Jasmine's Battle Prep (Japanese: 決戦に向けて ミカン編 Facing the Decisive Battle: Mikan Arc) was a costume event in Pokémon Masters EX, and a sub-story of the costume event Poké War Games. It was focused on the sync pair Jasmine (Special Costume) & Celesteela.
The "Jasmine Seasonal Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Jasmine (Special Costume) & Celesteela starting on November 18, 2021 and lasting until the end of the event.
During this event, players had to use a Story Key, which could be obtained by completing a story area in Poké War Games, to unlock the event's area info. Once unlocked, players could earn Event Vouchers Z from battles that could be redeemed in the shop. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day. Extra vouchers and Story Keys were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.
Players could battle with Diantha (Special Costume) & Keldeo, Hilda (Special Costume) & Diancie, Guzma (Special Costume) & Buzzwole, or Jasmine (Special Costume) & Celesteela to obtain +0.6× bonus vouchers; Falkner & Swellow to obtain +0.4× bonus vouchers; and Koga & Crobat, Janine & Ariados, Erika & Vileplume, or Valerie & Sylveon to obtain +0.2× bonus vouchers.
During the reruns of Poké War Games, this event's story and battles were combined with the other sub-stories into Battle Prep.
Plot
A few days before the Battle of the Golden Spheres, Hilda finds Jasmine and her Celesteela and Steelix in the city preparing to train. Jasmine ponders the best way to get along with Celesteela, unfamiliar with the concept of Ultra Beasts. Seeing her confusion, Hilda reaches out to Lusamine and Steven to help answer Jasmine's questions. To put Jasmine's mind at ease, Lusamine draws connections between Ultra Beasts and other Pokémon to establish familiarity, and Steven encourages Jasmine to let Celesteela become comfortable with her methods of battling. Seeing that Jasmine is content with their responses, Hilda promptly proposes a battle to practice. Jasmine comes out victorious and thanks everyone for their support.
