Beat Up (Japanese: ふくろだたき Gang Up) is a damage-dealing Dark multistrike move introduced in Generation II. Prior to Generation IV, it was the signature move of Sneasel, but other Pokémon could still inherit it via breeding. It was TM37 in Sword and Shield.

Effect
Effect
Generation II-IV
Beat Up inflicts damage on the target from each conscious Pokémon in the user's party which does not have a non-volatile status. Each attack is typeless and has a base power of 10; damage is determined using each attacking Pokémon's base Attack and the target's base Defense. IVs, EVs, Natures, and type advantages are not considered. Beat Up skips the randomization factor, but does apply same-type attack bonus for Dark Pokémon. Beat Up ignores Wonder Guard, as it is considered a typeless attack.
Generation II
Beat Up inflicts damage on the target from the user and from each conscious Pokémon in the user's party that does not have a non-volatile status. Each strike is typeless and has a base power of 10; damage is determined using each attacking Pokémon's base Attack and level and the target's base Defense. Beat Up ignores changes to stat levels such as Swords Dance. Same-type attack bonus is not considered when calculating damage. Each strike is preceded with the message "<name>'s Attack!", where <name> is the name of the Pokémon in the player's party.

In a Double Battle, if a Pokémon uses Beat Up on its partner, the partner will attack itself (unless it suffers from a status ailment).
Each strike has an independent chance of being a critical hit. King's Rock has its chance of activation based on the last strike alone. Despite Dark moves being special prior to Generation IV, Beat Up activates Counter but not Mirror Coat.

Each attack is preceded with the message "<name>'s Attack!", where <name> is the name of the Pokémon in the player's party.
Generations III and IV
If a Pokémon uses Beat Up on its partner in a Double Battle, the partner will attack itself (unless it suffers from a status ailment). If Beat Up activates a target's Focus Sash, no subsequent hits can knock it out. Beat Up ignores Wonder Guard, as it is considered a typeless attack. The Sniper Ability does not affect critical hits. Each strike has an independent chance of activating a King's Rock or Razor Fang. Beat Up cannot receive boost from Technician.
Generation V onwards
Instead of using each party member's Attack stat, the user's Attack alone is used to calculate the damage of each strike. Because of this, Beat Up is now affected by boosts like from Swords Dance and Attack-boosting items like Choice Band. Furthermore, the base power per strike is no longer 10, but instead individually based on the Attack base stats of the party Pokémon:

Generation V
<math>BasePower = \dfrac{BaseAttack_{PartyMember}}{10}+5</math>
Beat Up's power is now based solely on the user's base attack (rather than each team member individually), divided by 10, with 5 power added to the result. Beat Up no longer lists the Pokémon that is using Beat Up, and has a chance of landing a critical hit for each hit. Beat Up now receives STAB from Dark users and no longer deals typeless damage. Beat Up ignores changes to stat levels like from Swords Dance, but each hit does increase in power from attack boosting items like Choice Band, provided that that item is held by the user.

Pokémon Rumble Blast
Beat Up now receives STAB from Dark users, no longer dealing typeless damage, and is affected by Technician.
The user damages all Pokémon directly in front of it. When Beat Up hits a foe, Hits = (Teammatescurrent + 1)

* Hits is the number of times the user attacks the target.
Beat Up no longer lists the individual attackers' names. Each strike will activate Justified, Weak Armor and Stamina. If a Focus Sash activates before the last strike is dealt, the following strike will cause the defending Pokémon to faint. A Focus Band can still activate repeatedly to prevent fainting, but each chance is independent. Sturdy will activate with each hit if the defending Pokémon has a maximum HP of 1. Each strike has an independent chance of activating Stench, but this does not stack with the Razor Fang or King's Rock.
* Teammatescurrent is the number of teammates that are assisting the main Pokémon.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon
Beat Up warps enemy Pokémon to the user's position. It can warp up to four, but may also fail.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series
Beat Up is a status move which warps all teammates on the floor to the user. In games prior to Super Mystery Dungeon, teammates are placed up to 2 tiles away from the user. Beat Up (Japanese: ふくろだたき Gang Up) is a damage-dealing Dark-type multistrike move introduced in Generation II. Prior to Generation IV, it was the signature move of Sneasel, but other Pokémon could still inherit it via breeding. It was TM37 in Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Effect

151Mew.png This move effect may be in need of research.
Reason: Is Beat Up boosted by the ability Technician? If so, does it affect just the user's initial strike or all strikes?
You can discuss this on the talk page.

Each strike has an independent chance of being a critical hit. King's Rock has its chance of activation based on the last strike alone. Despite Dark-type moves being special prior to Generation IV, Beat Up activates Counter but not Mirror Coat.

Beat Up now receives STAB from Dark-type users, no longer dealing typeless damage, and is affected by Technician.
