Flip Turn (Japanese: クイックターン Quick Turn) is a damage-dealing Water-type move introduced in Generation VIII.

Effect

Flip Turn deals damage and then switches the user out.

The user will not be switched out if the user is the only Pokémon in the party that is able to battle, if Flip Turn triggers an opponent's Wimp Out or Emergency Exit, or if using Flip Turn ends the battle. Flip Turn will not switch the user out if the user is holding a Red Card or the target is holding an Eject Button.

If the player's Pokémon knocks out an opposing Trainer's Pokémon by using Flip Turn, the replacement that the player sends out will not be considered to have battled for experience purposes, but if it holds an Amulet Coin or Luck Incense that item will be taken into account when calculating prize money. In switch-style battles, the player will still have the ability to switch Pokémon between opponent's Pokémon fainting.

Flip Turn switches the user out even if it is under the effect of Ingrain, Arena Trap, Magnet Pull, Shadow Tag, Mean Look, or Block.

Generation VIII

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Flip Turn cannot be selected in a battle.
