Character profile

Perrin is a girl who makes her debut in the The Teal Mask expansion of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC. She reappears in The Indigo Disk. Perrin's a skilled photographer from the Sinnoh region, who has won many awards and accolades for her photos. She has an easygoing personality and is very friendly to the player who she affectionately calls "partner." During the events of The Teal Mask, Perrin struggles to find enjoyment in her career and hopes to to meet the Bloodmoon Beast. Her camp set and tent is an old kit previously used by her father. Perrin appears to be ambidextrous, as she holds her camera in her right hand in-game, and with her left hand in her official artwork. During battle, she throws Poké Balls with her left hand.

Perrin is traveler who has been to many regions in the Pokémon world, traveling to Kitakami and the Unova region. She has some knowledge on her homeland, the Sinnoh region, and its past, where it was once known as Hisui.

Perrin's family is mostly unknown, but her father is passively mentioned by her after her camp is set up in the Timeless Woods. She appears to be a distant relative of Diamond Clan leader, Adaman,[a] with whom she shares a striking resemblance to. Adaman's phrase of "time wasted is lost" is passed down throughout this family. She also owns a Hisuian Growlithe who she calls "bud."

Appearance

Reason: Personality and design from her concept art.

Perrin is a tall lanky woman who visually takes after her ancestor, Adaman. She has straight short to mid-length hair that wraps around the right side of her face, with a single strand falling in front of her face. Like Adaman, her hair is a dark navy blue, that gradually shifts to a blonde at the tips, having a shade of green in between. Perrin has large almond-shaped eyes with brown irises with thick navy blue eyebrows resting above, once again, giving the spitting image of Adaman. She has one long eyelash on each eye.

Perrin's outfit consists of a short gray top with no sleeves made with sweater-like material, wearing a white undershirt underneath that wraps around her arms but not her shoulders. Both articles of clothing end at her lower chest, exposing her belly. She wears a thin black choker around her neck, and two similar armbands around her right arm, while her left arm has a white wrist watch. Her small black camera bag goes on her back with a single strap going around the front of her chest like a sash. Perrin owns a pair of light blue and torn up skinny jeans using a black belt to hold them up. Her pockets are lined with a white stripe. The holes are diamond shaped and are seen around her thighs. Her jeans' knees are lined with lighter splotches making them look worn out and indicating that she walks around on her knees while taking pictures frequently. Her giant white sneakers have a gray shoe laces, and padding, put together with pink holes. The soles wrap around Perrin's toes, being white in the front and black in the back, having several divisions. She has loose, but thick black socks with green lines all over them that wrap around her shins.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Website blurb: "Perrin is a camera-loving traveler with an easygoing personality. It seems she’s in search of a certain Pokémon and wants to take a photo of it."

Perrin makes her first appearance in The Teal Mask and can be found in Mossui Town along with her Hisuian Growlithe. She has come to Kitakami to get a photo of a certain Pokémon. Once the player has obtained at least 150 Pokémon in the Kitakami Pokédex, she will battle them to see how strong they are, and then inform them that the Pokémon she's searching for is a special Ursaluna known as the Bloodmoon Beast, which arrived to Kitakami from her homeland of Sinnoh. She tells the player that this Ursaluna has been sighted in Timeless Woods and asks them to meet her there.

In Timeless Woods, the player saves Perrin from a wild Ariados and helps her set up a tent as their temporary photo survey base. In order to find the Bloodmoon Beast, the player and Perrin wait for a foggy night to occur, during which the player needs to photograph ten different Pokémon species around the forest, allowing Perrin to use her Pokémon Searcher device to filter out the presence of every Pokémon in the forest that isn't Ursaluna. While the device does its work, Perrin tells the player how she used to be a successful photographer with awards and prestige, but lately, she's been having a slump, and hopes that getting photos of the Bloodmoon Beast would get her career back on track.

Once Ursaluna has been located, Perrin tries to take a photo of it, but her camera's flash agitates the beast, forcing the player to battle it. After the player has successfully beaten and caught Ursaluna, Perrin rushes back to Mossui Town to get her photos developed. Unfortunately, when the player meets Perrin back in town, she tells them that the photos she took are blurred and out of focus, making them useless. Despite this, however, she has regained her passion for photography thanks to this experience, and rewards the player's help with a Choice Scarf and one of her Hisuian Growlithe before departing, hoping to see the player again someday.

Perrin can later be found again during The Indigo Disk, now working at Blueberry Academy's Terarium as a photographer to get promotional pictures for the academy. She has a hot tip for the player, but decides not to share it with them until they've obtained at least 200 Pokémon in the Blueberry Pokédex, claiming she'll keep on photographing the player catching Pokémon without being noticed. Once the player has reached the target number, Perrin will show them photos of Gouging Fire and Raging BoltS/Iron Boulder and Iron CrownV, two previously unknown Pokémon sighted in Area Zero, and asks the player to find them for her. After the player has caught either one or both of the Paradox Pokémon in question, they can return to Perrin, who takes some photos of them. With both Pokémon shown to her, she rewards the player's efforts with a Sport Ball, before returning to her work.

Pokémon

Perrin's Pokémon take reference to the passage of time, using a Noctowl, a clock-like Pokémon, and Leafeon, paying homage to her ancestor, Adaman, who also used a Leafeon. This and the combination of her owning two Hisuian Growlithe with her mission to find the Bloodmoon Beast, an Ursaluna, may reference Hisui and Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Travels with

Growlithe
Perrin's Growlithe

Perrin is always accompanied with her Hisuian Growlithe, although she does not battle with him. He is the older sibling of the Growlithe she gives the player. Taking pictures of him during the survey mini-game will not count towards the overall count, but Perrin will comment saying she appreciates the photos taken of him. [5]

None of Growlithe's moves are known.

Given to the player

This Hisuian Growlithe is the younger sibling of the Growlithe that Perrin travels around with. She will gift the player with it after catching the Bloodmoon Beast. It is coded to never be Shiny.

If the player later evolves this Hisuian Growlithe, Perrin will notice this and comment on it.
