He is the male counterpart to Taunie, appearing if the player chooses Harmony as their character at the beginning of the game. The two become friends during the story.

Urbain likes to help people and Pokémon, and is skilled at Pokémon battles, although he may come on strong at times. He wears a Mega Ring on his left wrist.

In the core series games

Appearance

Urbain is a young male with fair skin, royal blue eyes, bisque hair, and a standard build. He wears white sweatpants with arrows pointing down printed onto the knees, along with a navy blue t-shirt with white rims, featuring a stylized Poké Ball print on the front. He also dons a beige jacket with navy blue buttons and a top collar. His footwear features pink trainers with blue accents on the sides.

History

Background

Urbain's jacket is a memento from his late mother, who was once a part of Team Flare. He came to Lumiose City searching for his grandmother, and at some point Emma helped him out while he was down on his luck. Urbain met AZ who allowed him to stay at Hotel Z in exchange for working there.

Six months prior to the events of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the first Rogue Mega-Evolved Pokémon, a Pidgeot, was discovered. AZ attempted to quell it with his Floette, but his advanced age prevented him from partaking in a prolonged battle. Urbain stepped in and battled with Floette, defeating the Rogue Mega Pidgeot. Impressed, Vinnie of Quasartico Inc. began entrusting him with some of the company's intelligence on Rogue Mega Evolution. This inspired Urbain to form Team MZ.

Over the following six months, Urbain, the leader of Team MZ, recruited two more members: Naveen, who joined in exchange for studio space after he ran away from his grandma's home; and Lida, who joined in exchange for lodging after she was unable to her pay her former room's rent when her roommate at the time moved on without her.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Urbain meets the player right after they arrive on Lumiose at Gare de Lumiose. He helps the player get their bag back from a Pancham and then helps them out of a battle zone and into Hotel Z to rest, where he offers the player to join Team MZ and save Lumiose.

Trivia

  • Urbain has the same hairstyle as Paxton, the male player character in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
    • The same is also true for his female counterpart, Taunie, who has the same hairstyle as Harmony.
  • Urbain and Taunie are the first rival characters in the core series:
    • To use both of the first partner Pokémon not picked by the player on their teams, as they owned all three prior to the events of Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
    • That the player is not required to win against at any point before the credits.
  • Urbain, Taunie, Korrina, and Emma are the only non-player characters in the core series to have used multiple Mega-Evolved Pokémon in a single battle.
  • Urbain and Taunie, as well as Korrina, are the only non-player characters that have a level 100 Pokémon outside of Hyperspace Lumiose.
    • Furthermore, Urbain and Taunie are the only ones that have a full party composed solely of level 100 Pokémon. As such, they have the highest leveled Pokémon team in the core series games (excluding Trainers battled in Hyperspace Lumiose).
