Solid Rock (Japanese: ハードロック Hard Rock) is an Ability introduced in Generation IV.

Effect

In battle

Solid Rock reduces damage from super-effective moves by 25%. For example, a move that would do 2× damage will do 1.5× damage instead.

Outside of battle

Solid Rock has no effect outside of battle.

  • All Pokémon with Solid Rock have at least one 4× weakness. Camerupt is the only Pokémon with Solid Rock not to have a 4× weakness to Grass.
  • Solid Rock originated as a TCG Poké-BODY.
  • Despite the name of this Ability, Solid Rock was given to more Ground-type Pokémon than Rock types in its debut generation.
