Biology
Physiology
Tyrogue are medium-sized Pokémon that resemble people in general shape. However, it is predominently purple in color with a brown bottom and feet which resemble short pants and shoes. There are white lines on it's torso which resemble bandages. It also has these bandages on its wrists. It has three spikes on top of its head which resembles a crest.
Gender differences
Tyrogue is a male-only species with no female counterpart.
Special abilities
While it is a fighting Pokémon, it's fighting skills are somewhat limited as it is. It has not developed it's own fighting style just yet.
Tyrogue has the ability to evolve depending on its stats. If Tyrogue's Attack is higher than its Defense, it will evolve into Hitmonlee. If Tyrogue's Defense is higher than its Attack, it will evolve into Hitmonchan. However, in rare cases, Tyrogue will evolve into a Hitmontop if its Attack and Defense are equal.
Behavior
Tyrogue is famous for its eagerness to compete and fight. No matter how much it loses, it will not quit and will keep on fighting.

Trivia
- Tyrogue and Eevee are the only Pokémon that can evolve into more than two Pokémon.
- Tyrogue is the only baby Pokémon that has a branched evolution.
- Tyrogue and its evolutions are the only male-only Pokémon that do not have a female counterpart.
- Tyrogue's back sprite has never changed its pose. It shares this trait with Ho-Oh. Coincidentally, Tyrogue and Ho-Oh are both Generation II Pokémon, and both have similar cries.
Origin
Name origin
Tyrogue's name is a combination of tyke, meaning child, and rogue, one who is playfully mischievous. It is also possible that the first part of its name is derived from tyro, meaning a beginner, instead of tyke. Its Japanese name is probably a corruption of the English word bulky, an adjective describing something large for its weight.
