Description | His goal is to be like his dad, Norman—a Gym Leader he really looks up to. He is a bit mischievous, but he is serious about Pokémon battles. |
Brendan (Japanese: ユウキ Yūki) is a Pokémon Trainer in Pokémon Masters EX, based on the character of the same name in the core series. He forms a sync pair with Treecko and its evolutions, Grovyle and Sceptile. This sync pair was first made available since the game release. This pair can be raised to 6★ EX from December 7, 2020.
Brendan also appears in his Sygna Suit, partnered alongside Latios, which is capable of Mega Evolving. The pair could be obtained through a limited-time Poké Fair sync pair scout and was first available on July 31, 2022. This pair is also capable of being upgraded to 6★ EX.
Treecko → Grovyle → Sceptile
Treecko can evolve into Grovyle once it has reached level 30 through its Sync Pair Story Treecko's Evolution, and then into Sceptile once it has reached level 45 through its Sync Pair Story Grovyle's Evolution.

Trivia
- As noted in the character description, Brendan is based on the player character of the Hoenn-based games, with his father being Norman. In addition, Brendan mentions in his Sync Pair Story that he has already beaten his father.
- In a conversation with Brendan in the Pokémon Center, it is revealed that he owns a Taillow and a Zigzagoon.
- Brendan's Pokémon Adventures counterpart has also been shown to own a Mightyena. It may also be based on the Poochyena the player encounters during the DexNav tutorial in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
- The time between Brendan's debut in this game and his alternate-outfit sync pair's release is the longest at 1067 days. His debut was in August 29, 2019 (the mobile game's launch date), while his alternate-outfit sync pair was released on July 31, 2022.
- All versions of Brendan use special voice-over lines upon entering a team that contains certain Trainers (regardless of their partner Pokémon). Those Trainers include May, Wally, Norman, and Steven.
- Brendan also uses special voice-over lines upon winning a battle with May, Wally, or Steven in the same team.
Origin
Brendan's design is based on his appearance in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Treecko is one of the starter Pokémon of Hoenn in the core series games. Brendan is also depicted with a Sceptile in Pokémon Generations and the Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire Animated Trailer. Treecko, Grovyle, and Sceptile's Dex entries come from Pokémon Ruby.
Latios is a Legendary Pokémon automatically obtained during the story of Omega Ruby. He is also holding his Mega Stone when obtained, allowing him to Mega Evolve. Latios's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ruby.
