Hilda's Battle Prep (Japanese: 決戦に向けて トウコ編 Facing the Decisive Battle: Touko Arc) was a costume event in Pokémon Masters EX, and a sub-story of the costume event Poké War Games. It was focused on the sync pair Hilda (Special Costume) & Diancie.
The "Hilda Seasonal Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Hilda (Special Costume) & Diancie starting on November 4, 2021 and lasting until the end of the event.
During this event, players had to use a Story Key, which could be obtained by completing a story area in Poké War Games, to unlock the event's area info. Once unlocked, players could earn Event Vouchers X from battles that could be redeemed in the shop. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day. Extra vouchers and Story Keys were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.
Players could battle with Diantha (Special Costume) & Keldeo, Hilda (Special Costume) & Diancie, Guzma (Special Costume) & Buzzwole, or Jasmine (Special Costume) & Celesteela to obtain +0.6× bonus vouchers; Fantina & Mismagius or Glacia & Glalie to obtain +0.4× bonus vouchers; and Wikstrom & Aegislash, Siebold & Clawitzer, Lt. Surge & Voltorb/Electrode, or Korrina & Lucario to obtain +0.2× bonus vouchers.
During the reruns of Poké War Games, this event's story and battles were combined with the other sub-stories into Battle Prep.
Plot
A few days before the Battle of the Golden Spheres, Rosa, Hilda, and Jasmine converse in the Battle Villa hall in anticipation for the battles that will take place during the event. Rosa encourages the two about the fun in battling while in costume, reminiscing on her experiences as an actress at Pokéstar Studios. Hilda begins to take her encouragement seriously in hopes of matching the talents of superstars like Diantha and Lisia, though Rosa reminds her to also enjoy the process of acting in her own way. Hilda and Jasmine proceed to have a battle to practice; Hilda is declared the winner by Rosa. While the two battlers strive to get stronger for the event, Sabrina, who watched the battle, congratulates them on their strength and compliments their costumes.
