Nemona (Japanese: ネモ Nemo) is the rival in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and serves as the president of the academy's student council.
In the core series games
Nemona is a Champion-ranked Pokémon Trainer and serves as a reliable guide for the player. She has an energetic personality, and loves Pokémon battles, which she excels at. However, she's not as good at throwing Poké Balls.[2] She, along with the player, is enrolled in the general studies track of the academy, with her homeroom teacher being Jacq.
Nemona is first met in Cabo Poco, where she introduces herself as the player's neighbor. Despite being a Champion-ranked Trainer, she chooses to raise a new Pokémon team alongside the player to be more on their level. After having her first battle with the player, Nemona escorts them to Mesagoza and gives them a tutorial on Pokémon Centers and the Terastal phenomenon. Once the player starts studying at the academy, Nemona urges them to challenge Gyms around Paldea so they can challenge the Pokémon League. Along the way, Nemona will occasionally appear to gauge the player's progress by battling them. Once the player has passed the Champion Assessment, Nemona will challenge them to one more battle, where she doesn't hold back. She later accompanies the player, Arven, and Penny on a journey to Area Zero.
Nemona also participates in the Academy Ace Tournament, although she has to manage the admin work when it is held for the first time, she can be battled as a random opponent in subsequent Academy Ace Tournaments.
Pokémon
Nemona uses the starter with a type disadvantage to the one the player chooses. As shown in the game's opening cutscene, she also owns a Combat Breed Paldean Tauros, but she is never seen using it elsewhere. She is also implied to have more Pokémon that are unseen by the player, as she became a Champion prior to her first battle with the player and repeatedly mentions needing to select a perfect team for her battles, and the official website for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet claims that Nemona uses Lechonk and Smoliv, even though she is never seen using either of these Pokémon.[3][4]

Main series
Nemona first appeared in HZ010 while winning a battle against a Trainer. Sometime before meeting Liko and Roy, Nemona came to Artazon to meet with Brassius and discuss his absence from the Artazon Gym. Upon being introduced to the young Trainers, Nemona joined them on a visit to Brassius's art studio to meet the Gym Leader. During the meeting, when Roy spoke about the Black Rayquaza, Brassius kicked everyone out of his house. While discussing why Brassius acted the way he did, Liko came to the conclusion that Brassius might have an artist's block.
Afterwards, Nemona took Liko and Roy to the Sunflora Lawn and decided to group as many Sunflora to create inspiration for Brassius again. When they got together to see how many they managed to group, Nemona showed that she managed to gather fifteen Sunflora. After Brassius saw the group's determination and his Dolliv's insistence, he presented Nemona, Liko, and Roy with a work based on his vision of Rayquaza.
While Brassius challenged Roy to a battle, Nemona watched it along with Liko. After the battle, she explained the Terastal phenomenon to Roy. At the end, Brassius presented another work of his to the group, one based on an Arboliva.
In HZ011, Nemona accompanied Liko, Roy, and Mollie into Arboliva's forest. Upon arriving, Nemona said goodbye to the group and told Roy that the next time she met them, she would like to have a battle with him.
Character
Nemona is a very friendly and kind person, quickly making friends with Liko and Roy. She also has a huge passion for Pokémon battles, challenging different Trainers as she encounters them on her way to a battle.
As expected from a Champion, Nemona is well respected in the Paldea region. Despite her young age, she is shown to be very knowledgeable about various topics in the Pokémon world, such as the Terastal phenomenon.
