Toxic Spikes is a non-damaging Poison-type move, introduced in Generation IV. It however, does damage the opponent if they choose to switch out. If the move is used twice, Pokémon switching in will be badly poisoned instead.
Toxic Spikes has no effect against Flying-type, Poison, Steel type Pokémon or Pokémon with the ability Levitate. If a Poison-type Pokémon is switched in or Rapid Spin is used, the effect of Toxic Spikes ends. This does not activate the ability Synchronize.
