Assurance (Japanese: ダメおし Make Sure) is a damage-dealing Dark-type move introduced in Generation IV.
Generations IV and V
Assurance inflicts damage and will deal double damage if the target has already received damage on the turn it is used. This includes self-inflicted and indirect damage, such as damage from a Life Orb, recoil damage from Brave Bird, or confusion damage.
Generation VI onward
Assurance's power changed from 50 to 60.

In other games
All Pokémon in front of the user will be hit by Assurance. When the user hits a blown-back foe, Assurance does more damage.

Orange squares indicate spaces that are hit.
Red squares indicate the knockback on hit Pokémon.
A blue square indicates the user's position after performing the move.
