Effect
Iron Defense raises the user's Defense stat by two stages.
In the anime
One of the most effective defense moves, the Pokémon hides in its own body, or protects itself with its arms.
Pokémon
Torkoal. Its head and extremities hides in the Pokémon's shell, so the balance when it's hiding is in its belly.
- Used by Flannery's Torkoal in Going, Going, Yawn!.
- Used by Ash's Torkoal from Manectric Charge! to present.
Bronzong. It tucks its arms to its body and a shine goes down its body. Any attack used on it is deflected.
- Used by Lucian's Bronzong in An Elite Meet and Greet! in a battle with Ash's Buizel while it was under Dawn's command.
Bastiodon. The outline of Bastiodon's head glows blue.
- Used by Byron's Bastiodon from Ancient Family Matters! to present.
