Ralts (Japanese: ラルトス Ralts) is a dual-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III. Prior to Generation VI, it was a pure Psychic Pokémon.

It evolves into Kirlia starting at level 20, which evolves into Gardevoir starting at level 30 or, if male, Gallade when exposed to a Dawn Stone.

Physiology
Ralts is a humanoid Pokémon with a white body. It has thin arms and legs that widen toward the feet. There is a wispy extension trailing off the back of its feet, creating the overall impression of a nightgown or oversized dress. Most of its face is covered by green hair that resembles a bowl cut, but a pair of pinkish-red eyes is sometimes visible. There are two flat, red horns on top of its head: a large one toward the front and a smaller one at the back.
Ralts has a white body. Its legs give it the appearance of wearing a dress. Ralts has a green "helmet" that has a red horn on the front and one on the back. A Ralts's eyes are normally covered by its "helmet", but a view from the proper angle will reveal a pair of melancholy eyes that look similar to the ones its evolved forms and Roserade have. Despite the fact that Ralts and its evolutions resemble humans, they somehow bear a closer relationship to Ghost Pokémon than with other humanoid Pokémon such as Mime Jr.

Gender differences
Ralts uses the horns to read people and Pokémon's emotions. Warm feelings cause its body to warm as well, but it hides if it senses hostility. If its Trainer is in a cheerful mood, Ralts also becomes cheerful and joyous. It is known to inhabit List of Pokémon by habitat, but it does not normally show itself to humans. However, when it senses happy feelings, it will approach people. Ralts prefers to hang out with people of cheerful nature more than those with gloomy natures. Regardless, Ralts will show no discrimination to anyone based on age or gender. As mentioned in Sleep, when you see a Ralts smiling in its sleep, that means something good has happened during that day.
None.

Special abilities
Evolution
Ralts can use its horns to sense the emotions of Pokémon and people. The abilities that Ralts has in battle are similar to what most Ghost Pokémon would have. Ralts is one of the few Pokémon that can learn Magical Leaf.
Ralts evolves into Kirlia, which evolves into either Gardevoir or, if male, Gallade.

Behavior
(For specifics on this Pokémon's Evolution in the games, refer to Game data→Evolution data.)
Ralts is a timid Pokémon that will hide if it senses hostility, but becomes a little braver if it senses happy feelings and optimism from others. If its Trainer is in a cheerful mood, this Pokémon grows cheerful and joyous in the same way. If its horns capture the warm feelings of people or Pokémon, its body warms up slightly.

Ruby owned a Ralts nicknamed Ruru. However, for most of the Ruby & Sapphire Ruru is with Wally after Ruby was lost in an earthquake that left him under Briney's care (where he learned of the beautiful Milotic that Mimi eventually evolved into). While training with Wally under Norman's command, Ruru evolves into a Kirlia and is eventually returned to Ruby.

* Ralts's Trozei! sprite is the only one where its eyes are visible. In Pokémon X and Y, Pokémon Colosseum, and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, one can see them if one were to view Ralts from below in the Pokédex/Trainer memo; however, it is not a sprite.

*Although being able to learn Will-O-Wisp by breeding, Ralts was not compatible with the TM that teaches the same move in Generation IV. In Generation V, the situation is reversed, it is now compatible with the TM, but Will-O-Wisp is no longer listed among its Egg Moves (although Ralts will still carry Will-O-Wisp upon hatching if the male parent knows the move, due to it being passed down as with any other machine move would).

* Despite the fact that Wally caught his Ralts on Route 102 at level 5 in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, it is impossible for the player to catch a level 5 Ralts in the entire game, beside by breeding one.
* As of Generation VIII, Ralts and its evolutionary relatives are the only Pokémon that are in the Amorphous and Human-Like Egg Groups.
** This may have been done so Wally could have a "starter" Pokémon at the same level as the player's.

Origin
Origin
Ralts's appearance seems to be based slightly on that of a young child, following the theory that young children can sense feelings easier and more thoroughly than adults. Its red "horns" also resemble the tips of a heart shape.
Ralts seems to be based on a young child and the concept of empathy. It is common in various forms of media for shy, sensitive characters to be depicted with hair obscuring their eyes, which may explain Ralts's bowl cut hairstyle. The shape of its legs resemble a long dress, and the red horns on its head resemble two halves of a heart shape, which may relate to its ability to sense emotions.

Name origin
Ralts may be a partial anagram of astral (as in astral body); its other language names seem to follow this. It may also involve relate, referring to the way Ralts will only relate to kind Trainers. It may also be a play on waltz (a type of dance); Ralts' evolutionary family appears to have several similarities to dancers.
Ralts may be a partial anagram of astral body (relating to its Psychic powers). It may also involve waltz (referring to its dancer-like evolved forms).

Ralts (Japanese: ラルトス Ralts) is a dual-type Psychic/Fairy Pokémon introduced in Generation III. Prior to Generation VI, it was a pure Psychic-type Pokémon.

It evolves into Kirlia starting at level 20, which evolves into Gardevoir starting at level 30 or, if male, Gallade when exposed to a Dawn Stone.

Biology

Ralts's eyes seen from below

Ralts is a humanoid Pokémon with a white body. It has thin arms and legs that widen toward the feet. There is a wispy extension trailing off the back of its feet, creating the overall impression of a nightgown or oversized dress. Most of its face is covered by green hair that resembles a bowl cut, but a pair of pinkish-red eyes is sometimes visible. There are two flat, red horns on top of its head: a large one toward the front and a smaller one at the back.

Ralts uses the horns to read people and Pokémon's emotions. Warm feelings cause its body to warm as well, but it hides if it senses hostility. If its Trainer is in a cheerful mood, Ralts also becomes cheerful and joyous. It is known to inhabit urban areas, but it does not normally show itself to humans. However, when it senses happy feelings, it will approach people. Ralts prefers to hang out with people of cheerful nature more than those with gloomy natures. Regardless, Ralts will show no discrimination to anyone based on age or gender. As mentioned in Pokémon Sleep, when you see a Ralts smiling in its sleep, that means something good has happened during that day.[1]

Evolution

Ralts evolves into Kirlia, which evolves into either Gardevoir or, if male, Gallade.

Trivia

Origin

Ralts seems to be based on a young child and the concept of empathy. It is common in various forms of media for shy, sensitive characters to be depicted with hair obscuring their eyes, which may explain Ralts's bowl cut hairstyle. The shape of its legs resemble a long dress, and the red horns on its head resemble two halves of a heart, which may relate to its ability to sense emotions.

Name origin

Ralts may be a partial anagram of astral (relating to its Psychic powers). It may also involve waltz (referring to its dancer-like evolved forms).
