After acquiring the corresponding Treat from Snacksworth, certain Legendary Pokémon will spawn in this area as a static encounter. If defeated, they can be battled again after the game has been rebooted, provided that over one hour has passed in Nintendo Switch's internal clock since their defeat. They are coded to never be Shiny.

West Province (Area One) first appeared in Battle! Team Star, the Delinquents!!, where Violet and Arven traveled through it. Having just failed to defeat TitanIron Treads at Asado Desert, they figured they needed a Fire-type Pokémon that's also resistant to Ground moves. They soon found such a Pokémon in Scovillain, which Violet caught and traded to Arven in exchange for his Mabosstiff. Violet then helped Arven to catch a Smoliv, which Arven gave to Violet in exchange for getting back his Mabosstiff. Later, Violet spotted some Team Star Grunts who were trying to force Penny into joining them. When the Grunts tried to physically drag Penny with them, Violet stepped in to defend her and drove the Grunts away. Director Clavell and two other teachers from Uva Academy secretly witnessed all of this from nearby.
In Raid! The Dark Crew Base!!, Violet was contacted by an individual named Cassiopeia, who requested his help in joining Operation Starfall, a mission meant to bring down Team Star. Violet agreed without hesitation, much to Arven's disbelief, and Cassiopeia instructed them to start with the nearby Segin Squad's Base. Days later, they arrived at the base, where Clavell, disguised as a student named Clive, requested to join them, which Cassiopeia reluctantly accepted. Violet was happy to receive an ally, oblivious to the disguise that Arven saw through of in an instant. The three of them subsequently stormed the base, with Violet ultimately claiming victory over Giacomo.
In Evolve! The Second Fire Evolution!!, following directions from Giacomo, Violet and Arven arrived back to West Province (Area One) in search of the Open Sky Titan, only to find the path up the mountain obstructed by a multitude of rolling boulders dropped by Titan Bombirdier. With Miraidon's speed, they started weaving their way up the mountainside while avoiding the boulders, rescuing an injured street musician named Mireia in the process. After making Bombirdier drop all of its boulders, thus leaving it unable to drop more, Violet and Arven started battling the Titan in Decisive! The Battle in the Sky!!. With Mireia unexpectedly providing assistance by attracting the Titan's attention with her guitar music and her Meowth's Screech, Arven was able to hit Bombirdier with his Nacli's Smack Down, leaving it open for Violet's Clodsire to attack and defeat it. Arven repaid Mireia for her help with a sandwich made from the Bitter Herba Mystica that Bombirdier had been guarding. When Miraidon ate one of the sandwiches as well, it regained its ability to swim. Afterwards, Mireia showed the two the nearby Icerend Shrine, but since it was not mentioned in the Violet Book, Violet deemed it unimportant to them and promptly headed for the West Paldean Sea to try out Miraidon's new surfing ability.
Violet later returned to the area to search for stakes connected to the treasures of ruin shrines. His search was interrupted by a call from Clive, who told Violet about Team Star's last boss, Ortega. Violet, considering Ortega a kindred spirit due to them both coming from rich backgrounds, was enraged that Ortega could've been bullied and headed for the Ruchbah Squad's Base to fight those who had wronged him, ignoring Clive's comment about said bullies not actually being there. Simultaneously, Tulip arrived in the area with a Flying Taxi to check on the stake that Violet had just been heading for.
