This is a list of Pokémon by their catch rate, from the highest rate to the lowest. This means that the Pokémon which are easiest to capture are listed first, and the Pokémon that are the hardest to capture are listed last.
In Pokémon Yellow, there are four Pokémon who will have different held items than their Red/Blue counterparts when traded to Generation II. When obtained, the starter Pikachu's "catch rate" value is set to 163, even though in the battle it has a catch rate of 190. This gives it a Light Ball when traded over. Even though wild Kadabra's catch rate values are set to 100, there is a special subroutine that changes its catch rate value to 96 when caught, which give them a TwistedSpoon when traded over. Wild Dragonair's catch rate values are set to 27, (as opposed to 45) which give them a Protein when traded over. Wild Dragonite's catch rate values are set to 9, (as opposed to 45) which give them an Antidote when traded over. Keep in mind that wild Pikachu and Dragonite cannot be obtained in Yellow Version without the use of an external cheating device.
