Amnesia increases the user's Special by two stages.

Raises the user's Special Defense instead.

Stad Sharply raises the user's Special stat. Also increases protection against special attacks.
Stad2 A move that increases the user's Spcl.Def. stat. It is normally used up to three times.
GSC Sharply raises the user's Spcl.Def.
RSEFRLG Forgets about something and sharply raises Sp. Def.
DPPtHGSS The user temporarily empties its mind to forget its concerns. It sharply raises the user’s Sp. Def stat.

Trivia

  • Although Poliwag and Poliwhirl were able to learn Amnesia in Generation I, they are not able to learn the move in any other generation, and thus they and their evolved forms can only have the move in Generation II if they are traded forward.
  • Despite several Pokédex entries, especially in the anime, said that Psyduck can't remember while using mysterious power, it cannot learn this move until Generation IV, except via a Pokémon Stadium Nintendo event.
