Psyshock (Japanese: サイコショック Psycho Shock) is a damage-dealing Psychic-type move introduced in Generation V. It was TM03 from Generation V to Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. It is TR25 in Generation VIII.
Effect
Psyshock inflicts damage. Despite being a special move, Psyshock uses the target's Defense instead of its Special Defense to calculate damage.
Psyshock is still a special move. It uses the user's Special Attack to calculate damage. It activates Mirror Coat (not Counter), has its damage reduced by Light Screen (not Reflect), activates the Maranga Berry (not the Kee Berry), etc.

Pokémon UNITE
In Pokémon UNITE, Psyshock is Espeon's first move and Gardevoir's second move.
Espeon can obtain the move by evolving from Eevee at level 4 and upgrading Swift into it instead of Stored Power. The user materializes psychic projectiles and hurls them at a designated location; dealing damage to enemies hit by the projectiles and decreasing their movement speed for a short time. Orbs start in a horizontal line perpendicular to the user's facing. Orbs continue to fly in the direction once past the target location up until the maximum range of the move. Targets hit by all five projectiles are stunned. When one enemy is hit by a projectile, subsequent projectiles deal 70% less damage. At level 10, the projectiles become faster.
Gardevoir can obtain the move by evolving into Kirlia at level 5 and upgrading Teleport into it instead of Future Sight. The user channels three attacks at the targeted area, damaging enemies. Psyshock's cooldown is reduced each time it hits an enemy. At level 11, each hit of Psyshock also increases the damage of the next hit.

Gothita jumps into the air and puts its arms out in front of it. It then forms a mass of thick light blue, blue, and purple energy and fires it at the opponent. When it hits the opponent, it pushes it back and explodes. Sometimes, the black tuft of hair on its head twitches and glows light purple before using the attack. When this happens, its body flashes light blue, blue, and purple before forming the mass of energy. | |||

Trivia
- Psyshock is an attack that has appeared as the translated name of ねんりき Nenriki on many English trading cards in the Pokémon Trading Card Game since Generation I (starting with Base Set Abra), long before its actualization as a move in Generation V. Its effect induces paralysis.
- Out of the three moves that deal physical damage despite being special-based, Psyshock is the only one that is not the signature move of a Legendary Pokémon.
- Psyshock and Psystrike share their description with each other.
