When this move is boosted with Aeos energy, the user leaps further and will no longer stop in place when hitting an opposing Pokémon, and all opposing Pokémon hit along the leap's path will receive damage and be left unable to act. Upgraded to Play Rough+ when the Pokémon reaches Lv. 13. Upgrade: Increases the length of time opposing Pokémon are left unable to act.

• Prior to Generation VIII, Play Rough was the only physical Fairy-type move, not counting Z-Moves or Max Moves.
  • However, it is the only one that is widely distributed, as Spirit Break is exclusive to Grimmsnarl and Iron Valiant, while Magical Torque cannot be used by the player.
