Heat Wave (Japanese: ねっぷう Hot Wind) is a damage-dealing Fire-type move introduced in Generation III.

Heat Wave inflicts damage and has a 10% chance of burning the target. Heat Wave hits both opposing Pokémon in double battles.

  • Unusually, many Flying-type Pokémon can learn Heat Wave by Platinum move tutor, despite it being a Fire-type. However, this may be because Heat Wave's Japanese name contains the word "wind".
