Attract (Japanese: メロメロ Attract) is a non-damaging Normal-type move introduced in Generation II.

Contents

Effect

If the target is the opposite gender of the Pokémon who launched the move, the target becomes infatuated. Pokémon of the same gender are not affected, along with genderless ones.

If used by Mew or Cryogonal, the move will always fail, because they are genderless.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team, all Pokémon were not gendered so Attract simply infatuated the opponent. Unlike in the main games, infatuation can linger on an opponent even after the user has been defeated.

Attract took the same effect as in the main games in later Mystery Dungeon instalments, when genders were introduced.
