Appearance
Canari is a young woman with tan complexion and a slim build. She has short shoulder-length hair that she ties into lightning-shaped twin tails using hair ties shaped like Eelektrik's mouth. Her natural hair color is a slightly greenish yellow; the right half of her hair is dyed teal, and the tip of her left twin tail is dyed black.
Canari wears a yellow crop-top jacket over a yellow zipper tube top with black straps; she wears her Key Stone within the zipper. She also wears baggy two-tone teal-and-black trousers, large white platform sneakers from In the Zone, and a black and yellow cloth face mask. She stores her Rotom Phone on a case strapped to her left hip, and she also carries a white Tynamo-patterned pouch behind her. She polishes her ring and little finger nails in teal, and the rest of her finger nails in yellow.
Personality

A gamer at heart, Canari enjoys gaming more than almost anything else, and is particularly talented at falling-block puzzle games. Due to her fixation on gaming, she doesn't focus as much on promoting herself or growing her fanbase — her grandfather, Tarragon, is the one responsible for promoting her streams by managing her fan club and handling in-person events. Canari also doesn't really focus on Pokémon battles and rarely talks about Pokémon battles on her streams, although she admits she doesn't hate battling either.
Short-tempered, Canari can get frustrated easily; after losing to the player in the Z-A Royale promotion match, she swears and momentarily throws a fit before she cools down. She also comes off as rather rude to her own grandfather, yelling at him for losing to the player — Tarragon spoiling her doesn't help matters, either.
Unlike her partner Pokémon Eelektross and its love of Lumiose Galettes, Canari doesn't enjoy sweets. She has a close friendship with Gwynn, whom she calls "G-Volt" (Japanese: ムクちゃん Muku-chan).
History
Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Canari is a streamer and gamer popular throughout Lumiose City and the rest of the Kalos region, with Naveen and Gwynn being some of her more notable fans. The player has a glimpse of her while using their Rotom Phone on the train during the introductory cutscene of Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Tarragon mentions Canari by name to the player for the first time during Main Mission 5: "The City in the Shadow of Prism Tower", and gifts them a Red Canari Plush while also promoting his scaffolding obstacle courses.
Canari serves as the player's opponent in their Z-A Royale promotion match to Rank E. Naveen, a well-versed Canatic, is conflicted in helping the player find and battle her, although he later concedes and helps the player infiltrate the Canari Quiz Whiz Contest at the Electrical Substation. Throughout the Canari Quiz Whiz Contest, the player learns various aspects of her. Her Eelektross loves a crunchy, overbaked variety of Lumiose Galette known as Super Lumiose Galette, developing a taste for it after eating it to heal a burn. Canari also played her first games on a laptop owned by Tarragon; Naveen implies a rather tragic story behind this, but it isn't clarified further.
With Naveen's assistance, the player aces the Canari Quiz Whiz Contest and is able to request Canari for a promotion match. After defeating both Tarragon and her, Canari gets upset and blames her grandfather for losing first, but quickly cheers up after Tarragon promises to buy her anything as an apology. She gives TM066 (Volt Switch) to the player after defeating her, along with an Autographed Plush to be given to Naveen as thanks for helping the player. She also declares that she'll put more effort into Pokémon battling from that point on.
Later, the player battles Canari again in order to get information on Gwynn, who has gone missing. Canari also appears in Hotel Richissime as one of the guests invited to Jacinthe's "Le Super-Tournoi de Jacinthe" tournament, and is battled by the player in the first round.
During the game's final act, Canari joins the player in a Multi Battle against Rogue Mega Pokémon while Tarragon and his employees work together to build a path to reach Zygarde. In the credits, Canari is seen during the Lumiose City cleanup effort with the other citizens, helping out by providing entertainment after a moment of major distress.
