Players could team up with Eve & Eevee by completing the first story area of the event, A Mysterious Rumor on Pasio.
During this event, players could earn event vouchers from battles that could be redeemed in the shop. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day. Extra vouchers were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.
The player could battle using Elaine & Eevee to obtain +0.6× bonus vouchers; Penny & Sylveon, Adaman & Leafeon, Irida & Glaceon, or Leaf & Eevee to obtain +0.4× bonus vouchers; and Valerie & Sylveon, Eve & Eevee, or any unlisted Kanto sync pairs to obtain +0.2× bonus vouchers.
This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with teams using various theme skills, earning medals and other rewards.
In addition, players could earn a medal for completing all the story areas in the event.
First run
The event first ran from November 17 to December 4, 2023. The "Elaine Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Elaine & Eevee from the beginning of the event to December 7, 2023. A special splash screen featuring art of Elaine & Eevee, Eve (Poké Kid) & Eevee, and Penny & Sylveon appeared while starting up the game for the duration of this scout.
In this run, the type of voucher that players could earn was Event Voucher T. Event mission rewards included Gems, Battle Points, medals, and a Support Move Candy Coin.
Second run
The event reran from November 21 to December 6, 2024. It ran alongside several other events focusing on Eevee and its evolutions in honor of Eevee Day. In this run, the type of voucher that players could earn was Event Voucher G. Event missions were changed to reward only medals and Gems.
Exchanges were available in the shop to convert Eve (Poké Kid) & Eevee's Custom ★ Power-Ups and Sync Orbs into standard 4★ Power-Ups, 3★ Power-Ups, and Co-op Sync Orbs for players who had already fully upgraded this sync pair.
Plot
Rumors are going around that there's a talking Eevee on Pasio, but no one's been able to verify them. After being disappointed by an inconclusive video on the subject, Elaine resolves to find the talking Eevee herself—alongside her partner Eevee, of course. Searching among some trees, Elaine sees what appears to be a pair of Eevee, and one of them is talking. She slowly creeps up on it, but when she tries to grab it, she discovers that it's not a Pokémon—it's Eve, a Poké Kid from Galar who was pretending to be an Eevee! Elaine apologizes for the mix-up and introduces herself as a fellow Eevee fan. She's disappointed that she didn't find the talking Eevee, but Eve suggests that they search for it together, since she knows a lot about Eevee. Eve declares that they're now friends, and the pair search around Pasio asking Trainers who have formed sync pairs with Eevee and its evolutions about the talking Eevee.
Adaman and Irida say they've never seen one in here or Hisui, and Leaf has never heard of one either. Misty comments that a talking Eevee would be famous because it's so special, so Erika suggests that it is hiding the fact that it can talk. After getting no information from any of them, Eve and Elaine are stumped and start to wonder if the talking Eevee even exists. Suddenly, Elaine spots Penny a short distance away. Elaine concludes that she must know about Eevee because of her Eevee bag, so Elaine and Eve approach her, which startles her. Fortunately, Penny calms down when she notices their Eevee and recognizes Eve's outfit. Elaine explains their goal, and Eve invites Penny to look for the talking Eevee with them. Penny doesn't know anything about a talking Eevee, but she does know about a secret gathering of Eevee fans that might know exclusive information. Penny wants to find the talking Eevee, too, so she offers to bring them to the gathering.
Penny leads them to a clearing in the forest that's filled with Trainers and Eeveelutions and explains their mission. The Street Thug who greets them doesn't know anything about a talking Eevee, but he invites them to talk to the other Trainers and play with their Pokémon. Eve shows off her Eevee impression, while Elaine demonstrates her Eevee's ability to use the Secret Technique Chop Down. A pair of Punk Girls comment that her Eevee is mysterious and wonder if it's the talking Eevee. Elaine tries talking to her Eevee, but it only says its Pokémon cry. Penny wonders if it's even physically possible for a Pokémon to use human language, so Elaine suggests that they ask Professor Oak.
They find Professor Oak in his lab talking to Blue. Blue and the professor commend Elaine for her growth, and Penny is shocked that Elaine knows the two of them. Nemona is also in the lab, hoping to have a battle with Blue. She starts to ask Elaine for a battle since Blue thinks so highly of her, but Penny cuts her off so they can ask Professor Oak their question. Professor Oak says it is possible for Pokémon to speak, sending out a Chatot as an example. Chatot mimics some of Professor Oak's words, and the professor explains that it exhibits this behavior to trick other Pokémon into thinking it's one of them. He theorizes that, since Chatot can copy human speech, other Pokémon might be able to speak human language as a reaction to humans speaking to them. Elaine thanks the professor for his advice, commenting that people and Pokémon can communicate through their hearts, but she would love it if they could express their feelings in words.
Days later, Elaine, Eve, and Penny are interviewing Valerie about talking Pokémon, thinking that people who have a strong bond with their Pokémon might be able to speak with them. Valerie says that Trainers love and respect their Pokémon, so maybe there are Pokémon that love and respect their Trainers in the same way. Eve and Elaine's Eevee turn around to face their Trainers, and someone says "I love you!". Elaine asks the others if they said something, but they all deny it. Penny finds this creepy, but Elaine and Eve find it cute. As the group continues to chat, Eve and Elaine's Eevee cry out happily.

(Town; Elaine is watching a video on her Poryphone) | |
...Unfortunately, we couldn't find the talking Eevee everyone on Pasio's been whispering about. So I'd like to ask the viewers for help! If you have any information about the talking Eevee, please leave a comment! Until next time! | |
Elaine | Hmm. This video didn't end how I wanted it to... Well, maybe that means we should find the talking Eevee ourselves! Let's go, partner! |
(Transition to the boulevard, where Eve and her Eevee are standing behind a tree) | |
??? | Vee! Eevee! Hmm... I'm still not good enough! |
Elaine | (Whoa! Did we find it already?) |
(Elaine approaches Eve and Eevee) | |
Elaine | (Slowly now, slooowly...) |
(Fade to black) | |
Elaine | Hyah! |
??? | Ouch?! |
(Fade to Elaine and Eve facing each other on the boulevard) | |
??? | Wh-what's with you? |
Elaine | H-huh? You're not a Pokémon? |
??? | Wait a sec... |
Eve | I'm Eve, a Trainer from Galar. I love to play pretend Pokémon! |
- Everyone Who Likes Eevee

---|---|
Elaine | Ah, I get it now! I guess I got mixed up! |
Eve | Do you like Eevee, too? |
Elaine | Yup! I'm Elaine. I came from Pallet Town with my partner Eevee! |
Eve | Pallet Town?! That's where Professor Oak lives! |
Elaine | That's right! You know a lot, huh? |
Eve | Of course! Every Poké Kid reads Professor Oak's books! |
Elaine | So you must be studying a lot about Pokémon! But it's kind of a shame you weren't the talking Eevee... |
Eve | You're looking for a talking Eevee? I'm looking for it too! Let's search together! I know lots about Eevee! |
Elaine | Really?! That would be amazing. Thank you, Eve! |
Eve | Yay! We're friends now! |
(Transition to Elaine and Eve talking to Adaman, Irida, Rei, and Akari in the square) | |
Adaman | Hmm... An Eevee that talks... |
Irida | I've never seen one here, or in the Hisui region for that matter... |
Akari | I don't think I've seen any Galaxy Expedition Team survey reports that mention a talking Eevee either. |
Rei | Sorry we couldn't help. |
Elaine | No, it's fine! Thank you for your time! |
(Transition to Elaine and Eve talking to Leaf, Erika, and Misty on the beach; Erika and Misty are wearing their sygna suits) | |
Leaf | Hmm. I've never heard of a talking Eevee... |
Elaine | Oh, that's a shame... |
Misty | If there actually was an Eevee that stood out like that, don't you think that it would be famous by now? |
Erika | If it actually exists, maybe it's hiding the fact that it can talk. |
Eve | So it's a secret? |
Leaf | Actually, wait... Your Eevee are so cute! Can I touch them? |
(Leaf starts fawning over Elaine and Eve's Eevee) | |
Leaf | There, there... That's a good little Eevee! |
(Transition to Elaine and Eve in the town) | |
Eve | I don't know anyone else who knows a lot about Eevee... |
Elaine | Yeah... Maybe it doesn't exist after all? Hmm? Wait... |
(Elaine spots Penny standing in the middle of the street) |
- Secret Eevee Fans?
Name | Text |
---|---|
Elaine | That's an Eevee bag! |
Eve | It's so fluffy! |
Elaine | She's gotta know about Eevee! Let's talk to her! |
(Elaine and Eve approach Penny from behind) | |
Elaine | Erm... |
Penny | Whoa! |
Elaine | Wha—?! |
Penny | Y-you surprised me... Don't come up to me like that... |
Elaine | S-sorry. |
Penny | Oh...Eevee. They're cute... Wait, are you a Poké Kid? I saw that outfit back in Galar... |
Eve | You know it? |
Penny | Yeah, well... I'm actually from Galar... That, and I've kinda wanted an Eevee suit for awhi— Actually, never mind... |
Elaine | Um, we're looking for a talking Eevee! Have you heard anything about a rare Eevee? |
Eve | Let's look for it together! |
Penny | Guh...you sure are, uh, enthusiastic... Well... I don't really know anything about a talking Eevee... But I do know about a secret gathering of Eevee fans... You might get the chance to hear stories that wouldn't come up among typical Eevee fans. If you don't already know about the gathering, they'll chuck you out, so I'll introduce you. Plus I...kinda wanna meet a talking Eevee, too. |
Elaine | Really? Thank you, um... |
Penny | I'm Penny, a student from Paldea. |
(Transition to the forest, where a group of Trainers with Eevee's evolutions are gathered) | |
Elaine | Is this where secret Eevee fans gather? |
Street Thug | Wh-who are you?! How did you know about this place? |
Penny | Ah, it's OK. They won't tell anyone. You see... |
Street Thug | A talking Eevee, you say... I've never heard of one, but the others might know something. Why don't you ask around? You can even hang out with the Eevee while you do. You came all this way, after all. |
Elaine | Sure! |
Eve | Thanks! |
(Transition to Eve and Penny talking to a Hiker and a Street Thug) | |
Eve | Vee! Eevee! |
Penny | Oh, wow. That's actually quite good. |
(Transition to Elaine standing in front of a thin tree) | |
Elaine | Do the Secret Technique Chop Down, partner! |
(Eevee chops down the tree) | |
Black Belt | Wow! That Eevee can use a Secret Technique? |
Eve | That's so cool, Elaine! |
Punk Girl (1) | Real mysterious Eevee you got there... |
Punk Girl (2) | Can it talk? |
Elaine | Interesting...I guess it's hard to see what's under your nose! Hey there, Partner! Hellooo! Ah...it's not working. |
Eve | Maybe there isn't a talking Eevee? |
Penny | Would a Pokémon even use human language...? I mean, is it even physically possible? |
Elaine | Hmm, let's ask! |
Penny | Huh? Ask who? |
Elaine | Professor Oak! |
Penny | What? |
- Let's Ask Professor Oak!
Name | Text |
---|---|
(Lab; Professor Oak, Blue, Elaine, Eve, Penny, and Nemona are gathered) | |
Elaine | Hi, Professor Oak! Blue! |
Professor Oak | Good to see you, Elaine! You've grown an awful lot since you first came to Pasio! |
Blue | Great job! You're keeping up with me! |
Elaine | Hehehe! |
Eve | It's the real Professor Oak! |
Penny | Wait...seriously? You've got some good connections... |
Nemona | Oh, Penny! What're you doing here? |
Penny | I could ask you the same question! |
Nemona | I came to battle Blue! Did you know? Blue is a former Champion, and Professor Oak's grandson! |
Penny | What can I say? Classic Nemona... |
Nemona | Erm, and you're Elaine? |
Elaine | Yeah? |
Nemona | If Blue thinks highly of you, then you must be very stro— |
Penny | Yeah yeah, not now—we're busy! |
Elaine | We have a question, Professor Oak! |
Professor Oak | Hmm... Well... I wouldn't say it's impossible. Take the Pokémon Chatot, for example... |
(Professor Oak sends out a Chatot) | |
Professor Oak | It can imitate the cries of other Pokémon, and even learn to speak human words. |
Chatot | My name is Oak! People call me the Pokémon Professor! |
Elaine | Wow! |
Eve | That's amazing, Chatot! |
Professor Oak | Apparently, it mimics the cries of other Pokémon to trick them into thinking it's one of them. That way Chatot won't be attacked. Since Pokémon like Chatot exist... One could theorize that a Pokémon learning to mimic human speech is a reaction of some sort. |
Eve | So you're saying that some Pokémon might be playing "pretend human"? |
Professor Oak | Haha! Maybe! It would be interesting to see a Pokémon that does that! |
Elaine | OK, I get it! |
Professor Oak | Was my advice helpful? |
Elaine | Of course! Thank you, Professor Oak! People and Pokémon can share a silent, heart-to-heart connection... But I would love if we could speak to each other. If we could express our feelings in words, we'd be even happier! |
Eve | Yeah! I think so too! |
(Transition to Elaine, Eve, and Penny talking to Valerie in the village) | |
Days later... | |
Valerie | Oh...so you're looking for a talking Pokémon. |
Eve | Yup! They play "pretend human"! |
Elaine | It's not just Eevee—there's a possibility that any Pokémon can talk! |
Eve | We're investigating Pokémon that are friends with people! |
Valerie | I see... We love Pokémon and have respect for them. Maybe there are Pokémon that love and respect us the same way. |
(Elaine and Eve's Eevee look up at their Trainers; fade to black) | |
??? | I love you! |
(Back to the village) | |
Elaine | ...? Did you just say something, Eve? |
Eve | What? Erm...no... |
Penny | I didn't either. |
Valerie | Me neither... |
Penny | Eugh, creepy! Big horror movie vibes... |
Elaine | But... |
Eve | It wasn't creepy at all! |
Elaine | Yeah! It sounded so cute! |
(Elaine and Eve's Eevee cry out happily) |
Trivia
- This was the only event in which players could team up with a sync pair by completing the first story area of the event, rather than the final one.
- This, combined with the fact that the first story area concluded with the music that normally plays to designate the conclusion of a story, could give the impression that the story event consisted of only a single story area.
- During the first run of this event, the event banner formatted its title as "Let's Go in Search of Wonder", despite other sources—like the medal names, medal descriptions, and home screen recommendation—formatting it with "In" capitalized.
