Peonia (Japanese: シャクヤ Shakuya), commonly referred to as Nia (Japanese: シャクちゃん Shaku-chan) by her father Peony, is a character in The Crown Tundra in Pokémon Sword and Shield.
In the core series games
Peonia first met in front of the Crown Tundra Station, arguing with Peony. Spotting the player, she asks them to battle her father. Regardless whether the player wins of loses, Peonia escapes to the Max Lair during the battle. Once the player has completed their first Dynamax Adventure, Peonia appears before them and asks for them to take her place in her father's adventures around the Crown Tundra.
Once the player has completed all of Peony's adventures, Peonia appears in Freezington, ready for an adventure with her father. Peony hastily promises to invent some new legends to explore, which ends up offending Peonia and causes her to return to the Max Lair.
Peonia is mostly found at the Max Lair entrance, where she can be talked to. Sometimes, she will gift the player with clothing items or offer to teach them a path to a special Pokémon in the Max Lair in exchange for some Dynite Ore.
Pokémon
Max Raid Battle partner
Peonia can occasionally appear as a partner to assist the player in Max Raid Battles in the Crown Tundra. If encountered in Dynamax Adventures, she will use a rental Pokémon.

In the anime
Pokémon: Twilight Wings
Peonia appeared in The Gathering of Stars where she was seen walking off in a train headed for the Crown Tundra, asking her father Peony to stop chasing after her.
In the manga
Pokémon Adventures
Peonia debuted in PASS32. She traveled to the Crown Tundra hoping to try out Dynamax Adventures, only for her overbearing father Peony to demand they participate in a father-daughter tour of the area. While on a train, Peonia encountered Hop, Bede, and Marnie, whom she asked keep her hidden. They agreed, but upon noticing Peony's resemblance to Rose, Bede's dedication to the chairman led him to exposing Peonia. Later, Peony agreed to a battle with Marnie with Peonia's freedom on the line. Marnie eventually won, allowing Peonia to leave and challenge the Max Lair.
In PASS38, Peonia returned and agreed to join Peony, Bede, and Henry on the adven-tours, much to her father's delight. Later that night, a horrified Peonia found her father's body suddenly floating in the air. Bede explained that Peony was possessed by Calyrex, the King of Bountiful Harvests, so that it could communicate with humans. Peonia, Henry, and Bede agreed to help restore Calyrex to its former glory in order to obtain the missing Rusted Sword. Together, the group tried reuniting Calyrex with its former loyal steed, Spectrier. With the Black Mane Hair collected from Spectrier and the Radiant Petal Calyrex made, Henry forged the Reins of Unity.
In PASS40, Peonia and the others lured Spectrier to the Crown Shrine, but they were interrupted by a Gigantamaxed Corviknight and Butterfree. Realizing the Darkest Day had restarted, Peonia, Bede, Henry, and Peony fought off the rampaging giants. With the reins, Calyrex reforged its bond with Spectrier and changed into its Shadow Rider form, allowing it to find and retrieve the Rusted Sword. Later, Peonia and Calyrex said their farewells to Henry and Bede as they returned to the Galar mainland.

Peonia was introduced as a Supporter card in the Pokémon Trading Card Game during the English Sword & Shield Series (the Japanese Sword & Shield Era). It was also released as a Full Art card and Secret card in the same Japanese and English expansions, with artwork by the same artist. It allows the player to exchange three of their Prize cards for cards in their hand.
