Location in Black and White

N's Castle (Japanese: Nの(しろ) N's Castle) is Team Plasma's supreme base and the home of N. It is also referred to as Team Plasma's castle. It appears at the Pokémon League during the climax of Black and White, becoming accessible from the Champion's room and serving as the site of the final main game battles of Black and White. Following these battles, the castle disappears and cannot be revisited in these games.

In Black 2 and White 2, the player can access the castle's ruins from Victory Road. Its location is unmarked on the map until the player discovers it.

In the games

Pokémon Black and White

N's Castle rising from the ground

The castle can first be seen during the game intro cutscene, where Ghetsis crowns N as Team Plasma's king.

The castle appears after the player has defeated the Elite Four and entered the Champion's room to witness N's victory over Alder, rising from the ground and attaching itself to the Pokémon League building with multiple staircases, one of which appears in the Champion's room and grants the player access to the castle. As the player enters the first floor, six of the Seven Sages attempt to stop them. However, the Gym Leaders of Unova (with the exception of Cilan, Chili, and Cress, as Bianca was unable to reach them in time) intercept the surprise attack, allowing the player to proceed further into the castle.

On the second floor, a member of the Shadow Triad directs the player to a room where two women await them, introducing themselves as Anthea and Concordia. Anthea heals the player's party and Concordia tells the player about N's childhood. A room on the third floor contains a PC that will allow the player to rearrange the party as well. In the same room, Scientists plan to infiltrate the Pokémon Storage System to release the Pokémon from every Trainers' PC Boxes. Team Plasma Grunts are scattered about the other rooms of the building; however, unlike during their other encounters, they will not fight the player, instead celebrating victory or thinking of saying goodbye to their Pokémon. One of these Grunts will allow the player to return to the Pokémon League Pokémon Center, while another Grunt there will transport the player back to the castle, as the player cannot traverse through the Pokémon League again to get there. One Grunt reveals that the castle was being secretly built for several years by overworking Pokémon that were taken away from other Trainers.

N's room resides on the fourth floor. It is decorated in a childish manner, with cloud wallpaper and floor covering, as well as multiple toys scattered around, many of which can be interacted with. Some of them show signs of recent usage (such as the train set), while others denote usage by Pokémon as well as humans, such as the skating ramp, which is covered in claw marks and scratches. There is a home basketball hoop installed on the west wall, before which lies a basketball with the word "Harmonia" (N and Ghetsis's surname) inscribed on it.

Right before the final battle with N in his throne room on the top floor of the castle, ReshiramB/ZekromW will emerge from its stone to battle the player. After the Legendary Pokémon is caught, the player has the option to add it to their party. This capture is forced, unless the player's party and PC Boxes are all full, in which case the Legendary Pokémon respawns at Dragonspiral Tower during the post-game.

During the battle with N, he uses the Legendary Pokémon opposite to the one caught by the player. After N is defeated, Ghetsis reveals that he was manipulating N and Team Plasma in order to achieve his own goals, and battles the player in order to silence them. Once Ghetsis has been defeated, he is escorted away by Cheren and Alder (although it is revealed during the post-game that the Shadow Triad later managed to free him before he could be taken into custody). N then flies away on his Legendary Pokémon, triggering the end credits. Following them, the castle disappears and becomes inaccessible.

Pokémon Black 2 and White 2

The underground ruins of N's Castle can be accessed from a large cavern that is located within Victory Road. However, the entrance to the cavern is initially blocked by N's Zoroark. After the player has entered the Hall of Fame, Zoroark will stop blocking the entrance and lead the player to the castle.

After entering the castle, the player and N walk around the ruins. Only the fourth and fifth floors can be accessed, and the only accessible rooms in them are N's room and the throne room. In the throne room, N asks the player to battle him and his ZekromB2/ReshiramW2. After the player defeats him, N reverts his dragon to its dormant state—the Dark StoneB2/Light StoneW2—and gives it to the player to summon ZekromB2/ReshiramW2 at Dragonspiral Tower to catch.

After the player has entered the Hall of Fame, N appears in Nimbasa City near the Rondez-View Ferris Wheel every Friday. After the player has ridden the Ferris wheel with him and battled Kyurem in the Giant Chasm, he returns to his castle for a rematch, with his team varying depending on the current season.

Items

In Black and White, the castle becomes inaccessible after Ghetsis is defeated, making the items inside inaccessible as well.

Special encounters

Pokémon Black and White

A ReshiramB/ZekromW appears here as part of the story. If defeated or run from, it respawns immediately without leaving the area; however, if the player has a full party and PC Boxes, it will instead respawn at Dragonspiral Tower after defeating Ghetsis. It is coded to never be Shiny. After it is caught, the player will be given the option to swap it for a member of their party. If it is added to the party, it will be automatically moved to the first slot, causing it to be sent out first in the ensuing battle with N.

N's Castle in Pokémon the Series: Black & White

Pokémon the Series

In Pokémon the Series, the castle is described as a mansion and is less grand in appearance than it is in the games.

Pokémon the Series: Black & White

N's Castle was first seen in a flashback in The Name's N!. When Ash told N how he and his friends were trying to find Reshiram, N had a flashback of his youth, a moment when he had been at his castle, which, along with its surroundings, had been on fire. He saw Reshiram appearing before him, and kept looking at it as it flew away.

The Castle was also seen in a flashback in Secrets From Out of the Fog!, where a ceremony involving N and led by Ghetsis and the other Seven Sages was taking place, when suddenly Reshiram appeared, setting the castle ablaze with its Fire attacks and preventing the ceremony from being completed, much to Ghetsis's anger.

N's Castle in Pokémon Generations

N's Castle appeared in The Uprising. Like in Pokémon Black and White, it rose from the ground around the Pokémon League, with the Seven Sages standing at the tops of the rising towers. Iris started battling the army of Team Plasma Grunts coming out of the castle and was soon joined by most of the other Unova Gym Leaders.

Pokémon Evolutions

N's Castle in Pokémon Evolutions

N's Castle appeared in The Plan, where it was shown to be surrounding the Pokémon League. After N had defeated Alder, Hilda entered the castle and met Ghetsis, who told her how he had raised N into his role as Team Plasma's king and the Hero of Ideals. He then allowed Hilda, carrying the Light Stone, to enter the castle's throne room to face N and Zekrom.

Pocket Monsters BW: The Heroes of Fire and Thunder

N's Castle appeared in Clash! White Hero vs Black Hero. After successfully awakening Reshiram at the Relic Castle, Shin flew the Legendary Pokémon to N's Castle and started his battle against N and his Zekrom. Although Reshiram was unable to beat its counterpart, it was able to provide Shin's Emboar with enough firepower to allow its Flare Blitz to defeat Zekrom. After being defeated, N promised to Shin to reconsider his ideology, before flying away with Zekrom.

Black & White arc

N's room in Pokémon Adventures

N's Castle served as Team Plasma's main base of operations during this arc. It debuted in Listening to Pokémon in N's flashback of his coronation as the king of Team Plasma.

In Something Suspicious, Grimsley felt faint rumbling coming from underground, sensing N's Castle moving through the earth.

In Cold Hard Truth, Zinzolin summoned the castle from underground via remote control, surrounding the Pokémon League building and interrupting the ongoing League tournament. Team Plasma Grunts emerged from the castle and surrounded the League viewers, while the Seven Sages and N watched from above as the chaos took place. N and Black had their final battle on top of the castle, which eventually moved to inside. White found her way in N's room after being teleported there by Hood Man, where she met Anthea and Concordia.

While Black and N were battling, Team Plasma displayed the Gym Leaders they had captured on crucifixes as a sign of their power. However, all the Trainers whom Black had befriended during his journey showed up to help, swearing to do everything in their power to protect Unova. Thanks to their cooperation, all the captured Gym Leaders were freed, much to the disbelief of the Seven Sages, and they joined the battle against the Sages. The Elite Four, meanwhile, focused their attention on Hood Man and the forces of nature, with Grimsley revealing that the rumbling caused by Team Plasma constructing their castle for the past months had kept disrupting his card and roulette games, irritating him enough to fight back now.

After Black successfully beat N, Ghetsis attacked him in order to silence him and keep the word of N's defeat from getting out. As Ghetsis had assembled a team of Pokémon specifically designed to counter Black's team, Black was initially at a disadvantage. However, after he figured out and that Ghetsis was using a Volcarona to power up his Pokémon, and had his Pokémon swap their opponents to ones more suitable for them, he was finally able to defeat Ghetsis. Afterwards, N flew away with Zekrom, and as Reshiram's counterpart was no longer present, the Vast White Pokémon started reverting back into its form as the Light Stone. Seizing the chance for revenge, Ghetsis pushed Black into Reshiram, causing him to be sucked into the Light Stone as well. Before White could grab the stone, it flew away into parts unknown.

Black 2 & White 2 arc

N's Castle reappeared in The Final Battle, where it was shown to be still standing around the Pokémon League two years later. When the out-of-control Plasma Frigate collided with the castle and set it on fire, threatening the Pokémon inside the castle, the Unova Pokédex holders, Cheren, Bianca, Hugh, Benga, and Cedric Juniper combined their first partner Pokémon's respective pledge moves in order to put out the fire.

When the International Police prepared to take Ghetsis into custody, he said that people would fall for his lies in the future as well, but Whitley declared that even if people would be deceived by him again, the numerous Pokémon he had hurt would never forget about him or let him get away with his evil deeds ever again. The angry glares of the Pokémon in N's Castle caused Ghetsis to have a nervous breakdown and laugh madly as the International Police took him away.

Main article: N's Castle (Battle Partners 97)

N's Castle was introduced as a Stadium card in the Pokémon Trading Card Game during the English Scarlet & Violet Series (the Japanese Scarlet & Violet Era). It was first released in the Japanese Battle Partners expansion, with artwork by AYUMI ODASHIMA. It is a card that exclusively benefits the "N" Trainer's Pokémon archetype in the TCG; as long as the N's Castle Stadium card is in play, each player's N's Pokémon has no Retreat Cost.
