Charge Beam (Japanese: チャージビーム Charge Beam) is a damage-dealing Electric-type move introduced in Generation IV.

It is:

Effect

Generation IV

Charge Beam deals damage and has a 70% chance of raising the user's Special Attack by one stage.

Generation V to VIII

Due to a glitch, if the user has Serene Grace and is under the effects of the rainbow from the combination of Fire Pledge and Water Pledge, the additional effect chance is calculated as 280%, which overflows[1] and becomes 24%.

Charge Beam can also be used as part of a Contest Spectacular combination, with the user gaining an extra three appeal points if the move Charge was used in the prior turn.
