Flavor text Generation VII Boosts the Defense stat when hit by an attack. Generation VIII Boosts the Defense stat when hit by an attack. Generation IX Boosts the Defense stat when the Pokémon is hit by an attack. Champions When the Pokémon takes damage from a move, its Defense stat is boosted by 1 stage.

Stamina (Japanese: じきゅうりょく Stamina) is an Ability introduced in Generation VII. Prior to Generation IX, it was the signature Ability of Mudbray and Mudsdale.

Effect

In battle

When a Pokémon with Stamina is hit by an attack, its Defense rises by one stage.

If a Pokémon with this Ability is hit by a multistrike move (such as Fury Swipes), each hit activates this Ability.

Outside of battle

Stamina has no effect outside of battle.
