordward and Shieldbert.

In PASS42, she contacted the nobles to try to persuade them to surrender to no avail due to their arrogance and stubborness. She later informed Casey that Henry started ascending towards Eternatus at the summit on the back of Zacian.

In PASS43, after Eternatus had finally been defeated, Oleana and several Macro Cosmos's arrived to seal it back underneath the Energy Plant. Casey suggested that instead of keeping Eternatus locked up against its will, that they try to uncover a way for it to live in Galar peacefully which she agrees to do so.
