Battle with a Theme Team
Battle with a Theme Team (Japanese: 特定タグのチームで挑め Challenge Using a Team with a Specific Tag) was a special battle event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on various 
Trainer group theme skills.

The "Special Event Celebration One-Time-Only Fair-Exclusive Guaranteed Scout" was a special sync pair scout available for the duration of the event. It could only be used once, but it gave players an increased chance of recruiting Larry & Dudunsparce, Akari & Samurott, Bede & Hatterene, Sygna Suit Giovanni & Nidoking, and Elesa (Classic) & Emolga, and players were guaranteed to receive at least one of the featured fair-exclusive sync pairs.
During this event, players could take on battles against each of the fair-exclusive sync pairs featured in the event scout. Each battle awarded the player with Gems and a Move Candy Coin for a specific role. All sync pairs with the same theme skill as a featured sync pair received a ×5.0 bonus to their Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk and Sp. Def stats in the corresponding battle:
- Sync pairs with the
Main Character theme skill received it during "Take On Akari!". - Sync pairs with the Rival theme skill received it during "Take On Bede!".
- Sync pairs with the Gym Leader theme skill received it during "Take On Elesa!".
- Sync pairs with the Elite Four theme skill received it during "Take On Larry!".
- Sync pairs with the Villain theme skill received it during "Take On Sygna Suit Giovanni!".
However, only Akari could be battled from the start of the event. One new battle was unlocked every day for the first five days of the event, with the final battle being unlocked on February 14, 2025.
