Sprites
Trivia
- In Pokémon Platinum, Krabby is the one of the few Pokémon not in the Sinnoh Pokédex, and not introduced in Generation IV, to have a new sprite. Meowth, Muk, Oddish, Hitmonlee, Ninetales, Primeape, and Registeel are the others.
- In versions Red, Blue and Green, its sprite is symetrical, like that of Shellder.
Origin
It is based upon a crab.
Name origin
Krabby's name is a misspelling of crabby, which means grouchy or ill-tempered. Its Japanese name is simply crab.
