Snarl (Japanese: バークアウト Bark Out) is a damage-dealing Dark-type move introduced in Generation V.
It is:
- TM95 from Generation V to Generation VII.
- TM85 in Pokémon Sword and Shield.
- TM78 in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
- TM030 in Generation IX.
Effect
Snarl deals damage and lowers the Special Attack of all targets hit by one stage. Pokémon with the Ability Soundproof are not affected by this move. Snarl hits all adjacent opponents in Triple Battles.
Snarl will become a Water-type move when used by a Pokémon with the Ability Liquid Voice. If the user is affected by Throat Chop, it will be unable to use this move for two turns.
Snarl will have its power boosted by 30% when used by a Pokémon with the Ability Punk Rock. The damage dealt by Snarl will also be halved when used against a Pokémon with Punk Rock.
If the user is holding a Throat Spray, the item will be consumed and the user's Special Attack stat will raise by one stage.
Snarl cannot be called by Metronome.
Generation VIII
Pokémon Legends: Arceus
Snarl's power has been increased to 60, and it lowers the target's offensive stats for three turns. It can also only hit one target, like all other moves in this game.

Trivia
- Prior to the release of Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, this move had a very unique distribution, being simultaneously a TM and an event-exclusive move due to TM95 not being available yet. Thus the only way to give many Pokémon Snarl at the time was to receive the event Zoroark listed above, then pass down the move via breeding, chain breeding, or Sketch, taking advantage of the fact that TM moves can be passed down. Outside of Volt Tackle, this was the only case where a move that is not an Egg Move required breeding to obtain.
- Snarl is the only variant of Icy Wind that does not lower the target's Speed.
