In the games
History
Akari has experienced similar events to her core series counterpart as the NPC character. When Akari caught her first partner Pokémon, Pikachu, she had trouble getting Pikachu to obey her. When Rei arrived from the space-time rift, Akari was the one who help teach Rei about the Galaxy Team Survey Corps.[2]

Other Pokémon
On hand
Before forming a sync pair with Hisuian Samurott, Akari tried to form a sync pair with her Pikachu, but was unable to, as sync stones don't work well with Hisuian Poké Balls. She also mentions that some other Pokémon came with her from Hisui as well, but the identities of these Pokémon are not known.

Akari (Summer 2026)
Trivia
- Akari & Samurott were the first fair-exclusive sync pair with the Field role.
- Akari is based on the non-player character from Pokémon Legends: Arceus, as she was the one who helped mentor Rei when he first appeared in Hisui.
- As shown during the story event Together in an Unknown Land, Akari caught her Hisuian Samurott in a space-time distortion shortly before arriving on Pasio.
- All versions of Akari use special voice-over lines upon entering a team that contains certain Trainers (regardless of their partner Pokémon) and victory with them. Those Trainers include Rei, Adaman, Irida, Mai, and Volo (but not his alternate outfit).
Origin
Akari's design is based on her appearance in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Hisuian Samurott is the final Evolution of Oshawott, one of the first partner Pokémon of Hisui in the core series. In addition, Dawn, a character similar to Akari, temporarily caught the unevolved form of Hisuian Samurott, Oshawott in Pokémon: The Arceus Chronicles. Hisuian Samurott's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
As the non-player character, Akari uses a Mime Jr. in her second battle against the player in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Mime Jr.'s Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
Manaphy is a Mythical Pokémon that can be encountered and caught by the player in Pokémon Legends: Arceus through Request #66: The Sea's Legend. Manaphy's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Platinum.
