Shuppet (Japanese: カゲボウズ Kagebouzu) is a Ghost-type Pokémon.
It evolves into Banette starting at level 37.
Biology
Physiology
A Shuppet looks like a gray cloth-covered ball with a point at the tip. Its eyes are oval-shaped, and capable of mesmerizing a human being. They live under the eaves of the homes of vengeful people, so they are not overly pleasant Pokémon.

Special abilities
Shuppet has the basic abilities of a Ghost-type Pokémon. Unlike most Ghost-types however, Shuppet is stronger with using physical attacks than with special ones.

Shuppet feeds on dark emotions, such as vengefulness and envy, in the hearts of people.
In the anime
Shuppet first appeared in Take This House and Shuppet. Max got lost in an abandoned mansion and made friends with a Shuppet that was living there. Max allowed Shuppet to pull pranks to scare the others because he was angry with May.
Shuppet was living in an abandoned mine with several other Ghost Pokémon in Fear Factory Phony. The Ghost Pokémon couldn't stand the partying Psychic Pokémon in the nearby town, so they created a Haunter-like illusion to scare them away.
A Shuppet accompanied the Banette that scared off Meowth in Ghoul Daze!.

Origin
It appears to be a てるてる坊主 teruteru bōzu, a Japanese paper doll resembling a ghost.
Name origin
Shuppet's name seems to be a combination of shadow and puppet. Its Japanese name is a combination of 影 kage, shadow, and てるてる坊主 teruteru bōzu.
