Ancient Visitor (Japanese: 古代からの訪問者 Visitor from the Ancient Times) was a story event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on the sync pair Sygna Suit Nemona & Scream Tail.

The "Sygna Suit Nemona Master Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Sygna Suit Nemona & Scream Tail for the duration of the event.

This event featured event points, a currency that players could earn by completing battles. Players received rewards based on the number of points accumulated, including 5★ Scout Tickets, a Strike Move Candy Coin, an Ever Pin, and medals. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day.

The player could battle using Sygna Suit Nemona & Scream Tail to obtain +0.6× bonus points; Arven & Mabosstiff, Penny & Sylveon, or Anabel & Snorlax to obtain +0.4× bonus points; and any unlisted sync pairs with the Fairy or Paldea theme skills to obtain +0.2× bonus points.

This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with one or fewer sync pairs fainting and sync pairs with specific theme skills on the team.

From the beginning of the event to October 2, 2024, a splash screen featuring art of Arven & Mabosstiff, Sygna Suit Nemona, and Penny was displayed when opening the game.

Plot

Arven and Penny meet up together, expecting to be joined by Nemona, but she has yet to arrive. Assuming that she is in a battle, the two set off to look for her. When they find her, they are shocked to see her fighting alongside a Scream Tail. After the battle, she apologizes for her tardiness, oblivious to the others' surprise to see her with a Pokémon they had encountered in the Great Crater of Paldea. When Penny asks about Scream Tail, Nemona explains that she found it by itself, battled it, and decided that they got along well with each other. Arven and Penny remind Nemona of the dangers of partnering with a Pokémon from Area Zero, deciding they should first visit Jacq and Geeta.

When the group finds the two, Jacq explains that Scream Tail is said to have traveled across time and space to arrive in Paldea. Acknowledging that Paradox Pokémon are dangerous, Geeta decides it is okay to leave Scream Tail with a Trainer as skilled as Nemona. As she begins to wonder how Scream Tail arrived in Pasio in the first place, a voice chimes in to mention that it is perfectly normal for both people and Pokémon to arrive on the island through different times and eras. Everyone turns in surprise to see Volo, who has suddenly appeared. Volo does not have much to add to the conversation, as Arven points out, but he enthuses over the possibility of other rare Pokémon arriving in Pasio. Right as Geeta is about to report Scream Tail's arrival to Lear, she receives a call from him, alerting her that Team Break is causing trouble. Nemona volunteers to join the battle against them, running off with Scream Tail.

In the plaza, Nemona finds Anabel and Looker fighting Team Break. She battles with them while sharing introductions, and easily defeats the Grunts. Impressed with Anabel's skill, Nemona asks her if she was ever a Gym Leader or an Elite Four member. Looker grows rather uncomfortable, and Nemona notices a shift in Anabel's mood. This prompts Anabel to reveal she has no memories of her past from before she joined the International Police. She then asks to know about Scream Tail, and after Nemona explains what she learned from Jacq, Anabel is able to relate to the Paradox Pokémon as someone who embraces who she is in the present. The two make plans to battle later, and as Anabel leaves, Nemona begins to consider her own future.

Nemona meets up with Arven and Penny and asks them where they think her future will take her. The two are near certain that she will end up in a field related to Pokémon battling, and Nemona considers this with a smile. She then asks the same question to them, with Arven knowing he will be a cook, and Penny thinking of a career in something related to computers. Arven encourages them to ask people in Pasio who already do what they are interested in. This leads Nemona to immediately run off to meet employed Trainers on Pasio, such as Palmer, Argenta, Roxanne, and Cheren.

Later, Nemona becomes excited thinking about the many different paths she could take in life. To her surprise, Volo approaches her to ask about Scream Tail. Explaining that she has been thinking about her future, Nemona asks Volo how he decided to become a merchant. Volo simply tells her that he has forgotten, which Nemona does not anticipate. He then explains that very few people follow through with their future exactly how they had planned, then asks her if she would take the chance to redo her life if she didn't become the ideal version of herself. Nemona asserts that she would not, as she would never want to forget all of the fun she had along the way. Volo points out that Nemona does not seem to be concerned about the future after all. This causes her to share a glance with Scream Tail, and Nemona is suddenly cheered up. Thanking him, she announces that she has her answer now, then takes off running with Scream Tail. After Volo waves goodbye, he thinks to himself that no one who would decide the best future for themselves would stray from their plans, mentioning that he does not.

Finding Anabel by the shore sometime later, Nemona tells her that, while she was initially concerned about her future, Scream Tail has inspired her to enjoy her life in the present. She explains that while she didn't know the Anabel of the past, the only Anabel she needs to know is the one right in front of her. Anabel considers that her life could have gone in many different directions, but she will continue to live every moment to the fullest.

The next day, Nemona tells Scream Tail that she is happy to have met it, and that she has much to look forward to in life. Arven and Penny call out to her from nearby, and she gladly joins them with Scream Tail. The three smile and laugh together, enjoying their lives as they are in the present.
