Welcome to Bulbapedia!
the community driven Pokémon encyclopedia
001Bulbasaur.png

Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia about Pokémon to which anyone can contribute. Since its launch in February 2005, it has grown to become one of the largest Pokémon resources on the internet. As part of Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden, this ever-growing wiki is supported by Bulbanews, Bulbagarden Archives, and the Bulbagarden Forums. You're welcome to browse for a while, if you wish, or make an account to start editing pages.

We have 20,855 articles on a range of Pokémon-related topics.

If you have any questions, first see the FAQ page. If this doesn't help, find an active staff member. They'll point you in the right direction.

Have you got yours yet?: Mighty Mewtwo

  • Today is Mewtwo Day! Less than a week after its in-game birthday, Mewtwo is being distributed through the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to English-language Pokémon Black and White cartridges.
  • The distribution begins today, February 12, and continues for two weeks until February 26. However, an unexpected early release has allowed it to be obtained February 10 or 11, depending on the time zone.
  • This is only the second Mewtwo distribution ever — the first was exclusive to Japanese games last year. The Pokémon distributed was virtually identical to this Mewtwo, with the differences only being the OT and ID number.
  • Holding a King's Rock and Premier Ribbon, contained in a Cherish Ball, and with the Ability Pressure, this Mewtwo is at level 70.
  • Mighty Mewtwo, as it is known, boasts the moveset Psystrike/Shadow Ball/Aura Sphere/Electro Ball. Although the latter cannot be learned any other way, and two other moves cannot be obtained until Mewtwo is at very high levels, don't forget the classic Psychic/Recover/Amnesia/Elemental moveset.

Thank you to everyone who filled out an application form for the recent staff drive. We had over 130 Bulbapedia, Bulbanews, and Archives users wanting to be part of the team that keeps the wikis running. That's a huge amount. Obviously we can't hire everybody, but please give a warm welcome to new Bulbapedia Junior Administrators Ataro, Dennou Zenshi, Force Fire, MisterE13, Spriteit, Turtwig A, and Toon Ganondorf. Over on Bulbanews, Water Max and BaileyPlaysPokemon have been selected as new writers, with columnist announcements delayed until the new year.

There's also been a few promotions within the existing wiki staff. Kogoro will now be formally heading Bulbagarden Archives, and Kenji-girl, Maverick Nate, Werdnae, and Zesty Cactus join the re-energized Editorial Board.

Congratulations to those above, and others, on their new roles. And congratulations to you, the humble Bulbapedia editor as well. It is thanks to your hard work that we end the year with over 20,000 articles. That's an increase of over 2,000 pages since this time last year. But the work isn't done yet! In case you hadn't noticed, we're having another Christmas contest this year — the Festive Frontier, where you can win prizes simply for editing. Check it out if you haven't yet, and the other Bulbagarden contests, too. There's something for everyone (although we feel somewhat compelled to emphasize Day 2 of the Twelve Days of Christmas contest...).

Happy holidays!
