Storm Throw (Japanese: やまあらし Mountain Storm) is a damage-dealing Fighting-type move introduced in Generation V. In Generation VIII, it is the signature move of Throh.

Generation V

Storm Throw inflicts damage and will always result in a critical hit unless the target has Battle Armor, Shell Armor, or is under the effects of Lucky Chant.

Generation VI

Storm Throw's power changed from 40 to 60.

Storm Throw can also be used as part of a Contest Spectacular combination with the user gaining an extra three appeal points if any of the moves Entrainment, Hold Hands, or Play Nice was used in the prior turn.

Games Description
The user strikes the target with a fierce blow. This attack always results in a critical hit.

  • All Pokémon capable of learning Storm Throw are capable of having the Ability Mold Breaker, which will negate the protection from critical hits normally provided by Battle Armor and Shell Armor. This makes Lucky Chant the only guaranteed way to prevent Storm Throw from getting a critical hit.
