Travel Speed (Japanese: いどうそくど Travel Speed), referred to as Movement Speed prior to Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, is a mechanic of the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series that governs the number of movement actions a Pokémon may take in a given turn.

Normally, Pokémon may take only one action in a given turn; however, Pokémon may have their Travel Speeds boosted or dropped. A Pokémon may move or wait on one additional tile per turn for each boost in Travel Speed. Conversely, a Pokémon can only move every two turns if there is a drop in Travel Speed. A Pokémon can reach up to three boosts or one drop in Travel Speed; the infliction of one polarity will reduce the other, and each individual boost and drop has its own duration. Additionally, for as long as a Pokémon is Paralyzed, it suffers from a speed drop.

Prior to Gates to Infinity, boosts in Movement Speed last between 4-5 full turns, while drops last 3-4 full turns. Various effects permanently increase speed by one level, such as snowy weather (for Ice-type Pokémon), the Ability Speed Boost, the Time Tripper IQ skill, or Deoxys Speed Forme's boost, and some exclusive items grant Movement Speed boosts when activated.

The leader Pokémon is also affected differently by speed boosts and drops. When the leader applies a speed boost to themselves or their teammates, they can immediately act again and perform two attacks in a single turn, effectively refreshing their turns; a similar effect occurs when the leader slows an enemy. Other Pokémon are additionally limited to attacking or using an item every other turn when slowed, while the leader is not. Prior to Gates to Infinity, however, the order in which actions are carried out appears to be inconsistent and depending on how exactly the Pokémon acts with boosted Movement Speed, it can result in oddities, such as the Pokémon losing two speed boosts at once or performing two attacks in a row outside of the initial boost turn.

In Gates to Infinity onward, the leader Pokémon cannot use a second attack or item with a Travel Speed boost, though previous effects such as turn-refreshing still apply. This is especially noticeable when using a speed-boosting move in an Alliance, or when linking an attacking move with a speed-boosting move such as Agility, as they allow a follow-up action afterward. Boosts and drops in Travel Speed respectively last 6 and 3 full turns, or 5 turns each in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX. If the leader is switched with one action remaining in a speed boost, the turn will advance.

A drop in Travel Speed is considered a status condition and not a stat reduction (as even after Super Mystery Dungeon introduced the Speed stat to the series, Travel Speed retained its function, with the traditional Speed working completely different). Any change in Travel Speed will not be removed by stepping on a Wonder Tile, and any moves that affect stat alterations (such as Haze) do not affect Travel Speed. Abilities such as Guts and Shed Skin are affected by Travel Speed drops, and the exclusive item for Regigigas is able to negate the effect of Slow Start.
