Version-exclusive moves: Difference between revisions

| Version-exclusive moves are moves that are not available in all games in a single generation. They are often the signature moves of version-exclusive Pokémon. For LGPE onward, this is specific to games that are paired with one another, as Pokémon's moves do not carry over through HOME to other games in the same generation. | ||
This list does not take into account moves | This list does not take into account the fact that the following moves could be Sketched, used via Metronome, or obtained from events. This list does not include Shadow moves, which, with the exception of Shadow Rush, are all exclusive to . This also does not include moves of Pokémon who cannot be obtained in-game in any game within the generation, such as Psycho Boost during Generation IV and V.
==List of | The moves are listed in order of their index number and categorized by the generation in which they are version-exclusive.

Version-exclusive moves are moves that are not available in all games in a single generation. They are often the signature moves of version-exclusive Pokémon. For Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! onward, this is specific to games that are paired with one another, as Pokémon's moves do not carry over through Pokémon HOME to other games in the same generation.
This list does not take into account the fact that the following moves could be Sketched, used via Metronome, or obtained from events. This list does not include Shadow moves, which, with the exception of Shadow Rush, are all exclusive to Pokémon XD. This also does not include moves of Pokémon who cannot be obtained in-game in any game within the generation, such as Psycho Boost during Generation IV and V.
The moves are listed in order of their index number and categorized by the generation in which they are version-exclusive.

Generation V
Generation VI
- Hyperspace Fury can only be learned in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, but the only Pokémon able to do so, Hoopa Unbound, is event-exclusive.
- Origin Pulse, Precipice Blades, Dragon Ascent, and Hyperspace Fury are not programmed into Pokémon X and Y. As such, Pokémon which know these moves cannot be traded to X and Y, cannot be used in a link battle against X and Y, and cannot be withdrawn from Pokémon Bank to a copy of X or Y.
Generation VII
Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! excludes a large majority of moves in the series and cannot interact in any way with Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon. Because of this, the two games groups are listed separately.
Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon
- Plasma Fists can only be learned in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, but the only Pokémon able to do so, Zeraora, is event-exclusive.
- Mind Blown, Plasma Fists, Photon Geyser, Light That Burns the Sky, Searing Sunraze Smash, Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom, Let's Snuggle Forever, Splintered Stormshards, and Clangorous Soulblaze are not programmed into Pokémon Sun or Moon. As such, Pokémon which know these moves cannot be traded to Sun or Moon, cannot be used in a link battle against Sun and Moon, and cannot be withdrawn from Pokémon Bank to a copy of Sun or Moon.
