Rock Tomb (Japanese: がんせきふうじ Rock Seal) is a damage-dealing Rock-type move introduced in Generation III.

It is:

Effect

Generation III to V

Rock Tomb deals damage and lowers the opponent's Speed by one stage. It has a power of 50, 10 PP, and 80% accuracy.

Rock Tomb can be used as the second move of a Pokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining 3 bonus appeal points if Rock Throw was used in the previous turn.

Generation VI onwards

Rock Tomb's power changed to 60, its PP changed to 15, and its accuracy changed to 95%.

Generation IX

Pokémon Legends: Z-A

In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Rock Tomb drops a rock at a fixed distance in front of the user. If the rock hits a target, it deals damage and reduces the target's movement speed.

If it does not hit a target, the rock will instead remain in place as an obstacle that can block pathing and projectile attacks. The rock can be targeted, and will be destroyed upon being hit by any attacking move.

Rock Tomb deals damage and lowers the target's Travel Speed (previously Movement Speed) by one stage. In the Explorers series, the description of the move was mistranslated and erroneously states that the move only has a chance to lower the Movement Speed.
