The Hottest Present (Japanese: 最高ホットなプレゼント The Hottest Present) was a story event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on the sync pair Arven (Holiday 2025) & Scovillain.
The "Arven Seasonal Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Arven (Holiday 2025) & Scovillain for the duration of the event.
During this event, players could earn event points by completing battles. Players received rewards based on the number of points accumulated, including 5★ Scout Tickets, a Strike Move Candy Coin, a 5★ Power-Up, and medals. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day.
The player could battle using Arven (Holiday 2025) & Scovillain to obtain +0.6× bonus points; Siebold & Clawitzer, Gladion & Silvally, Lillie (Holiday 2024) & Primarina, Bugsy (Holiday 2024) & Kricketune, Viola (Holiday 2023) & Vivillon, Sycamore (Holiday 2023) & Gogoat, Jasmine (Holiday 2022) & Ampharos, Whitney (Holiday 2022) & Sawsbuck, Nessa (Holiday 2021) & Eiscue, Leon (Holiday 2021) & Calyrex, Skyla (Holiday 2020) & Togekiss, Erika (Holiday 2020) & Comfey, Rosa (Holiday 2019) & Delibird, or Siebold (Holiday 2019) & Octillery to obtain +0.4× bonus points; and any unlisted Paldea sync pairs to obtain +0.2× bonus points.
This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with one or fewer sync pairs fainting and sync pairs with specific theme skills on the team.
In addition, completing the final story area of the event would reward players with a special piece of artwork for the Trainer Lodge.
Plot
After being invited to a winter party by Juliana, Arven is wondering with his Mabosstiff and Scovillain about what he should cook, especially having promised to make something super special despite a lack of experience in attending such occasions. He is spotted by Gladion, who hears him out and then invites him to join his own meeting with Siebold to learn to prepare a few dishes for his own winter family with his family.
Meeting up with Lillie as well, Siebold starts off by asking each of them what kind of dishes they'd like to make. Lillie and Gladion want to make something to thank their mother for working hard for the family, though Arven doesn't have much of an idea beyond wanting to make something different than usual. Scovillain emerges from its Poké Ball, to Arven's surprise. He explains to Lille how Scovillain are connected to cooking, which both Gladion and Siebold surmise means it wants to help him cook. Siebold further suggests that he let Scovillain participate, noting that the artistry of a dish is better when you have an idea of who you're cooking it for. Thinking back to his friends, Arven settles on an idea for what he wants to make.
On the day of the winter party, Arven has just about finished getting gifts and ingredients when he overhears Lusamine's call to Gladion and Lillie about how she may not be able to make it to their party due to work. The two siblings try to explain how it's a regular occurrence and they're used to it, but Arven, given his own issues with his parents, is having none of it and storms towards the Aether Foundation building with his Pokemon in tow, intending to give Lusamine a piece of his mind. To his surprise, however, he finds out that the work that is holding up Lusamine is the search of a missing Pokemon that she is determined to reunite with its Trainer, despite the pleadings of her employees who are more than willing to take on the caseload for her. Seeing how Lusamine isn't as he thought, Arven apologises and decides to help out so that Lusamine can spend time with her children.
Arven's search brings him to the forest just as his friends arrive. Hearing Arven muse about how the Pokemon must be hungry by now sparks an idea for Juliana who suggests they lure it out with Arven's cooking, which also causes Penny to remark that their gift for him would be fitting the occasion, even if it's a bit early. Now dressed in his Holiday outfit, Arven whips up some spicy food that quickly lures in the missing Hoppip.
With the crisis over, Gladion, Lusamine and Lillie thank Arven for their help. He leaves to meet up with his own friends, running into Siebold along the way. Though Arven wasn't able to make the dish he had been planning due to having used the ingredients for the food to lure out the Hoppip, Siebold trusts that it would have tasted wonderful as long as he put his love in it. Finally meeting up with his friends, Penny jokes that she'd starting to wonder if they should have ordered take-out, and Arven in turn remarks that it's his turn to give them presents.
