Zapapico has an unused interior for a detailed house with a built in tunnel in the files of the game, known as a_t07_i01.[1]
Notably, it is the only interior in the game that is unrelated to an Academy or Area Zero, a Gym, Every Wich Way, Salon Renacer, or a building that is lived in by a major character (such as Nemona's or the player's houses).
Being surrounded and built upon large plateaus, Zapapico may be based on Cuenca, a city in Castilla–La Mancha that originally built as a key stronghold during the medieval period.
It may also take its inspiration on the small Spanish town of Setenil de las Bodegas with its dwellings built into the rocky formations.
