Energy Ball (Japanese: エナジーボール Energy Ball) is a damage-dealing Grass-type move introduced in Generation IV. It was TM53 in Generations IV through VII and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl . In Pokémon Sword and Shield, it is TR65.
Effect
Generations IV and V
Energy Ball damages the opponent and has a 10% chance of lowering the target's Special Defense by one stage.
Generation VI onwards
Energy Ball's power was increased from 80 to 90. Additionally, it does not affect targets with Bulletproof.
Generation VIII
Pokémon Legends: Arceus
Energy Ball's base power has been lowered back to 80. It also has a 20% chance of lowering the target's defensive stats for three turns.
