Master Trainers

In light of the edit warring, seeking an opinion before adding it to the page -- the Rhyhorn and Rhydon master trainers, Farkas and Eugene, seem to be a reference to Bulk and Skull from Power Rangers. For what it has to do with the characters, the Dinosaur-like design of Rhydon, or the tough guy demeanor of the two, could be points of note. Drake Clawfang (talk) 05:58, 1 January 2019 (UTC)

I can see that, both points are valid enough connections.--ForceFire 06:08, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
Cool, thanks. Drake Clawfang (talk) 06:13, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
What about the ones that were removed? In my eyes, they're perfectly valid references and thus worthy of being there. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 12:58, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
If you'd notice, Drake Clawfang provided two other points other than their names. That's why I accepted that one, and not the ones I removed.--ForceFire 13:05, 2 January 2019 (UTC)

Hey, heads up. Mckenzie6361 (talkcontribs) has quite the talk page. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 18:02, 1 January 2019 (UTC)

Dealt with.--ForceFire 03:31, 2 January 2019 (UTC)

Special spawns

How should these so called "special spawns" be added to the Let's Go encounter lists? Without them, the lists remain incomplete. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 12:59, 2 January 2019 (UTC)

It's one of the things the other staff members have been discussing.--ForceFire 13:05, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
How's it going? Earlier today, a user came to me asking about it as well. What's keeping them from being added? Haven't you yet reached an agreement on how to display them or something? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 13:54, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
The way Chosen implemented them was the main suggestion, which I'm not against.--ForceFire 04:10, 3 January 2019 (UTC)

Articles for the mainspace

I've got several character and location pages completed, I was hoping you could have a look over them and hopefully move them to the mainspace if deemed notable and complete enough. The Marina Group page is needing only images, but I'll wait to see if you think it is notable or not. Also, all of the articles previously marked as not notable can now been deleted, as all the information on those pages has been placed into the Recurring wild Pokémon in the anime. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 03:08, 3 January 2019 (UTC)

I'll look at all your suggested userpages at some point.--ForceFire 04:10, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Articles that are fine for mainspacing:
User:PardescanSlowbro/Bewear's Den
User:PardescanSlowbro/Pokémon hunters (M21)
User:PardescanSlowbro/Pokémon poacher (M04)
Articles I'm a little unsure of (they're notability), get second opinions:
User:PardescanSlowbro/Luka's great-grandfather
User:PardescanSlowbro/News Crew (M03)
User:PardescanSlowbro/Misty Village
User:PardescanSlowbro/Mountain Lighthouse
User:PardescanSlowbro/Unnamed Island (EP060)
Notable, but needs much more work
User:PardescanSlowbro/Coumarine City Festival
User:PardescanSlowbro/The Marina Group
For User:PardescanSlowbro/Pershie, it's not notable as of right now. Just wait and see if it does anything major in future episodes.--ForceFire 05:59, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
What about all the mainspace candidates I suggested earlier last year? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 09:56, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
Tide Song Hotel and Kantonian Gym? Never got a definite answer on whether those are needed or not, at the time I asked. Haven't really asked again since other things took priority. Looker events can be made.--ForceFire 11:44, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
Thanks Force Fire, feel free to move the ready articles onto the mainspace and I'll continue to work on the others. Thanks again. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 06:48, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
I've actually already moved the ones that were approved--BigDocFan (talk) 07:50, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
Thanks BigDocFan. I hadn't noticed because the links on my userpage are still connected to the articles, I'm not sure how the redirects are deleted though, but in the past I've seen admins move pages without leaving a redirect. Thanks. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 09:28, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
I've deleted the redirects. Admins have the ability to move pages without leaving a redirect behind.--ForceFire 09:35, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
Thanks. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 09:36, 8 January 2019 (UTC)

How are my mainspace candidates coming along? It's been half a year since I brought them up. Can they be mainspaced soon?

Yeah, I've forgotten to remove the "under construction" part, but still, I feel like it's high time that these pages got mainspaced. What do you think? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:57, 11 February 2019 (UTC)

I think you're better off asking other admins if those pages are notable. All I can do is re-iterate that the discussion among the staff regarding those articles just never took off, and with me not having any strong opinions whether they should be mainspaced, haven't really bothered asking again.--ForceFire 05:01, 12 February 2019 (UTC)
Okay. I'll give it a try at some point. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 09:35, 12 February 2019 (UTC)
Hi ForceFire, I've since consulted Abcboy regarded several of my articles, according to him the following pages are notable and can be mainspaced:
User:PardescanSlowbro/Luka's great-grandfather
User:PardescanSlowbro/Misty Village
Also these pages which were said to be okay to be mainspaced are now ready:
User:PardescanSlowbro/Lugia (anime)
User:PardescanSlowbro/Malamar (anime)
User:PardescanSlowbro/Deoxys (anime)
The Mountain Lighthouse page can now be deleted as it has been merged with the Misty Village page. Thanks in advance, PardescanSlowbro (talk) 04:57, 16 February 2019 (UTC)
Deoxys (anime), per notability requirements isn't notable, now that I think about it. I've moved everything else and deleted the lighthouse page.--ForceFire 08:06, 16 February 2019 (UTC)
Thank you for doing that. The Deoxys {anime} page can now be deleted as well, as I've since added the information to the recurring Pokémon in the anime page. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 04:39, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
Would it be worth creating a recurring anime character page or category to make it easier to search up human characters that have appeared in more than one episode? We have one for recurring Pokémon characters, and the characters of the day have their own page.PardescanSlowbro (talk) 08:53, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
No. There's way too many of them. And if the recurring Pokémon page is being called to spit, then a recurring human characters page isn't going to work either.--ForceFire 09:31, 20 February 2019 (UTC)

It seems the Kantonian Gym is due to appear in the anime within a few weeks. Who could I contact to get my articles mainspaced or a permission to do it myself? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 14:59, 5 April 2019 (UTC)

You already contacted abcboy (I think), best to wait a response or alert him again. I know it's been months since you asked, but that should tell you that it's not of a high priority. Worst case, it'll get mentioned that it appeared in the anime on the page it (Kantonian Gym) is already on.--ForceFire 05:16, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
Forgive me. It's been so long I had forgotten all about it. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 07:41, 6 April 2019 (UTC)

Do you know of any Bulbapedian(s) who know proper Korean & Chinese romanizations?

I just finished editing and formatting my List of common phrases from fortune-teller tents (Festival Plaza) in other languages. However, I am not yet asking you to check if it is worthy of mainspacing, but rather ask you a side question: Do you know of any Bulbapedia contributor(s) fluent in Korean who can review the Korean romanizations in my page above and make any corrections there? And/or any Chinese-fluent Bulbapedian(s) who can do the same thing for the pinyin in the same page? Thankee! --SilSinn (TIDs: 768426S, 123446UM) (talk) 09:26, 3 January 2019 (UTC)

Check the Staff page to see who's fluent in what (although it doesn't say who's fluent in Korean). I don't know of any normal user that can speak and knows either language.--ForceFire 09:38, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
The only reason Korean isn’t mentioned there is because there is no Korean wiki in Encyclopædiæ Pokémonis. The Staff page mentions two admins with knowledge of Chinese, 超龍Chao and Carmen (Talk | contribs), so I just asked them for reviewing at least the Chinese pinyin in my page. Carmen’s userpage says she knows some Korean, so I also asked her about the romaja in my draft article. Thankee! --SilSinn (TIDs: 768426S, 123446UM) (talk) 10:25, 3 January 2019 (UTC)

Template: Item for LGPE

Thanks for updating the Template: Item. I already updated the Candy page for the update. It appears that the PE doesn't show up properly, however.

Just one other request: do you think you can change all the "lgpe" to just "pe" for the sake of consistent conventions? Thanks. TehPerson (talk) 17:49, 4 January 2019 (UTC)

Fixed the issue with the game abbreviation. Also changed every instance of lgpe to pe.--ForceFire 03:53, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
The template works now (eg in Candy and Berry). While we're on the issue of updating templates, can you take a quick look at Template:Stats and Template:Pokémon/7? It's been a while since they've been updated for LGPE, so I made my tested versions of those templates and left the test cases in their respective Talk pages. Thanks! TehPerson (talk) 19:02, 5 January 2019 (UTC)

Oranguru's Place

Last year, I asked abcboy whether User:BigDocFan/Oranguru's Place was good for mainspacing, his only complaint about the article was its name and would speak with other admin about it. This was sometime ago and I haven't heard anything back though I have asked him about it.--BigDocFan (talk) 09:08, 5 January 2019 (UTC)

I've asked the other admins, awaiting a response. Personally, I don't think it's notable since it was only important for one episode. But since this series is on-going, it could be important in a future episode (thus could change my mind).--ForceFire 11:46, 5 January 2019 (UTC)

My trivia on protect and hidden power

First, I wrote "learned by most species", not "used by most species". Pokemon use struggle; they do not learn struggle. Second, I looked through the entire list of near-universal TM moves, and protect and hidden power really were the most universal of all of them. sumwun (talk) 05:14, 8 January 2019 (UTC)

Don't add back removed trivia. I can see from the table on the TM page that their are several moves that are near universal. Attract, Frustration, Rest, Return so on so forth.--ForceFire 06:00, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
This is a list of currently "near-universal" TMs and the number of Pokemon that can't learn each.
Attract: most of these
Confide: 24
Double Team: 25
Facade: 31
Frustration: 23
Hidden Power: 21
Protect: 21
Rest: 29
Return: 23
Round: 25
Sleep Talk: 23
Substitute: 22
Swagger: 28
Toxic: 23
As you can see, protect and hidden power are the most learned moves. sumwun (talk) 00:40, 17 January 2019 (UTC)

Bewear Rescues

Was wondering if User:BigDocFan/Bewear Rescues might be worth mainspacing as a running gag?--BigDocFan (talk) 17:33, 9 January 2019 (UTC)

The table could be presented a bit better. I think it's fine to have an article about, though ask for second opinions.--ForceFire 04:44, 10 January 2019 (UTC)

Pointless edits

One day, I was checking the log of blocked users and saw a handful being blocked for 30 days for “making pointless edits”. How does Bulbapedia define pointless edit and could you provide a few examples of what could be considered to be pointless edits (so that I do not make the same mistakes and end up like those monthly losers)? ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM) (talk) 05:26, 12 January 2019 (UTC)

Depends on the edit. Changing sentences to say the exact same thing as it was before, adding info and immediately reverting yourself, adding unecessary white space, are some of the examples.--ForceFire 06:32, 12 January 2019 (UTC)

Underleveled Pokémon page

I'm requesting that we should start a page with a list of all underleveled Pokémon owned by the trainers (excluding the Pokémon from the battle facilities). I detected that in Gen II games, if you chose Cyndaquil, Silver has a level 16 Croconaw, but its lowest natural level is 18. TheICTLiker4 (talk) 07:11, 12 January 2019 (UTC)

Spriteit has a userpage that covers underleveled Pokémon.--ForceFire 07:43, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
Does Spriteit’s page qualify for mainspacing? Because userpages do not get a lot of traffic and do not usually show up in search engine results. ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM) (talk) 15:32, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
In its current state, probably not. If anyone wants to know, just give them the link to the userpage and they'll edit it. Don't worry about it not getting "traffic". It'll get traffic if you share it around.--ForceFire 03:51, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

Usertags for tagging suspected sockpuppets and their sockmasters

I just made two usertag templates that could be worth your attention as to whether they could be approved for templatespacing:

Admins could use these usertags for temporarily tagging sockpuppets and sockmasters on their userpages (at least until such pages are hit with Perish Song) in a fashion not unlike what is done on Wikipedia (where they use wp:Template:Sockpuppet and wp:Template:Sockpuppeteer for the same purpose). ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM) (talk) 01:54, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

Just because Wikipedia does a thing, does not mean we have to do the same. We have our own rules and guidelines, and they have theirs. I don't think it's necessary. At all. It's basically throwing around accusations at possibly innocent users, even if you have all those parameters.--ForceFire 03:51, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
Well, at least I hope you understood my choice of Pokémon (Shuppet for sockpuppet, Hypno for sockmaster) for the usertags, even if they were just defeated with Perish Song. At least I had fun practicing complex wikicode conditionals. ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM) (talk) 04:44, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

Sorry for vandalising

So, how it happened. My brother was joking around, and did like, that, and he clicked on Save, though he didn't want to. Dunno how you can mistake left click with right click, but sorry :( - unsigned comment from SeeYaLater (talkcontribs)

Links to fan sites and theory sites

Do we provide such links or references in any article? Or is it the same problem of copyrights to avoid them? Eastern Goldfinch (talk) 15:15, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

Using fan sites and theory sites as references are not allowed, the former because they are fan sites and the latter because theories are mostly just speculation and rumors. Also depends on what you're asking about.--ForceFire 15:45, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
Aging in the anime. Can this page cover Ash's age theories? Eastern Goldfinch (talk) 16:36, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
While the page is basically fan speculation, referencing theory sites is still not allowed.--ForceFire 03:43, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
Ok. But adding theories is allowed? If not, then I suppose someone would have called for deleting a page like this... Eastern Goldfinch (talk) 20:01, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

Creating a new page on how Gastly can learn the punch moves.

So, you can say it's kinda a theory. But I'm not stretching anything at all, not even medium. Just some good ol' theory. - unsigned comment from SeeYaLater (talkcontribs)

Read Gastly's biology section.--ForceFire 16:19, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

Was wondering if you could check if Gladion's Umbreon and User:05308/Gladion's Lycanroc were notable enough to be mainspaced?--BigDocFan (talk) 17:25, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

I've brought them up with the others.--ForceFire 03:43, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

Request to delete unneeded redirect

I had just renamed a draft template in my userspace, leaving behind a redirect. I now want an admin to delete the now-unneeded redirect page:

 • User:SilSinn9801/Fashion/middle (Abcboy (talk) already deleted it, so don’t worry about this one)

‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM) (talk) 18:13, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

I also request the deletion of these two no-longer-needed draft templates:

‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM) (talk) 22:27, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

Done.--ForceFire 03:43, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

so do u really think safari balls should be listed under items? i sure as hell dont. i dont think of that entry being helpful/important at all. --EternalDragonX (talk) 12:52, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

I don't have a solid opinion on this. I don't mind either way.--ForceFire 04:58, 15 January 2019 (UTC)

Was wondering if the following websites are acceptable sources wallpaper?

Should I add this to the Excape from Gengar's mansion thing (btw this is daytime)? If so, I can't do that because it's not a thing in Bulbapedia on it's own. SeeYaLater (sandbox) (talk) 18:33, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

Minigames from aren't notable for their own articles.--ForceFire 04:58, 15 January 2019 (UTC)

Generation VII remake Pokémon

I was writing about it in the sense that all previous remakes have the ability to receive all Pokemon from all generations up until that game, either during the postgame or storyline. LGPE regress on this and only allows for the original 151 plus Meltan and Melmetal. Argentarus (talk) 06:33, 15 January 2019 (UTC)

I think post-game shouldn't count, since it's obvious that post game will have mons from outside the original generation. If LGPE adds Meltan and Melmetal, then that obviously makes the trivia false.--ForceFire 12:33, 15 January 2019 (UTC)
Then maybe more like "its the first remake to limit its own National Dex down to the generation that is being remade throughout the entire game". Pokemon from Gens 2-7, besides Meltan and Melmetal, can't be sent from GO and don't exist in the game as obtainable Pokemon.
FireRed and LeafGreen, even though the Gen 2 and 3 Pokemon only appear in the postgame, counts as it and all of the other remakes are being viewed in their entirety. FRLG has data for the Pokemon from the first three generations, they exist as obtainable Pokemon in the data. LGPE is the first remake where we don't get Pokemon from the later generations, besides Meltan and Melmetal, throughout the entire game; it sticks pretty closely to first generation's Pokedex besides the two mythicals and Alolan formes. Argentarus (talk) 23:10, 15 January 2019 (UTC)
"besides Meltan and Melmetal". That already makes the trivia false. They're in the game, therefore it is not limited to the original listing.--ForceFire 06:00, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
So then, how about additions? So then: "LGPE is the first remake to limit its Pokedex down to Pokemon from the generation that is being remade throughout the entire game, with the addition of Meltan and Melmetal." and "Every Pokemon from the later generations is absent, with the exception of Meltan and Melmetal, which were just newly introduced."
I've been stating my case for this so far and I'd like to hear your side. You seem pretty adamant about not letting this make it to the Trivia subsection Argentarus (talk) 17:43, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
The LGPE page's trivia section already has "not every Pokémon revealed at the time is programmed into the games" which I think is a concise and clear way of putting it. --Celadonkey (talk) 22:11, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
The trivia is contradicting itself. It's saying it's the first to not have any additions to its original listing, yet it still adds Meltan and Melmetal.--ForceFire 04:56, 17 January 2019 (UTC)

Received a message on my talk page from DoveSmith which reads Please stop your disruptive editing as you did to Anela. You may be blocked from editing Bulbapedia if you continue. From what I can tell, I did little wrong to warrant the message, especially as he isn't admin so thought I would ask you as admin about this just to clarify any issues.--BigDocFan (talk) 10:56, 15 January 2019 (UTC)

Trying to make my show/hide usertag box work correctly...

My problem with expandable usertag boxes… (link to my PhotoBucket-stored image)

I am trying to turn my ridiculously-long box of usertags into a simple box of expandable usertag fields (using your infobox template as an idea), but I am not getting the results I want. If you see my PhotoBucket image above, you’ll see that I specified my headers to be horizontally centered within the box, but they only stay centered when they are collapsed; when I expand them by clicking on Show, they move to the far right (leaving a ridiculously-large gap to the left), and the usertags below such headers, rather than filling the whole width of the box, only fill an amount equal to the void to the left of the headers (leaving unsightly gaps to their right). This is my current partial wikicode:

{|style="{{roundy|16px}}; text-align:center; border:2px solid #000; background:#000; color: #fff; margin-right:8px; margin-bottom:8px; float:right; font-size:90%; width:320px;"
|'''{{Anchor|Usertags|Additional Usertags}}'''
{|width="100%" class="expandable" style="{{roundy|10px}}; text-align:center; background:red; color:#000; font-size:13.5px;"
!style="{{roundy|9px}}; background:#000; color:#fff; text-align:center"|''Personal stats''
|{{User Country|628|the United States|0000DD|DD0000|FFFFFF}}
<!-- other usertags below the Personal stats header -->
<!-- other expandable boxes containing additional usertags under different headers -->

I want both my headers and my usertags to fill the whole width of the box when expanded, rather than having headers to the right and usertags to the left. How do I fix this? ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM) (talk) 00:20, 16 January 2019 (UTC)

Possible Mainspace

Was thinking User:Super10ZX/Scott Williams might be notable enough for mainspacing so went to do it, only to get 'You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reason: A page of that name already exists, or the name you have chosen is not valid. Please choose another name.' Could you check if the page is notable enough and if it is, could you sort it out please?--BigDocFan (talk) 16:53, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

I think the biography section should be filled out first. Other than that, it's good to go. Once the biography has been expanded, I'll move the article over the existing redirect.--ForceFire 05:00, 22 January 2019 (UTC)
With help from GrammarFreak, we have added a biography--BigDocFan (talk) 09:08, 23 January 2019 (UTC)
I think that's good enough for a start (I assume date of birth and such isn't readily available?). I've moved the article.--ForceFire 13:08, 23 January 2019 (UTC)
I looked over for all available information, sadly a date of birth couldn't be found--BigDocFan (talk) 14:15, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

dont know if you need to be reminded but im still getting internal error on the bottom of my pages. if you dont, just lemme know; i wont bring it up again --EternalDragonX (talk) 23:42, 21 January 2019 (UTC)

Not really sure what the progress on this is, I'm assuming it's still being looked into. The internal errors comes and goes on my end.--ForceFire 04:58, 22 January 2019 (UTC)

Please let me create pages, Force Fire! I have no permission!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - unsigned comment from Mjhenry93 (talkcontribs)

First of all, calm down. Second of all, you must be Autoconfirmed to be able to make pages.--ForceFire 04:06, 26 January 2019 (UTC)
And third, you MUST sign on every talk page by using 4 tildes (~~~~). Don't change the talk page posts from the past because there will be an incorrect timestamp. Of course, I'm not saying that to you, Force Fire. I'm saying this to Mjhenry93.
To become autoconfirmed, you must assist Bulbapedia by editing a certain number of pages and having your account existing for a certain amount of time. Those values are kept secret. When I joined Bulbapedia, I had no permission to edit the page MissingNo., but now, I can edit it (since I'm autoconfirmed). Being autoconfirmed ALSO allows you to edit semi-protected pages, like MissingNo.
I also wasn't able to send images to the Archives, but now I can.
Thank you in advance. --TheICTLiker4 11:12, 23 July 2019 (UTC)

Error 503

Hey! Every time I try to click on an article, I keep getting a "Error 503 Backend fetch failed" message. I eventually manage to get through after refreshing the page a couple of times, but it's getting frustrating already. Do you know what's going on? GrammarFreak01 (talk) 01:42, 31 January 2019 (UTC)

And the problem's just getting worse. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 01:55, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
We're well aware of the issue and is getting looked into.--ForceFire 06:39, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
Thanks. I'm not sure if the staff did something, but it looks like the problem has already been fixed for me. I'll check back with you if it starts happening again. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 00:21, 1 February 2019 (UTC)

[1] Can you check this? It was reverted. Eastern Goldfinch (talk) 13:22, 5 February 2019 (UTC)

It was reverted because there was consensus that the armadillo tidbit is way too insignificant for inclusion. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 03:32, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
The word "armadillo" comes from "armor" anyway, so it's redundant. And the tail thing isn't significant, as many unrelated Pokémon share design traits.--ForceFire 05:02, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

Near-universal TMs

What is the definition of "near-universal"? sumwun (talk) 04:52, 11 February 2019 (UTC)

"Can be learns by almost all Pokémon". There is no set number, it is subjective to try and make up a max number. Just leave it.--ForceFire 04:55, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
How is "almost" any less subjective? What purpose does a definition like that have? With a definition like that, how are editors supposed to know whether the list is complete? sumwun (talk) 16:51, 17 February 2019 (UTC)

First to appear outside the League

I thought Koga was the first one because he appeared in his gym in the Generation 1 games. sumwun (talk) 15:31, 11 February 2019 (UTC)

He appeared at his Gym before he became an Elite Four member. That's why it doesn't count. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 15:43, 11 February 2019 (UTC)

Pokémon quest images.

Am I allowed to put Pokémon Quest images to the sprites page? - unsigned comment from SeeYaLater (talkcontribs)

If you mean their models, then those would go in the side series template, not the sprite box. As for whether you can add them, no, since the template doesn't have support of Quest information. That would need to get added at some point.--ForceFire 05:16, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

Trying to make my show/hide usertag box work correctly... REPOST

I had posted this above several weeks ago, but received no response, so I am reposting this:

|{{User Country|628|the United States|0000DD|DD0000|FFFFFF}}
<!-- other usertags below the Personal stats header -->
<!-- other expandable boxes containing additional usertags under different headers -->

I want both my headers and my usertags to fill the whole width of the box when expanded, rather than having headers to the right and usertags to the left. How do I fix this? ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM) (talk) 23:55, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

That's also a problem in my infobox as well, though I never really bothered to check why it does that and just left it as is. The expandable tags is something that I'm not too knowledgeable on, especially when used in templates. Try asking someone that would know what's wrong with them.--ForceFire 07:12, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
I found the solution to our common problem, courtesy of Willyh106 ㅓTalkㅏ:
{| cellspacing="3" cellpadding="3" class="collapsible" align="right" style="{{roundy|20px}}; border: 5px solid #000; background: red; width: 320px"
| cellpadding="3" align="center" style="font-size:120%; color:#fff" | '''Usertags'''
<!-- Header 1 -->
|- class="collapsible" <!-- show by default -->
| style="{{roundy|16px}}; background: #000; color: #fff" | '''''Header 1'''''
|{{Usertag 1.1}}
{{Usertag 1.2}}
<!-- Header 2 -->
|- class="expandable" <!-- hide by default -->
| style="{{roundy|16px}}; background: #000; color: #fff" | '''''Header 2'''''
| <!-- more usertags -->
<!-- more headers -->
Just copy it and change colors, widths, font sizes, styles (bold/italic), headers, usertags, and collapsible/expandable classes (depending on whether you want to show/hide some usertag lists by default). Or allow me to turn all this wikicode into a series of table templates (like those made by Tiddlywinks for Fashion item) so that everyone can save time and effort when building their userpages (and thus have way more time available for working on productive edits). ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM💬 22:34, 15 February 2019 (UTC)

New proposed article: List of Pokémon that appear each in only one regional Pokédex

I made this article proposal which I would like an admin like you to consider for mainspacing:

Each Pokémon in my proposed list above has so far appeared in just one regional Pokédex (the one that debuted in its corresponding generation), as opposed to those who appeared in every regional Pokédex to date and those who appeared in none. Because all of the original 151 Kanto Pokémon also appeared in the Johto Pokédex, none of them is in my list above, thus leaving Meltan and Melmetal as the sole representatives of Kanto in such a list. Also not on this list are those Pokémon that appeared in at least two regional Pokédices (because I do not like to say Pokédexes), even if they did not appear in every Pokédex.

If this list is ever approved for mainspaced, then the {{pokelist}} navbox template may need to be updated to include this list.

I already notified Tiddlywinks (talk) about this proposed article for consideration.

On average, how long does it take for staff to review a proposed article and reach a decision on whether to approve it or not?

P.S. the speech balloon on my signature is not an inline image, but a font character escaped via an HTML hex code (💬, officially termed a numeric character reference), so it should be acceptable under the Signature policy. If I were to directly type the character without first escaping it, then the wikicode processor, for some technical reason that seems to apply to all characters beyond U+FFFF, would stop at that character and truncate the remainder of the wikicode, as I just discussed here. ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM💬 04:19, 15 February 2019 (UTC)

It will be under consideration. There is no "average" time an article gets mainspaced. It depends on what article it is and if it is needed. Also, any articles proposal should have the {{mainspace}} at the very top and categories should not be added to the proposed article until after it has been mainspaced. - unsigned comment from Force Fire (talkcontribs)
Is it safe to rename the page in the meantime? Tiddlywinks suggested removing the word “each” from the title. Also, you forgot to sign your comment. ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM💬 06:41, 16 February 2019 (UTC)

Z-Move descriptions

I personally have not understood why the Z-Move descriptions when used in the anime or manga are not only displayed on their respective articles (where they definitely do belong) but also on the articles of Pokémon that have used them. Aren't those kinds of descriptions on Pokémon articles supposed to be reserved for improvised moves and combo moves, i.e. moves that don't exist in the games and thus must be described on the Pokémon's own articles due to those moves not having their own pages to be described on? Don't move articles have descriptions of the move specifically to avoid the need to put them on the articles of Pokémon that have used them?
I've always seen that Z-Moves should be listed with the same template used to list other moves used by a Pokémon, just in a separate section. Like how, for example, May's Munchlax and James's Mime Jr.'s "Moves used" sections have subsections for moves they've used through moves that call other moves, like Metronome or Mimic.
I hope you understood what I was trying to say. What do you think? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 15:05, 21 February 2019 (UTC)

I'm not too sure on the reasoning, but they're probably split because they're special moves? I've inquired with the other staff members about it.--ForceFire 10:25, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
Special moves or not, I see the descriptions belonging only to the move pages, if such exists. But thank you. I'll be waiting for replies. Hopefully they'll come soon. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:42, 22 February 2019 (UTC)

Latter half of the trivia

It says "transport a human being at sea." That was transcribed character by character, not copy pasted. Now that I've read it, what's next? Also I posted a new comment about TMs. sumwun (talk) 16:53, 23 February 2019 (UTC)

I don't think you understand what the trivia is saying. It's saying that there are Pokémon that can use Surf that don't appear to have the physique to be able to carry a person. It is not saying that they don't have the physique to perform the move. And you're "what's next?" comment furthers my suspicions that you don't understand the trivia. Did you really just read it and not try to understand what is was trying to say?
On the TMs, I already said to leave it. It's fine the way it is. Trying to make up a number is more subjective than the vague "near universal."--ForceFire 02:46, 24 February 2019 (UTC)
First, I don't think you can expect people to understand everything they read. Isn't that what talk pages are for? As for the trivium about surf, isn't carrying a person part of performing the move? If no, why not? And isn't it true that every HM move that involves carrying a person can be learned by Pokemon that don't look like they can carry people, making this trivium not unique to surf?
If you set a vague definition and list all the TMs that fit the definition, how is that list useful to anyone? How are editors like me supposed to know whether the list is complete? sumwun (talk) 21:44, 24 February 2019 (UTC)
The trivia was neither confusing or difficult to understand, it was straight to the point. There's a difference between using a move in battle and using a move to transport people. You're thinking of the former when the trivia is talking about the latter, and the trivia make that very clear. The trivia is notable, it's similar to the Iron Tail or Ice Punch trivia about Pokémon being able to use the move when they shouldn't.
It's simply a list of moves that can be learned by almost all Pokémon. If you want the nitty gritty specifics, go to the move article. Don't expect every single bit of information to be on one single page. Actually browse the site for the information you need. That's what a wiki is for (at least, one of). You don't read a guide book expecting everything to be on one page, you actually read the book page by page.--ForceFire 04:15, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
So if fly, waterfall, dive, rock climb, and dig can all be learned by Pokemon that look like they can't carry people, does that mean I can add this trivia to the 5 pages about fly, waterfall, dive, rock climb, and dig?
You still haven't answered my second question about TMs. How are editors like me supposed to know that the list is complete? sumwun (talk) 18:19, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
If you want to? Also, dig doesn't require the person being carried, I would think.
Because it is complete. Whoever added them has probably done their research before adding them. Not sure why you'd think it's incomplete just because there's nothing telling you that it is complete.--ForceFire 04:19, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
Why should I trust someone who hasn't made a single edit since 2017? Yes, I did try posting stuff on his/her/its user talk just to make sure he/she/it was really inactive. Also, this is a wiki. I can attempt to improve the quality of whatever parts I want. It's almost as if you're saying, "Not sure why you'd think there are grammar errors just because there's nothing telling you that there are no errors." sumwun (talk) 19:44, 9 March 2019 (UTC)

Natural freezing vs Freeze (status condition)

FinnishPokéfan said they are both same thing. Check the history of EP237. Eastern Goldfinch (talk) 07:48, 28 February 2019 (UTC)

I interpreted that as "it's no different from having a Pokemon getting frozen due to a move". I'm saying that the status condition is caused by a move, while Piloswine did not freeze because of a move, it froze because of nature (IIRC). Also, you should avoid making trivia for very specific things. It's not interesting and makes it looks like your trying to shove in a lot of things just to make it notable.--ForceFire 10:12, 28 February 2019 (UTC)

List of Pokémon that appear in multiple regional Pokédex

You have this old, apparently-abandoned candidate-for-mainspacing page in your userspace:

It looks like you stopped at Generation IV, even though you were considering Kalos Pokédex in your entries. Your last edit dates back to November 2015, more than three years ago. What happened? Did you get tired of building up that page, even though it was tagged as a candidate for mainspacing?

Well, never mind that. I don’t know if you would consider this an intrusion, but I started to edit that page so as to take Alola Dex into consideration (because the {{alldexh}} and {{alldex}} templates were updated to include Adex and the table rows were looking kinda messed up relative to the table headers. Currently, only Generation I has been updated; I still need to update the other Generations and also add Gens. V to VI plus refresh the Hoenn numbers for all Gens. because of ORAS.

The wikicode itself is a total mess, a mixture of raw wikicode and {{alldex}} transclusions. Why didn’t you make a template for all those rows that could not be served by {{alldex}}? And even I think {{alldex}} was somewhat badly engineered: why does it have to default unspecified dex entries to "001", when the most logical choice could have been "---"? Well, yes, I know the reason: that less-than/greater-than conditional used for the Sdex column crashes whenever you feed "---" to it, hence why {{alldex}} cannot even be manually fed with "---" values (as I tried when entering "s=---").

Maybe I should make a new, sandboxed version of {{alldex}} to take "---" values into account, or a newly-named template that could be called {{multidex}} that would automatically fill unspecified dex values with "---" (and make those "<"/">" comparisons execute only if their input arguments are specified). With such a new template, your neglected “apparent pet project” could be greatly optimized and quickly updated to the current USUM-savvy situation, and perhaps inch closer to mainspacing (that’s why you tagged it for mainspacing in the first place, right?). Given that you apparently do not have spare time to work on this (but I do have plenty of spare time), would you find it acceptable for me to update that page of yours? (But first, I must test that prototype row template in my sandbox.)

Thankee! ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM💬 03:01, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

I just created my sandboxed alldex template version:

 • {{User:SilSinn9801/alldex}}

Unspecified dex numbers fall back to #--- (rather than #001), and I added extra #ifexpr checks to ensure those less-than/greater-than conditionals do not crash when encountering #--- (the #--- is temporarily replaced with a sentinel value like -1 or 0 for such comparisons) and to ensure B2W2 and USUM do not show up for unspecified fallback values.

This sandbox template could now be used on your prototype multiple-dex page above (instead of all that ugly, extremely-tedious raw wikicode), if you give me the green light. Or, if you think this sandboxed version (which I do not think I need to change anymore — it looks stable enough to me) could be approved to replace the current {{alldex}} template, then feel free to nominate it for templatespacing.

Thankee! ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM💬 04:06, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

The reason I abandoned that article was because X and Y was too much. Unlike BW or DPPt before it, XY literally added almost every Pokémon in its regional dex, meaning I had to add much, much more than what I had originally thought I would be adding (I believe I started the article around B2W2?). And here comes Sun and Moon to rear its ugly butt in and do the exact same thing as X and Y. And to be fair, they had to compensate the generation's lack of new Pokémon by adding a crap ton of older Pokémon. But still. It was just overwhelming. So I abandoned it.
If you want to improve the page and make it more complete, be my guest. I could do it, I could've done it a long time ago. Time I had. Motivation I had not.
As for the coding. When I started the article, I copied and pasted the template from the "Pokemon in every regional dex" article, hence Gen IV uses the alldex template. And since I never updated it, the amount of parameters that I inputted did not amount to the number of paramaters the template has now, hence why it looks messy. When editing the template, I swapped out the alldex template for the raw wikicode. I don't exactly remember why. Looking at the coding, seems that Gen IV was the only generation I had left to swap the alldex template out before giving up on the article.
Adding "---" to the Sinnoh parameter in the Gen IV section will break the template, because the second parameter is set to Gen IV. You wouldn't add "---" in the column that should have a number. As for why it's default to 001, default is always 001 for list templates. Even if we were to update it, we don't need an entirely new template. All we have to do is change 001 to --- in the current template.
Aside from all that. If you want to update the page, go for it.--ForceFire 14:00, 2 March 2019 (UTC)
OK, thankee for your green light. However, I cannot use the current {{alldex}} template by doing param="---" in the transclusions - it breaks the mathematical comparisons (like {{{s}}} < 151, for example) when parsed, getting me red-colored error messages. Hence why I made the sandboxed version and re-engineered it (you can check its code and see how I improved it). But well, since you think there is no need to replace the current template, can I at least rename my sandboxed version of it to {{User:SilSinn9801/multidex}} before using it on your page? Just to avoid any confusion. ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM💬 16:59, 2 March 2019 (UTC)
I did not say that I prefer having 001 as the default, I was simply explaining why 001 is the default. As I said, we wouldn't need a completely new template, just update the one we currently have. Heck, the current template could do without the formula for sinnoh and make it like the others, simple. You can move your template to a new name yourself, if you want to.--ForceFire 06:04, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
OK, if you say it's safe to update the official template, then I could go ahead and do that (fortunately it is only being transcluded into two pages or so, so I do not expect server stress). Actually, my sandbox template was meant to be a proposed update to the official one, so if I update the official one based on my experience with my sandboxed one, then I may not have any further need for my separate version to exist and thus I could instead opt to request you use Perish Song on it. Just give me time for that, I got to sleep now because of my geographical location. ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM💬 07:06, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
I am going to update the official alldex, but I discovered some inconsistency regarding Udex: Unlike Jdex, Hdex, and Adex (where new dex values are printed first and old values –if any– are printed as tooltips along with Gen.II/III/SM), for Ndex > 493 Udex prints the old dex value first and the U2dex value as a tooltip (with B2W2). Shouldn't it be the other way around: print u2dex first and then old udex as tooltip (with BW, unless both values are the same, as is the case of Patrat family), in pretty much the same fashion as Adex? That way we can get rid of another #ifexpr numeric comparison: {{{2|001}}} < 494 (which right now is the one thing that decides whether to print U2dexB2W2 for non-Gen.V Pokémon or instead old Udex for Gen.V Pokémon). ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM💬 18:30, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
Why did you protect the official {{alldex}} template before reading this new suggestion above regarding the order in which u and u2dex values are to be printed? I noticed you did adopt my suggested --- fallback values, but there were a few other #if and #ifexpr instructions I wanted to add to that template to prevent the printing of tooltips and sups when deemed not necessary (like, for example, when both adex and sm are the same value, a tooltip should not show, or whenever u2dex and adex fall back to ---, no superscripts should be printed). ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM💬 05:32, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
First of all, I did not say you could edit the template. I said you could update thee userpage. Standard users aren't supposed to be editing high traffic templates (regardless of how many pages are actually using it), thus I protected it. As for the template itself, I personally don't think it needs to be that complicated. I think we could do without the if clauses and have users type out the superscripts and/or tooltips when using the templates. Tedious for users, sure, but if it makes the coding less complicated so be it.--ForceFire 08:31, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
Well, then go ahead and make the necessary changes (whether to remove the ifs and make me manually type the sups and tooltips at the input, or copy code from my sandboxed template and paste it into the official template, or delete that template then quickly move my sandboxed copy to it to effectively replace it - I am fine with any outcome) before I continue (and, hopefully, finish) that masterpiece of yours (your user subpage). Thankee! ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM💬 13:34, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

Just to let you know, I completed that masterpiece of yours, your list of Pokémon that appear in more than one regional Pokédex. All it needs now is for an admin like you to re-update the {{alldex}} template to suppress the B2W2 and USUM superscripts whenever the u2dex and adex parameters, respectively, are left undefined in the transclusions. And reverse the order in which both u and u2dex are printed relative to each other (to bring the Udex column on par with Jdex, Hdex, and Adex – that is, new dex value first, old dex value in tooltip). And allow the user to specify/print under the Adex column the sm parameter alone without requiring the adex parameter (useful for SM Pokémon whose Adex numbers were unchanged in USUM – just as is done under Udex when only u is defined without defining u2dex). All those requested changes are done in my proposed {{User:SilSinn9801/alldex}} template; you can copy the required code from my template and paste it into {{alldex}}, then every instance of {{User:SilSinn9801/alldex}} in your draft article can be replaced with the updated standard {{alldex}}, and then I can request Perish Song on my template. That is all, and THANKEE! ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM💬 02:38, 5 March 2019 (UTC)

(resetting indent)I've updated the template, but haven't deleted your template just yet. Once everything that uses your template is updated, then I'll delete it. I'll completely update my userpage at some point.--ForceFire 02:19, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

I just removed the last lingering transclusions of my user template from your draft article and replaced them with the updated alldex template. Now your page looks like a masterpiece – I can now say I can feel proud of turning a long-abandoned project into something of superb quality. Now I can finally grant you permission to use Perish Song on that sandbox template of mine. ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM💬 03:49, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Candidates for merging.

Dear ForceFire,

I am aware of the policy regarding merging, that there needs to be a discussion and a general consensus for it to occur. However, most of the pages that I and others have marked for merging or deletion in some cases have not been acted upon for months, or years in some cases like the Winds of Water page, and also no discussion has occurred.

Here is a list of pages that should be merged together:

I am bringing this up as the Mountain Lighthouse was not considered worthwhile having its own page simply because little happened there, and stands as a more suitable subsection of the Misty Village page. Hope to hear back shortly,PardescanSlowbro (talk) 05:48, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

There is no deadline to when pages will be merged. Most of those a for minor things, so they aren't high on the priority list.--ForceFire 14:00, 2 March 2019 (UTC)
I'm more than fine to combine the pages myself by cutting the information from the article and putting it into the other, I simply need your say so to do exactly that. And afterwards I'll just need you to delete the residual pages.PardescanSlowbro (talk) 00:24, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
Merging isn't simply just copying and pasting. You have to preserve the history of the other article, which only staff can do. Like I said, it's not high on the priority list.--ForceFire 04:24, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
How long does the history preservation process take? Does the priority list have a page? Or is there someway this issue could become high priority?PardescanSlowbro (talk) 04:38, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
Moving Article A over Article B (after copying and pasting content from Article B to Article A), which involves deleting Article B (which only staff can do). And then undeleting the revisions of Article B on the new article (which only staff can do). There is no physical priority list that I am aware of. Even if there was, it's obviously not going to be out in the public. Since these are minor articles, they are unlikely to become high priority any time soon. These article have been laying around for years mainly because new things (like games or anime) show up and they take higher priority, putting these article lower and lower.--ForceFire 06:04, 3 March 2019 (UTC)

Has this been left out of the mechas article for some good reason? Eastern Goldfinch (talk) 13:22, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

It's not canon, has absolutely nothing to do with the anime, even if it uses characters from the anime.--ForceFire 14:00, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

The MHA reference

You and Chosen both say that that's just a generic angry anime face that James makes in SM111. However, as I've already said before, I strongly disagree. Take a look at these pictures: [2][3][4] Can you honestly say you've seen eyes like that in some other anime? I highly doubt it. This is definitely not a coincidence. The Sun & Moon series loves making references to other anime, that fact has been established many times before. Why would this one be more farfetched than the rest? So, can we readd that picture and trivia on the episode article? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 17:13, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

I'm certainly not going to find every instance of an angry anime face, so here's the TVtropes page. In short, it's a very common trope in the anime and not exclusive to MA.--ForceFire 02:19, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
The thing is, usually angry anime are just round and white. These angry eyes are distinctively different. They're far from generic, a fact that you seem to fail to understand. Even the Bulbagarden Forums has acknowledged that this is a MHA reference. Please, can you give a permission to re-add that piece of trivia? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 08:20, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
So? Do I get the permission or not? I think this evidence should be enough to convince you. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 08:53, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
There are other anime that uses eyes shaped like the one in MHA. Again, I'm not going out of my way to find them because there are just too many of them to look through, but I wouldn't be surprised if a popular anime (idk, like DragonBall) didn't have an angry face stylised like the one in MHA.--ForceFire 04:42, 10 March 2019 (UTC)
Would it help if you heard some person who's seen more anime than you have to say their opinion on the matter? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 09:02, 10 March 2019 (UTC)
This is not a case of me apparently having watched more anime than you have, this is me being absolutely certain that he has seen an angry face stylized like that in more than a few anime. Again, I'm not going out of my way to find it because there are A) too many of them B) too many episodes to look through just to find one face.--ForceFire 09:09, 10 March 2019 (UTC)
And since you keep asking, I have googled and found plenty of comical angry faces that uses those stylized eyes as MHA. Full Metal Alchemist, Ouran High School, Another Full Metal Alchemist.--ForceFire 10:04, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

Planning to take a Wikibreak here…

I want to tell you that I am thinking of taking some kind of Wikibreak from Bulbapedia to focus on my upcoming original music single release (yes, I do chiptune music as you can read from my userpage), due April 1, 2019 (I have to prepare the promo videos and other stuff and won’t have time to dedicate to Bulbapedia). So, as a precautionary measure (in case someone hacks into my account and uses it to vandalize this wiki), may I ask you to temporarily freeze or block my account from performing any edits until May 11, 2019 (the second anniversary of me joining YouTube)? Is there a template that I can put on top of my userpage to alert readers that I am taking a Wikibreak until May 11, 2019? Thankee! ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM💬 03:56, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

You can place Template:Inactive User on either your userpage or talk page (or both). I don't think blocking is necessary.--ForceFire 08:03, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

African Vulture/Annice Moriarty

I've had a message on my talk page from African Vulture about Annice Moriarty which reads as follows: I am currently working on fixing a mistake that has been made in regards to the Ugandan-American voice actress Annice Moriarty, a woman that some in the anime communities have mistaken for a similar sounding voice actress named Kether Donohue I'm wondering if you can help me migrate the page over to Annice Moriarty as they are not the same person at all. I've looked all over the internet, and I am unable to find any sources at all, even if she was not my sister. Can I ask for help in correcting this mistake? We actually did a parody of this on a youtube channel we created called Kether Ketchup, which was meant to make fun of the internet's mistake about Annie. I would deeply appreciate help in fixing this error, and would like to know what sources people claim to have so we can address them. thanks.

I'm not sure what to say about this and would like your advice--BigDocFan (talk) 10:21, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
I've already sent them a message.--ForceFire 10:27, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Not sure how I am supposed to prove who I am given that I don't go around sending people my personal information after an event a few years ago where I had personal info stolen when I last visited this country I am currently in, but if I can prove in a way that does not mean me sending personal info to you guys I can do it. Annice Moriarty is a real name, not a pseudonym. A pseudonym is a fake name that somebody uses as an alternative to their real name. Annie Moriarty could be considered a pseudonym to Annice. Annice is an African name as is my name, Ritaya. thanks. African Vulture (talk) 14:28, 6 March 2019 (UTC) Of course you need to recignize that neither Annice Moriarty or myself are American-born, I do not live in America. So if you are looking through American birth records for Annice Moriarty you won't find her as she was not born in America. Annice is an African name of likely Swahili or Malagasy origin (as our mo mwas Malagasy and our dad is from Uganda) She never told us where Annie's name is from exactly. African vulture is my pseudonym, Annice Moriarty is Annice Moriarty's real name, we would not allow anybody to use the Annice Moriarty name because if they did we would be contacting them. By we I mean Annie. As for proof for who I am, a little while ago when I came to visit where I am right now, I had an incident where my identity was stolen, because I gave personal info to somebody who wanted me to prove who I am. that's why I'm not willing to send personal information, so if there is a way I can prove to you who I am without sending a Zambian birth cirtificate, personal ID or anything like that, I cannot help you for now. I'm ot even using my own e-mail address. A Canadian friend of mine allowed me to use his e-mail address for the purposes of this account. I chose him because of his knowledge of Pokemon, a series I am falling in love with myself. So if there's anything I can do short of giving you my personal information after the incident a while ago, I can for sure help you. thakns Ritaya. African Vulture (talk) 14:52, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

We don't ask for your personal information and such. Just link to us a page that is related to the actual Moriarty, if there are any, and the staff will try to contact her. Also, I'm not saying Moriarty isn't a real name, I'm saying the Donohue possibly used at as her pseudonym.
I searched through google for Annice Moriarty, I didn't look through any records, I don't have access to that. Also, Donohue was credited as Annice Moriarty in the actual credits of Kappa Mikey and an interview with her also stated that she voiced a character on the show.
And since I couldn't find (read: google) anything about an Annice Moriarty, I will restore Donohue's page to what it was before.--ForceFire 04:42, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

No, it must stay gone until you guys in th eanime community can provide proof that Donohue appropriated this Malagasy name. You guys are drawing parallels based on voice and that both Moriarty and Donohue were in a couple of the same shows. I don't doubt that Donohue has been in a couple of the shows that Annie has been in, but I'm affraid that you are the one who has to source that Moriarty is a pseudonym, since you guys argued the positive for eons. I am merely challenging this with a where did you get this from. IMDB is not reliable at all because it helps to propagate this lie/mis hearing of voices and misunderstanding of the interviews. She may have been in Kappa Mikey but she's not Annie. African Vulture (talk) 06:39, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

do not revert, she was in the show but until a source exists that shows Donohue's appropriation of the Annice Moriarty name, you must not re asd it. You may be highly respected on bulbapedia, including by me, but I do not respect your version due to it being wrong and not to mention unsourced. Show me the interview that she says "I am Annice Moriarty" or "I did this under Annice Moriarty" or else leave it be for now until you can find such a source. Donohue is a caucasian-American who has no right to the Malagasy name Annice Moriarty, if she were to use that name do you know how much the Malagasy and Swahili communities would be upset with her? especially in these times when cultural awareness is so strong? Seriously, Annie is Annie, Kether is Kether. Kether was in that show for sure, absolutely, but she did not use Annice Moriarty because she would otherwise be appropriating an ancient malagasy name. thanks. All these claims on sites like IMDB (which is user-submitted, I have submitted to that site myself for various things), and does not often fact check itself. I am working on removing all Annice Moriarty credits from them, as is Annie herself. I am contacting Kether Donohue right now using my friend's e-mail and am going to make her aware of this post, so she can come and explain to you everything from her point of view. give it time as she's likely a bus woman. thanks. African Vulture (talk) 06:47, 10 March 2019 (UTC) African Vulture (talk) 06:47, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

I am bringing a third party in just to help us figure this out. You need to find more better sources if you want to make this claim that Annie's name was used by Kether Donohue. The third party I found is Kogoro, another well-respected bulbapedia member. I want all of the Annice Moriarty stoff off that Kether Donohue not just because Annice Moriarty is my sister, but because there's nothing out there that officially verifies this. Leaving the real Annie asside, pesudonyms must always be verified before they can be added to places like this, it's in your own pollicies that you guys always push. thanks. African Vulture (talk) 07:04, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

Idea for Pokemon move pages

Seeing as some pages are getting really long because of all the ways lots of Pokemon can learn certain moves, what if the TM/HM/Move tutor tables are combined into one? The tables could have a header on how the move is learned in that particular generation, and they all use check marks to signify compatibility anyways, so I think it's a simple change that can go a long way in presenting data. Lanthanum (talk) 13:40, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Gonna need to see what that would look like. I personally think TMs/HMS and tutor moves are completely different thing to be able to place into one table.--ForceFire 05:44, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
I wanna clarify that theyre really similar in move pages (say Defog), not in Pokemon pages (which should stay separate). You know how if a move is learnable by TM/HM the header displays the number of TM it is in a certain gen? If its learnable through move tutor, the header can read "Move tutor" instead. No move so far is both a TM and move tutor in the same gen, so conflicts between these shouldnt happen. Lanthanum (talk) 05:41, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

Annice Moriarty

Hello You keep re-adding an Annice Moriarty quote to the Kether Donohue page. Please look before you revert. Yo keep adding a thing "(as Annice Moriarty) even though Annice Moriarty is not a pseudonym for anybody let alone any American-born voice actress, because they would be appropriating a Malagasy name. thanks. Evolution templates on branched Pokemon

I noticed on pages for Pokemon like Gallade that are on one branch of a branch evolution, the Evolution section doesn't show the other branch (in this example, Gardevoir). I believe this should be changed, and that Pokemon on one branch should show the other branch in their Evolution template— the other branch is already mentioned in the introduction to the article, and I believe it would be very useful information to include, especially since the introductions don't mention the evolution method for the other branch. --celadonk (talk) 17:06, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

I think it's better if you go to the template talk page, that way people will see it (and they'd probably rather have a discussion there rather than on an admin's talk page).--ForceFire 04:55, 11 March 2019 (UTC)
I considered that, but there are a bunch of evobox templates, and I didn’t exactly know which one to post on. --celadonk (talk) 11:39, 11 March 2019 (UTC)

Alright, I’ll post it there. Thanks! --celadonk (talk) 12:20, 11 March 2019 (UTC)

My reason for replacing Leaf with Green is that you're holding a double standard with her. When Gold was renamed to Ethan, the admins made the decision of the games overrode any sort of supplementary material such as game guides that referred to him as Gold in Gen II. With the ORAS demo, this further confined to just the fully released games. Then with Elio/Selene, you guys used supplementary material since there was no established names in SM and USUM, which is understandable. What I don't get is why a figurine is the reason why "Leaf" is being held over, when the games should be, by Bulbapedia's standards, override any sort of supplementary material, since PE established her name as Green. Also, if you're guys are going to stick with "Leaf" in the context of FRLG, regardless, then shouldn't Ethan be referred to "Gold" in the context of GSC, too? Jessie Kane Gill

I was wondering given Nina's continuing role in Pokemon if it was worth giving Jessie Kane Gill a voice actor page.--BigDocFan (talk) 11:58, 12 March 2019 (UTC)

While she does meet the notability requirement, page feels so empty when she's only had one role (though there are probably other va articles that only lists one notable role), doesn't seem enough. Try get second opinions.--ForceFire 03:54, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

Pokemon World in relation to real world notice idea

Could a notice template like (Template:Upcoming notice) be added to to discourage unnecessary editing and lower revisions that are brought the introduction of Galar, and to still allow for editing of previous regions. There also wasn't a notice up on that page before the full-on protection, which is probably why everybody thought it that it was fine to add Galar. Argentarus (talk) 00:19, 14 March 2019 (UTC)

Pointless edits

Dear ForceFire, I remember writing that absolutely useless link to begin with simply because, guess what would happen, GrammarFreak01 would come along and add such useless links simply to get the latest edit on a page. I have complained about that user's edit stalking multiple times and spoken with the user about such matters, but they continue to repeat this conduct without consequence. GrammarFreak01 undid the link on the Rustboro City to begin with and that was all the user did in the revision, and it is was an unnecessary edit. I do not want that same behavior of unnecessary and pointless edits which the user has been spoken about to be enabled in any way. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 04:57, 18 March 2019 (UTC)

I have to agree with GrammarFreak that the link is unnecessary (albeit for a different reason). Just because an article for Pokémon battle exists, doesn't mean you have to link to it every time the word "battle" appears.--ForceFire 05:32, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
I already acknowledged the link was unnecessary, but so was the change to the page by GrammarFreak01 to begin with. The user has been adding these unnecessary links to pages on multiple occasions like the Mossdeep space Center page, where I had clarified that the name (which included a Pokémon's actual name) was that of several space missions. I have left it alone to save an edit war, plus FinnishPokéfan92 got involved, but it still didn't sit right with me. I don't want to be adding unnecessary links to pages, but every time I edit a page shortly after GrammarFreak01 will find a gap to delete, change the way an apostrophe looks, changing a word to a synonym or add some of these unnecessary links to pages. I am simply wanting this behavior to stop and be called out when it occurs. Please clarify your position on this conduct. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 05:48, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
Please have a look at the latest changes to Scott and Norman's pages. The rewording is not needed, but for some reason GrammarFreak01 feels that such a change is required.PardescanSlowbro (talk) 06:06, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
I find the recent overuse of "reappeared in", "appeared again", etc., in recurring character articles to be highly repetitive and therefore unnecessary, and found the use of "In [episode title]" to be much better in quality. I apply exceptions to recurring characters who only appeared in two or three episodes in total, since there's still some justification for saying "reappeared in" without being overly redundant in terms of style. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 06:11, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
Those were completely fine Pardescan, I agree that the over reliance on "reappeared" can make for a boring read. I don't mind using the word for when there's a large gap in between appearances, though.--ForceFire 06:24, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
On an unrelated note, I have noticed the extensive nature of the history summaries on some of Ash's classmates pages when compared with many of his former traveling companions. The list of Ultra Guardians missions will continue to grow as the series continues, and much of the details will be listed on the Ultra Guardians page. But I feel that for the characters themselves, these appearances should be only detailed on their respective pages if that specific character did something significant to the plot as opposed to simply being a part of the mission. Take for example Kiawe in SM061, which I consider unique enough to be mentioned, versus his role during the other missions. Thoughts? PardescanSlowbro (talk) 06:39, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
Perhaps this is something you should create a brand-new section for. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 06:42, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
Isn't that how it's done? If not, it should be. If a character doesn't do much in an important/story driven episode, then it shouldn't go into great detail about what they did.--ForceFire 07:31, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
After having added info to the Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny pages, I thought that idea would be the case, but not so. I have cleaned up {[an|Kiawe}}'s history section to show how much unrelated stuff there was present, and likely this will have to occur on all of the main SM characters' pages. Feedback on this edit would be much appreciated. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 07:55, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
Joy and Jenny are completely different characters from Kiawe or any of the classmates. Only episodes where they do (major) things outside of their jobs gets noted. You're edit to Kiawe seems excessive. They're important episode and should be noted, but it shouldn't go into great detail if they didn't do much.--ForceFire 08:03, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
I understand where you are coming from, The edit was drastic, but was well considered in terms of significance. Having written the plots for these episodes it is in general a collaborative edit, with no stand out member usually. Maybe the missions should be listed like an achievements section?PardescanSlowbro (talk) 08:17, 29 March 2019 (UTC)

Annice Moriarty

Hello I am going to make some edits based purely on two things:

 • The knowledge that Annice Moriarty is most definitely not Kether Donohue, and
 • The episode credits.

We know that both Donohue and Moriarty voice Lila, that was what Tom Wayland said. In fact it was Lila that was the source of the belief that Donohue and MOriarty were the same person, due to them both being credited and them both voicing the same character, albeit during different stages in her life. I will not add any biographic info on Ann. here's an easy way to gage my edits: If Kether Donohue's name appears in the episode, then we can credit her. If Annice Moriarty's name is there, then we must put Annice Moriarty.

I also want to remind you of something: I got 3 names for you:

 • Allyson Johnson (Agatha)
 • Kathleen Delaney (Rouge the Bat)

Remember that? That's the other reason why you have to be careful with pseudonyms. thanks. So my edits are based on the credits and what Wayland had actually said. thanks African Vulture (talk) 21:04, 31 March 2019 (UTC)

I guess what I am saying is that the episodes from the galactic battles DVDs credit Annice Moriarty in some episodes, notably the ones with Candice in them, not Kether Donohue. Donohue did for sure voice young Lila but Moriarty voiced adult lila. African Vulture (talk) 21:34, 31 March 2019 (UTC)

Lillie's Mansion

Was wondering if it was worth creating or working on a page for Lillie's mansion?--BigDocFan (talk) 09:44, 7 April 2019 (UTC)

Are you active right now

Hello I have no idea what time it is in Australia, wher I am it's about 10 to 9 in the morning. At the page Dimensions, Grammarfreak reverted my edits with no clear explanation on how it was poor. I don't speak or write in U.S. English as I am not American. My sister lives in America, not me. While English is not my first language, I speak it fine, but write differently than an American does, hence why Gramamrfreak doesn't likely understand me. I am going to go to Dimensions and restore my edit again, but right after I do so I will attempt to edit it, assuming that gramamrfreak does not revert it and give me an edit conflict error. Please respond sono as I don't trust Gramamrfreak's judgement here at all due to him not being clear as to his roll as a grammarfreak. more like deletefreak. Here is the text I will add. It is an edited version of the one that grammarfreak says is poorly written to the point where he just can't edit it and instead deletes it.

here it goes:

How is that version? African Vulture (talk) 06:07, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

Riley Joseph/Bobbi Hartley

Been trying to find out more information about Riley Joseph and Bobbi Hartley with little success, guess I am unable to mainspace User:BigDocFan/Bobbi Hartley and User:BigDocFan/Riley Joseph--BigDocFan (talk) 21:34, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

While it would be nice if the bios were expanded a bit, it's not something that is part of the notability requirements (technically it's fine as it is, but I personally just like to see articles whose bios are more than just one line). Both articles are fine to be mainspaced, as they meet the first requirement.--ForceFire 04:03, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

Template protection

I've talked with Tiddlywinks about undoing the protection of {{Team Plasma}}, which I see as unnecessary at this point. It's been a couple of weeks and no further word has come from Tiddly yet regarding the subject. Can you help in any way? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 09:25, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

Done. Was most likely forgotten that it was protected.--ForceFire 09:49, 11 April 2019 (UTC)
Thank you. I figured as much. I've encountered a similar forgotten protection before. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:02, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

Disputed moves

There are a few questions regarding disputed moves from the Sun & Moon series that I'd like to see getting answered. Can you help? I'll list some of them below.

 • Kiawe's Marowak used Bonemerang in its debut episode, and I think the "Headbutt" the subtitles referred to was just a generic headbutt instead of Headbutt the move, especially since it has never been commanded to use the move.
 • Lusamine's Salazzle definitely used a move while in Ultra Space. My personal guess is it's Sludge Wave. For some reason, the subtitles didn't identify this move at all.
 • The Blacephalon from the Blacephalon and Xurkitree episode definitely used Mind Blown multiple times throughout the episode. That head blow-up trick isn't just some natural ability it has. Do you agree or disagree?
 • Mallow's Tsareena definitely used Sweet Scent in the episode where it evolved. For some reason, Playerking95 or the subtitles don't seem to recognize this, despite the move being identical to Bounsweet and Steenee's Sweet Scent. What do you think?

I may have forgotten some disputed moves, but these are what initially come to mind at least. Waiting for your reply, FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 18:45, 12 April 2019 (UTC).

I would like to weigh in and say Tsareena used Sweet Scent. We've seen enough proof from its pre-evolved forms to know what it was doing.--Rahl (talk) 19:12, 12 April 2019 (UTC)
You know the answer to the first three, if the move wasn't called out or the captions doesn't say what the move is, then we won't add it. Yes, it use something, but we don't know what it is, and we are not going to guess and potentially be very, very wrong. On Blacephelon, from it's Ultra Sun dex entry: "Then, without warning, it triggers the explosion of its own head.", so yes, it is a natural ability it has.
For Tsareena, I've added it to my unique move animation page with the condition that its secondary effect takes affect and that it gets commanded/stated.--ForceFire 10:10, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
So seeing its effect on Rowlet being exactly the same as before isn't enough to confirm it?--Rahl (talk) 15:31, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
What Rahl said. And are we going to ignore the fact that the Bonemerang that's called out is animated identically to the bone throw Marowak did in its debut episode? Or that Blacephalon's Pokédex entry could be referring to Mind Blown? Also, saying that Salazzle doesn't have any known moves is an outright lie. We clearly see it using a move, even if it wasn't called out. Could it at least be discussed about and be "confirmed" that way? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:34, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
I'm still unsure of if there are other moves that have the same affect and would have the same animation, hence the "has to be commanded" requirement. I don't recall whether it was called out in Marowak's debut, but if it wasn't, then there's nothing we can do. It could be either, but the way the dex entry is worded, implies that it's natural. For Salazzle, as I said, we're not going to guess the move and risk being absolutely wrong. No. And it says "none of Salazzle's move are known", as in we don't know what the moves are, not that it didn't use any moves.--ForceFire 07:50, 17 April 2019 (UTC)

Playerking95's attitude

Sorry for starting yet another subject before you've even gotten to respond to the previous one, but me and Grammarfreak01 both recently asked Playerking95 why he doesn't respond to some of his talk page posts, and his response was as follows:

"I'm not responding since certain people aren't worth having a conversation with, when they're being stubborn and keep doing the same thing."

I personally see this kind of attitude/behavior being impolite, and thought I should notify an admin about it. Just in case. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 09:12, 13 April 2019 (UTC)

Do you have anything to say about this? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 09:19, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
For further context, I approached Playerking95 about archiving his talk page. However, he didn't respond for days, hence FinnishPokéFan92's initial message and PK95's response. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 20:34, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
While I don't think asking him to make a userpage or archiving his talk page was necessary, that's something for him to decide, his attitude regarding talk pages is a known issue and he has been told to use talk page regardless of how "stubborn" a user is. I'll send a message his way.--ForceFire 07:50, 17 April 2019 (UTC)
Thank you, but I disagree about the talk page part. In the diff I provided, it was really difficult for me to find a talk page discussion that I could use as a reference for another discussion I was having at the time. All of that would've been avoided if he organized his talk page efficiently. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 22:39, 17 April 2019 (UTC)

The Forest Pokémon Café!!

The title for SM121 is Mao's Valiant Effort! The Forest Pokémon Café!! and the summary suggests that this is the name given to Oranguru's Place. Was wonder if this would help getting the page mainspaced?--BigDocFan (talk) 19:03, 18 April 2019 (UTC)

Could just be a descriptor and not an actual name. Wait for the episode to air to see whether it's a name or not.--ForceFire 05:07, 19 April 2019 (UTC)
The summary found here suggests it is called Yareyuutan's restaurant, would this help its case?--BigDocFan (talk) 15:26, 4 May 2019 (UTC)

Hello. I have just been editing EP211 and noticed that Orville has his own page, despite having only appeared in one episode to date, and there is no mention that it appeared in the manga or in games. I agree that the the Pokémon character was significant to the plot, however, other significant Pokémon characters that have only appeared in one episode do not have their own pages. I wish for this page to deleted, and relevant information transferred to Wilbur's own page, Thoughts? PardescanSlowbro (talk) 03:44, 19 April 2019 (UTC)

It was deemed notable by the former head of anime. While I personally don't think it's notable (as I've stated on its talk page), it is effectively a character of the day.--ForceFire 05:07, 19 April 2019 (UTC)
I'm guessing a general consensus would need to be reached for any changes to occur? Would you discuss it with the other admins to have this change pushed through? PardescanSlowbro (talk) 05:30, 19 April 2019 (UTC)
May I ask what you mean when you say "former head of anime"? GrammarFreak01 (talk) 06:04, 19 April 2019 (UTC)
@Pardescan: I've brought it up with the others.
@GrammarFreak: An Editorial Board member in charge of a specific part of the franchise. In this case, Kenji Girl was the former head of anime.--ForceFire 06:43, 19 April 2019 (UTC)

On User:YuYuYuuki

Do you think it's possible I could put her in my userspace? Something like User:Dancingbug11/YuYuYuuki. Because I enjoy listing tags (which is the reason I did that page), I was just having fun, and it's sad some of my work got deleted off the wiki. Perish song

All other moves in the "moves that cause the user to faint" category make the user faint whenever they're successful. Perish song does it only if the move is successful AND the user stays in battle for 3 turns. If the category should include moves that can make the user faint under certain conditions, should it include recoil attacks or curse? sumwun (talk) 00:50, 21 April 2019 (UTC)

in sections i agree, but in item tables repeated links should be fine. also its been a while but i believe tiddlywinks was also of the same opinion as me. --EternalDragonX (talk) 08:07, 21 April 2019 (UTC)

I don't mind repeated links in tables as well, just not for every row the name appears, especially for long lists as it'd be overkill and tiring from an editing standpoint.--ForceFire 08:53, 21 April 2019 (UTC)

I try

I already tried everything, but it keeps marking me an error, it does not let me auto-confirm myself to upload and no tutorial helps me what do I do then? - unsigned comment from Grizzlyring123 (talkcontribs)

To be autoconfirmed, you have to make some edits and be a user for some time. So you have to make some edits to the archives to become autoconfirmed. If you're not sure what to edit, you can fix summaries or add missing categories.--ForceFire 06:04, 26 April 2019 (UTC)
I got into the files, I already confirmed myself in my main profile, but the system does not allow me to confirm myself, besides I already have many editions of files, if the system itself does not let me then do what I do.
They do not let me put categories to images, this is ridiculous. - unsigned comment from Grizzlyring123 (talkcontribs)
You need to be autoconfirmed on the archives, as in, not Bulbapedia. The archives and Bulbapedia's autoconfirmation are not linked. Also, read Autoconfirmed users, autoconfirmed isn't something like "email verification", it's a system criteria, you can't autoconfirmed yourself.--ForceFire 04:36, 27 April 2019 (UTC)

Horacio's Vikavolt

Who's That Pokémon Narration

I really couldn't hear exactly? If you have seen the episode, if Ash, Lillie, and Sophocles (in shrunken voices) and Mallow, Lana, and Kiawe (in normal voices) have narration the WTP episode segment? I mean it was hard to hear. From, Sean 00:23, 30 April 2019 (UTC)- unsigned comment from PokéSean (talkcontribs)

Deletion request

Earlier today, I split the "Sun and Moon Shards" page into two separate articles, following the example of the Fossil pages. Should the original combination page be deleted now? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 11:12, 30 April 2019 (UTC)

It's fine to be deleted now that it's split, just as long everything on it it already in their respective articles.--ForceFire 13:08, 30 April 2019 (UTC)

WTP Narrations

So let me get this straight. We don't list who narrates the Who's That Pokémon? English dub versions if it's only Ash and his friends. Abcboy, did Hapu narrate the WTP English dub segment of SM104? FinnishPokéFan92, because no one but Ash and Lillie appeared in SM096, they were the only ones who could narrate the segment. Force Fire because Ash read SM083's English dub title in his shrunken voice, he, Sophocles, and Lillie narrated the segment in their shrunken voices while Mallow, Lana, and Kiawe read it in their normal voices. From, Sean 00:54, 1 May 2019 (UTC)

Not sure what you're trying to say. I don't think any of the episode says who narrates the "Who's that Pokemon" segment in the dub, just who narrates the episode previews for the Japanese episode. I also don't think it needs mentioning on who narrates the WTP segment, it's not that important compared to the episode previews.--ForceFire 04:15, 1 May 2019 (UTC)

Mega Stone

Green's article shows her Blastoise having a held item, which don't exist in Let's Go. Could you remove it?
Also, speaking of Let's Go, is anyone going to make a Pokémon template for that? How's the Mega Stone going to be shown on them, if they're not held items? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 18:28, 1 May 2019 (UTC)

In Let's Go, the player just needs to have the Mega Stone in the bag to Mega Evolve the Pokémon. Thank you in advance. --TheICTLiker4 07:27, 11 May 2019 (UTC)

Template edit request(s)

I just created articles for the three original fishing rods. I was wondering if the encounter templates for Pokémon found by fishing could include links to the specific rods too? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 18:21, 2 May 2019 (UTC)

I have created a new page revolving around all Pokémon available by fishing. Right now, it's only about Pokémon in Generation I that can be fished by the Old and Good Rods: click here to be redirected to this page. --TheICTLiker4 17:10, 19 May 2019 (UTC)
Now I have a more minor edit request: with "PC", {{shopitem}} creates a link to "PokéCoupon", instead of "Poké Coupon" like it's supposed to. Could you fix this? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 05:54, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
Done.--ForceFire 06:31, 22 May 2019 (UTC)

Team Magma Hideout split

Hey, there was a discussion spliting the page about Team Magma Hideout, and in general everyone agreed that the two locations are too different to be in the same page. With that in mind, I created two pages in my userspace: Team Magma Hideout (Lilycove City) and Magma Hideout (Jagged Pass), that are basically how the current page would be after the split. I was wondering if you could take a look at the subject. Thanks. Suic (talk) 03:02, 11 May 2019 (UTC)

Team Magma Hideout info can remain on the page, since the location is referred to as such (adding the Lilycove parenthesis isn't needed). Jagged Pass hideout can be moved.--ForceFire 06:20, 11 May 2019 (UTC)

M22 credits

I'm not saying they're gonna be replaced, but I really would like to know, if (when) the movie is getting a dub with that cast. They have not announced the cast yet, and probably will not in the near future. Smartorama (talk) 09:32, 11 May 2019 (UTC)

Just because the dub cast hasn't been announced yet doesn't mean there won't be a dub at all. The anime is too popular to simply leave one of its movies undubbed, unless it contains something extremely insensitive, which we don't know. It's common sense at this point to assume there's a dub coming up. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 03:07, 13 May 2019 (UTC)

Guessing it wasn't given any specific name, just "Mori no Pokemon cafe"? Other than that, it's looks good (though wait for abcboy to give his approval first).--ForceFire 15:29, 12 May 2019 (UTC)
Will do, I'm going to check the subtitles to see if the Narrator gave it a name--BigDocFan (talk) 15:32, 12 May 2019 (UTC)
Watching the subs, the Narrator refers to it is Orangutan's Café--BigDocFan (talk) 19:21, 12 May 2019 (UTC)
Mixed the name up, I meant Oranguru's Café--BigDocFan (talk) 19:23, 12 May 2019 (UTC)

Hello, ForceFire. How are you? I need a little help. I have been blocked from the Archieves for quite a long time. I wanted to talk about something there, but no luck. And I didn’t mean to have a problem there and I want to help there again. So, if there’s anyway I can get unblocked? I want to make an adjustment on my profile page.--CoolPokéGuy (Talk) 02:44, 20 May 2019 (UTC)

According to the log, you've been blocked for repeated image theft, which is grounds for an indefinite block (especially if you have ignored warnings). Begging to be unblocked won't get you unblocked, and going by the severity of your block, you are not getting unblocked. Thank you.--ForceFire 04:51, 20 May 2019 (UTC)

I didn’t mean to steal any images. I only add what I search. And I wasn’t impatient and begging. I thought the indefinite block has been gone long enough, that’s all. And besides, I just want to help again without situations. Nothing personal. Can’t I just a get a time limit about my block, please?--CoolPokéGuy (Talk) 08:59, 20 May 2019 (UTC)

Is Bulbapedia's Gen 5 betamon info mostly rumors?

Hey Force Fire, how are ya. I made this Bulbapedia account just to send you this message.

I've got a YouTube channel that primarily focuses on beta Pokemon content (link:, with an emphasis on having a source for everything. I'm working on Gen 5 now, and I was looking at Bulbapedia's unused Pokemon page. It seems that information regarding the beta of the Hydreigon family, Sawk, Throh, Tornadus, Thundurus, and Stunfisk is all credited to a Nintendo Dream interview with Ken Sugimori. But I've spent about 12 hours over the past couple days searching for that interview, or even a volume number that interview is meant to be contained in. I even googled around in Japanese. Couldn't find a thing. I asked my 22,000 subscribers for help, including some who are Japanese. No one could find anything. It seems Bulbapedia and many other sites have just been citing "a Nintendo Dream interview," and no one has been linking or citing a specific volume.

I'm thinking maybe it's meant to be volume 205, the May 2011 issue. But in that interview Sugimori only says that Hydreigon is based on the Yamata no Ochiri. I'm thinking all these quotes attributed to that Sugimori interview -- about dragon tanks, horned eyebrowless Oni, red Tornadus, and anglerfish Stunfisk -- probably don't exist, and that all Bulbapedia's Gen 5 betamon info is bunk -- all except Sawsbuck and Excadrill. I'd really like to be wrong though.

I tried combing through the page's history tab, but couldn't find where this information was added. Please let me know, I'd really appreciate it.

Btw, I also left this message on the page's talk page. My apologies if I shouldn't have done that, or if I've formatted this post incorrectly. I'm new to all this back-end wiki stuff. I tried sending you a DM in the forum but it said I needed more posts in order to send a DM. So I came here since you appear to be the most active admin.

Cheers Force Fire.

Professor Burnet

Hello, I see you undid my edit. I'm relatively new here (account since 2013) but do have familiarity with the general philosophical underpinnings of a wiki (I work with them all day!) and could use your help in understanding the polices and norms here. I don't dispute your claim that the English voice actor is correct. However I've been told that Bulbapedia requires reliable sources (see my talk page). I don't see any source for the claim. So I removed it thinking I was helping. Could you please help clarify how you know this is correct so I don't run afoul of future confusion? Thanks for your time. Thanks for responding. Ok, that's cool thet we have a reliable source (the voice director) that can confirm claims like who voiced what character. Glad to hear someone (you) were able to verify the claim. I'm curious, as someone who is new around here, how am I suppose to know who has what information? How is it verifiable from someone like me, who doesn't know other users or what access they have? Heck, how do I know you're telling the truth! (I'm joking) Is there a place to learn this somewhere? It's really confusing as a newcomer and if I'm going to spend my free time helping here I want to make sure its not wrought with frustration. Thanks again for your time. Ckoerner (talk) 22:04, 3 June 2019 (UTC)
BigDocFan usually says in his edit summary that his source is the voice director (he can't actually show the e-mail publicly, he sends the screenshot to me privately). You can tell if an addition is legitimate if the user cites a source in their edit summary. Usually it'll be a direct source from the voice actor's twitter/social media confirming their role. Though that doesn't mean any edit without an edit summary is a false edit, always ask the user that added the information where they got it from.--ForceFire 07:45, 4 June 2019 (UTC)
I have to apologize on that occasion, as I was adding so many that day, I didn't always put admin approved email in the edit summary.--BigDocFan (talk) 08:09, 4 June 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for the explanation – both of you. I think it's a little confusing still. This method of verifiability seems incredibly insular and wrought will potholes like the one I've called into. :) I'll continue to do my best to edit in good faith and assume the same from others. I appreciate your time and efforts. Ckoerner (talk) 15:08, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

Matori's Meowth

Was wondering if User:BigDocFan/Matori's Meowth was notable enough for mainspacing?--BigDocFan (talk) 09:06, 4 June 2019 (UTC)

Seems notable when it was a recurring wild Pokémon, but isn't notable now that it has an owner... I think it's okay to move, not sure if there'd be any objections.--ForceFire 15:51, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

Articles for the mainspace

Hi ForceFire,

I have been working on several articles intended for the mainspace:

Could you please move them into the mainspace if deemed ready? PardescanSlowbro (talk) 11:09, 7 June 2019 (UTC)

The Chinchou and Wela Festival article seem bare. Not sure if you could expand it, but it doesn't really look nice being a few pictures and a wall of text (essentially). I'll let the other staff member give their judgement.
Alola TV station, Ho-oh shrine, Marie's father, and the Light trio look good to go. I think they're fine to be mainspaced.
Pershie hasn't really done anything major or had an impact on the plot. I don't think it's notable.
The other articles aren't within my forte, so you'll have to ask the others about those.--ForceFire 06:23, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
Thank you for the reply, could you mainspace the go-ahead pages to avoid having to delete an unneeded redirect?
As for the festival pages, they are in line with the other festival pages that are already mainspaced, do you think a gallery might make any difference?
I'll message someone in the merchandise space about those other pages. PardescanSlowbro (talk) 10:07, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
I've moved the pages I've approved. As for the festival articles, I did a quick check at the existing festival articles and there are some that are even smaller than your articles, so I guess with that precedence they're good to be mainspaced. If you want to add a gallery once I've moved them, you could, but you don't have to. I'll also be moving your Coumarine City festival article as well.--ForceFire 12:00, 12 June 2019 (UTC)
Thank you, the effort is much appreciated. Also I was looking for a way to add the Ho-Oh Shrine & Alola TV Station to their respective region's anime-exclusive locations templates, where would the template be so I can add those changes? PardescanSlowbro (talk) 13:03, 12 June 2019 (UTC)
{{Animelocations}} has links to the region specific templates.--ForceFire 13:28, 12 June 2019 (UTC)

Totem Pokémon

Having created a page for Ultra Beasts appearances in the anime, I was wondering if it was a good idea to do one for the Totem Pokémon, I'd include the ally Pokémon on the same page--BigDocFan (talk) 10:13, 9 June 2019 (UTC)

Whereas the Ultra Beasts are fairly important to the series, I don't think the totem Pokemon are that important nor are they notable, even as a collective. All they've done is battle, if I'm not mistaken. I don't think they're notable.--ForceFire 06:23, 11 June 2019 (UTC)

Unnotable SM103 content.

What made my edits on SM103 not notable? - unsigned comment from PokéSean (talkcontribs)

Wobbuffet always pops out of its Poké Ball. That "error" can easily be explained as Wobbuffet having popped out of its Poké Ball off-screen. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 04:50, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
First point, so what if they don't land in Bewear's den? it's not notable
Second point, made no sense whatsoever. I could not make out what you were trying to say here. So I removed it.
Third point, again not sure what you were trying to say here. And the "there were other parts" made even more confusing.--ForceFire 06:23, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
Just why did it not show where Team Rocket landed or have Bewear rescue them in "Alola, All!"? It's not an episode now without her rescuing her buddies or even show land in her den. Anyway, the head was only blasting off but on the island where the trios see the twerps and twerpettes, all the other parts of Mecha-Meowth was there.
It doesn't matter is they do or do not land in Bewear's den. It's just not notable.
And what does that have to do with Wobbuffet? It could've been in his Pokeball, which Jessie would obviously have on her.--ForceFire 06:36, 14 June 2019 (UTC)
Okay! So I understand the Wobbuffet issue. He is rarely in his Poké Basll. Case closed on that. But still, this is the Sun & Moon series. They always show the trio getting grabbed by Bewear. Not grabbing them or even seeing them getting grabbed is not right. Also? Where did they get Mecha-Meowth's other parts? They were just blasting off in MM's head. PokéSean 23:10, 16 June 2019 (UTC)
It doesn't matter if they land in Bewear's den or not, it's just not notable. And where they got the other mecha parts can be explained as anime physics or something. Don't think too hard about it and just go with it.--ForceFire 05:44, 17 June 2019 (UTC)
Okay! It does not matter. But still, Bewear did poor judgement by not rescuing her buddies from Mega Gyarados. I know I should not hold a grudge on that but do you agree with me. PokéSean 01:12, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
I have not seen the whole episode but I saw the summary. The crew really should think about the Bewear rescues. I mean, it is not a bad thing. PokéSean 01:49, 23 June 2019 (UTC)

Shiny Shadow Lugia

I see you reversed my edit about shiny shadow lugia. The reason I removed it is because shiny shadow lugia is not possible due to the XD shadow shiny lock. Therefore it's only possible to see this animation if you hack the game. I didn't think we included info about hacked scenarios here? I mean it's possible to see any animation if you hack the game hard enough....JMVB - very sporadic editor since 2008 (talk) 13:53, 21 June 2019 (UTC)

I wonder why not use actual sprites from VI+? And where are the LGPE sprites? PokéSean 01:49, 23 June 2019 (UTC)

I also wonder why the German wiki has animated models and move animations from the 3DS games, and why Bulbapedia doesn't have them? Your question's answer is: If using actual sprites would be the case, then Bulbapedia would cover another server and, even worse, drain its resources! That's because the actual sprites would need to be cropped. --TheICTLiker4 08:56, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
You mean the models? The SMUSUM models are there, just not the LGPE models. They just haven't been uploaded yet and the template hasn't been updated yet. And having animated models would put too much stress on the wiki as they are much, much larger than the animated sprites (especially if we're going to have multiple of them on one page).--ForceFire 09:42, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
I'm sorry, Force Fire, I meant sprites. But I don't know why they aren't on Bulbapedia, but are on the German wiki! --TheICTLiker4 07:34, 28 June 2019 (UTC)
You mean the images in the spritebox? Because we do have the Gen VII (bar LGPE) "sprites" in the template...--ForceFire 08:42, 28 June 2019 (UTC)
I mean animated sprites from the 3DS games, which are on the German wiki. See e.g. Pikachu. The section called Bilder has got animated sprites from Generation VII games. You can also press PKMN/Sprites und 3D-Modelle, with the earliest sprites appearing first on the list. --TheICTLiker4 18:57, 28 June 2019 (UTC)
So you are talking about the 3D models (they're not sprites, i.e. 2D). We do have them bar LGPE. Check the spritebox on the species articles. LGPE isn't there because they haven't been uploaded yet and the template hasn't been updated yet to support LGPE. As for why they're not animated. It's because it would put too much stress on the wiki, especially as they are much, much larger than the 2D sprite animations and since there's going to be multiple of those 3D models in the templates, having them all animated will make the site slower.--ForceFire 03:56, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
Spr 6x 025 m.png
This male Pikachu's front sprite from X and Y looks like it is in 3D, but it is a 2D sprite. Even worse, the German wiki has GIFs, not AniPNGs. But I know, AniPNGs are of smaller size, have better quality and have a much richer color palette. GIFs are for buttons, not for animated pictures on this wiki. --TheICTLiker4 08:07, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
Uh... no... that is (and the other models are) directly from the game. It's a 3D model. It's still going to make the wiki lag if we have them animated, especially with bigger models like Kyogre (and I don't think you understand just how many models we'd be having on the articles).--ForceFire 10:21, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
But the models from X and Y were passed to future games, so a normal Pikachu doesn't need to have 32 models, described in the table:
Male 2 2 2 2
Female 2 2 2 2
Shiny Male 2 2 2 2
Shiny Female 2 2 2 2
Each 2 in the table corresponds to both the front and back sprite. There are 16 2s in the table, and 16 × 2 is 32. The sprites for Let's Go are the same, though they lack their borders. I want to close this topic for now. I have even written to Lombrero about the use of AniPNGs over GIFs. The message looked like this:
Should the GIF files be in PokéWiki?
I think that AniPNG files are better than GIF files. They occupy less space in the server, have better quality and color palette. If you want to make AniPNG files, you need to download AniPNG (see here). GIF files need to be limited to buttons. The English Pokémon encyclopedia, Bulbapedia, has AniPNG files. That existed on Bulbapedia for a long time. Thank you for reading. --TrikephaloFan635 (discussion) 09:57, 29 June 2019 (CEST)
This was the original post (in German):
--TrikephaloFan635 (Diskussion) 09:57, 29. Jun. 2019 (CEST)
--TheICTLiker4 16:44, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
You're not counting forms and gender differences. They add to the count. And Kyogre is the biggest of them all (it's why there is so much whitespace with the smaller models). Imagine having a bunch of those bad boys animating on one page at the same time. Imagine how slow the wiki will run. That is what we don't want.
While I'm open to having a template that is specifically for the 3D models so we don't have to show duplicates, and I believe someone has a template made on their userpage (Celadonk, I believe), for now we don't have them animated for a reason.--ForceFire 05:09, 30 June 2019 (UTC)

Something that I've been wondering for a good time now: should elevators be given their own article? They've been pretty prominent in the Pokémon series since the very beginning, especially in the games. Do you think they'd deserve to have an article of their own? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:03, 26 June 2019 (UTC)

They may be prominent, but they don't really play a large role in the games. They're just elevators.--ForceFire 10:20, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
Lesser things have gotten articles here, if I recall correctly. Plus, there are several items and trivia bits connected to them. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 12:00, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
Such as? --ForceFire 12:14, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
The Elevator Keys, the infamous Lift Key; the fact that elevators are operated manually in Gens 1 to 3, either automatically or by talking to a person in Gen 4 and so on; the elevator glitch from Silph Co. in Gen 1... Or were you asking of the less notable things? Okay, maybe "equally notable things" is more accurate. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 12:32, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
I was asking for less notable things. The only thing that I can think of that would be less notable than elevators are things like "doors", "windows", or "escalators". There's a Chair article, but that is notable for being a decoration for secret bases. The elevator related items doesn't really make having an article about elevator necessary.--ForceFire 12:45, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
Oh, well. I was figuring we could compare the elevator mechanics of different generations, but if it's not notable enough, then okay. I guess I was thinking that if gates or different types of floor tles deserve their own articles, why not elevators? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 13:41, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
There are several floor types of floor tiles, each having their own mechanic, so they are notable. There are several different gates across the seven regions, and some gates have other things outside of just acting as a passageway from one place to another. Elevators don't have anything special to them, they do what you expect them to do.--ForceFire 13:51, 26 June 2019 (UTC)

Masters animated trailer

Here's an idea. Since the trailer for Pokémon Masters came out, how's about we make a page for it like we did with Black 2 and White 2 and Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire? That way we can help promote the game. Seabiscuit2020 (talk) 19:34 27 June 2019 (UTC)

MQ Dread

MQ Dread is used to taking information from PokeBeach. I do fear that he might move the pages for Pokémon cards in the Unified Minds expansion. I should have ask Nuval-kal but he seems seldom acrive nowadays. MQ Dread also tend to do multiple edits to a page in a short span of time (not using the Preview button). He even does not check before redirecting or moving pages. I wonder if anything can be done about it. Sorry for disturbing. Thanks. — Ruixiang95 13:33, 3 July 2019 (UTC)

Ah, he already moved the pages. — Ruixiang95 13:34, 3 July 2019 (UTC)
TCG is not my area of expertise, but if he's taking information from PokeBeach, you should revert him. Otherwise, for specific TCG things he's added, you should refer to a staff member with TCG knowledge.--ForceFire 13:58, 3 July 2019 (UTC)

This user's most recent edits have led me to believe he may be another sockpuppet account of Kittystyler (talkcontribs). Notable pages

I looked at the Notability requirements and both Gladion’s Umbreon and Lycanroc fit. I think people have pages in their user spaces already. Could they be made into pages?--Pikablu (talk) 15:05, 9 July 2019 (UTC)

Would be nice to see Umbreon be mainspaced as I've created a page for it, just have to wait for admin to get back. Did you (Force Fire) see my comment above regarding Faba?--BigDocFan (talk) 16:29, 9 July 2019 (UTC)
Both Umbreon and Lycanoc would be fine to mainspace. Faba can be mainspace (Lusamine should get a mainspace article as well, she's an important character).--ForceFire 07:35, 10 July 2019 (UTC)
Was wondering if the following pages could be mainspaced?

User:BigDocFan/Yasuyuki Kase
User:BigDocFan/Nicole Fujita
User:BigDocFan/James Weaver Clark--BigDocFan (talk) 18:54, 15 July 2019 (UTC)
Not too sure of Fujita, has Curly appeared more than once? The rest are fine to be mainspaced.--ForceFire 06:37, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
Curly has only appeared once so left Fujita's page to be worked on, mainspaced the others, thanks--BigDocFan (talk) 09:10, 16 July 2019 (UTC)

SM129 Electro Ball

I dare say that the attack that Pikala's Pikachu used in SM129 was Electro Ball. We've seen Zap Cannon only a couple episodes earlier, and if you compare the two attacks, you can see some key differences, like the electric sparks around the orb of electricity. And the fact that it's an orb of electricity kinda disqualifies the chance of it being Hidden Power. And, as the most solid evidence of all, it looks identical to the Electro Balls that Ash's Pikachu also used earlier in Sun & Moon, with the same animation style. Do you think this is enough evidence? Please don't be a stickler. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 18:17, 12 July 2019 (UTC)

Just the fact that both Zap Cannon and Electro Ball having similar animations rules out Electro Ball's animation being unique. Your description of the differences really means nothing, "electric sparks" is so vague... both are Electric moves, so that just becomes moot. Just because it looks identical to what Ash's Pikachu used, doesn't make it the same move if it was not stated to be the move. The animators and writers have been inconsistent before, and they still may be inconsistent today. I know it sounds like I don't trust the animators and writers, but we're just not taking that chance to be wrong.--ForceFire 05:06, 13 July 2019 (UTC)
I have enough eye for detail to compare Electro Ball and Zap Cannon side to side and see that they're not identical. We should pay more attention to detail and not just leave a move unidentified because it's "too similar" to another one. Please. Take a look at those two moves side by side. I definitely see some key differences myself. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 07:21, 14 July 2019 (UTC)
We're not going to let user guess moves with their eyes, like we're not going to let users guess voice actors with their ears. It's too risky and there is always a chance of being absolutely wrong. There may be differences, but you can't be certain the next time a move is used (and not called out) that it'll be the same move. The writers could make it another move, because they can. Our rules, while strict, is just pretty simple. Unless it has a unique animation, it has to be called out. Electro Ball neither has a unique animation or was called out.--ForceFire 08:02, 14 July 2019 (UTC)
 • facepalm* The animation is different! You're not just looking at it clearly enough and don't trust people saying otherwise! I hate this level of being a stickler! Please! Stop it! --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 08:27, 14 July 2019 (UTC)
While we're talking about moves, could we circle back to Tsareena using Sweet Scent? I see no reason we can't confirm what its already used in a prior evolution.--Rahl (talk) 12:55, 14 July 2019 (UTC)
I said there may be differences, but we can't be too sure that the animators/writers are going to be consistent. Rules are strict for a reason, and you know the rules, no need to throw a tantrum. As for Tsareena, wait for it to be called out or wait for close captions.--ForceFire 06:37, 16 July 2019 (UTC)

But why do we need to wait for it to be confirmed? It already knows the move and showed it almost identically to how it did as a Steenee. If something like Parental Bond can be confirmed by just looking at it surely we can know when its using a move it already has.--Rahl (talk) 12:28, 16 July 2019 (UTC)

AG176 mistakes

GrammarFreak01 (talkcontribs) has reverted my edits here and [8] about mistakes on AG176. GrammarFreak01 seems to ignore my questions why? Could you tell me what's wrong? PokéSean 01:04, 13 July 2019 (UTC)

Both are totally valid reasons for removal. Butch could've left off screen if there was a large amount of time in between scenes. The second trivia was not well written, it took me a bit to realize what it was saying. I don't really remember much of the episode, so I can't say for certain whether those errors are truly errors.--ForceFire 05:06, 13 July 2019 (UTC)
When the trio picked the Poké Ball at the same time, they were surprised. But Jessie and James knew each other were there. - unsigned comment from PokéSean (talkcontribs)
Firstly, I apologize for not responding sooner. I saw the original message but was too preoccupied with personal matters to answer at the time. Secondly, it is unnecessary to point out Jessie and James's surprise as an error. You'd certainly be surprised if you and another person picked up the same thing at the same time, even if you already know the other person. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 03:27, 15 July 2019 (UTC)
But there was no reason for them to be surprised. They knew they were at the stadium when they saw Cassidy (disguised as a Nurse Joy). Also, how is Jessie seen cleaning up the Poké Balls after being flung by Thundershock? PokéSean 00:53, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
Perhaps I didn't make myself clear the first time: "You'd certainly be surprised if you and another person picked up the same thing at the same time, even if you already know the other person." GrammarFreak01 (talk) 02:16, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
As GramarFreak said, you'd still be surprised to unexpectedly meet someone at an unexpected area, even if you knew they were in the area. As for you second question, anime physics. Don't think too much about it.--ForceFire 05:39, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
But Jessie and James should've expect it. So would Meowth because he missed them. PokéSean 01:13, 20 July 2019 (UTC)

Episode pages of Ash’s rivals meeting each and Rivals meeting team rocket

is it worth mentioning if ash’s rival meet each other or meet team rocket in the major events.

example gladion meets team rocket for the first time and bianca and trip meet each other for the first time.

1. how should it be worded, (rival) encounters team rocket, team rocket meets (rival ), or (rival) meets team rocket

2. should it be worded like (rival) and rival meet each other for the first time or (rival) meets (rival)

--Feelitstill23 (talk) 23:08, 14 July 2019 (UTC)Feelitstill23

It's only notable if the rival is meeting one of the main characters for the first time (so Ash, his friends, and the trio), rival meeting rival isn't notable. The wording is dependent on the context of the episode.--ForceFire 06:37, 16 July 2019 (UTC)

I removed the Signal Beam trivia because "Signal Beam" is not a term exclusive to Pokémon, so something else is bound to have the same name.--ForceFire 06:37, 16 July 2019 (UTC)

In the most recent episode, Acerola's Gengar, which was previously seen as a wild Pokémon in the Ula'ula Island arc, was revealed to know Thief. While having a basic animation, the move was kinda similar to how Gengar stole items in its first appearance. Should we take this as it having also used Thief back then or do we say move to as only shown off now? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:04, 21 July 2019 (UTC)

If it was first commanded in the recent episode, then that was it's debut, especially if it's animation is way too vague/simple (also, the act stealing items doesn't equal the move Thief, like how the act of flying isn't the move Fly).--ForceFire 05:34, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
Figured as much. I thought that maybe Gengar hiding the stolen items in its body would count as a part of the move, but I admit it's a bit vague if that's the case, so I'm fine with only counting the commanded use as the move. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:08, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

Sokuon (っ/ッ) use

You reverted me for using tch instead of cch on the page In-game trade.

Actually, the sokuon (Hiragana: っ; Katakana: ッ), presented as small tsu, doubles a geminate consonant. That means it can double k, s, t and p, and their voiced variants (j can't be doubled). However, while doubling digraphs (sh, ch, ts), only the first letter is doubled, except ch, which, with sokuon, creates tch (rather than cch).

Example: 抹茶を買いたいのですが。 Matcha-o kaitai nodesuga. (This is because I connect particles in romanizations by a dash, so syllables like え and ヘ can be distinguished, as when ヘ is a particle, it's pronounced e).

This sentence translates to “We'd like to buy some matcha”.

Further examples of sentences with a sokuon:

あなたのバッグはいっぱいです。 Anata-no baggu-wa ippai desu. Your bag is full.

イッシュヘ行きます。 Isshu-e ikimasu. We're flying to Unova.

お母さん、ペットが欲しいよ! Okāsan, petto-ga hoshii-yo! Mum, I want a pet!

I hope you'll understand this. --TheICTLiker4 10:57, 23 July 2019 (UTC)

Hello, how come you reverted the edits I made on ULtra Recon squad? I formatted it to be easy to read and folowed some other pages I found like it. is there a reason for it? I wanted to get the magicarp thing removed AlabasterWitch (talk) 20:40, 23 July 2019 (UTC)

Because it was incorrectly formatted. We do not separate sections by bolding a word or place paragraphs as bullet points.--ForceFire 07:02, 24 July 2019 (UTC)

Need your help on a new article

This article, Queenko, was created by Bardock on the basis that the closed captions revealed its name. I want to know if such a source would be considered reliable and if its information counts towards creating an article on a character like that. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 05:11, 25 July 2019 (UTC)

I've brought it up with the other staff members.--ForceFire 06:07, 25 July 2019 (UTC)
Seems the other staff members deem it notable as well, citing that we do make articles for other named Performers and the Clubsplosion contestants that didn't do much having articles as well. As for whether we should make articles based off CCs, other CotD's also have articles where their name was only revealed through CC.--ForceFire 06:59, 25 July 2019 (UTC)

Professor Sycamore (anime)

I know that Professor Sycamore hasn't appeared in years but was wondering if he was worth having an anime page similar to Kukui and Oak as his role was quite substantial in XY--BigDocFan (talk) 21:07, 2 August 2019 (UTC)

I think an anime article for Sycamore is fine. His anime section is quite extensive, so go for it.--ForceFire 11:40, 3 August 2019 (UTC)

Dunsparce Origin Edit

I honestly don't think the sphinx connection was too big of a stretch. If Dunsparce can be a visual pun on bee snake, what's wrong with a visual pun on sphinx caterpillar? Sphinx caterpillars were named for their resemblance to the Egyptian Sphinx and I could definitely see Game Freak exaggerating these sphinx-like features (though toning them down in a more natural way). This seems better connected to the Tsuchinoko than the feathered serpent, at least. It might not be true, but I'm sure there are plenty of other Pokémon origins that Bulbapedia hasn't hit on the head. To me though, it seems far too coincidental not to be and I've already had several others to agree with my theory.

I'm not trying to sound hateful or whiny, but it seems unfair for the theory to be chopped down without evidence proving that it's only a stretch. I do appreciate that you didn't remove my entire edit, though. Icycatelf (talk) 05:19, 4 August 2019 (UTC)

I removed it because Dunsparce doesn't look like the Sphinx. The actual insect being named after the Sphinx is irrelevant to Dunsparce. The spikes on Dunsparce's chin being a beard or the Sphinx's two legs are a real stretch, as they don't remotely look like legs. The "pyramid" is another stretch, as the tip looks nothing like a pyramid. I kept the rest (about the insect) as that was more plausible than the whole Egyptian paragraph.--ForceFire 12:24, 5 August 2019 (UTC)

I feel that the sphinx-like features are somewhat vague since the caterpillar, said to resemble the sphinx, also doesn't look all that much like one. While the chin prongs don't look like the sphinx's legs, their positioning is reminiscent of a sphinx while their shape more closely resemble caterpillar legs. I agree that a cone and a pyramid don't look quite the same, but I thought it was worth mentioning since it's a triangular shape positioned behind what I felt looked like a sphinx, as pyramids are commonly depicted behind a sphinx, and may have been smoothed down for a more natural appearance. Here's a journal I posted (with images) that may or may not make the theory seem more convincing. [9]

It's fine, though. Other fans can interpret the (possible) sphinx caterpillar inspiration as they like. Icycatelf (talk) 15:38, 5 August 2019 (UTC)

Formulae on Bulbapedia

PokéWiki, the German encyclopedia of Encyclopædiæ Pokémonis supports tags, but Bulbapedia doesn't, and we have to add pictures of mathematical formulae instead. Why? The input

<math>EXP= \begin{cases} \frac{n^3(100-n)}{50} & {n}\leq{50} \\ \frac{n^3(150-n)}{100} & {50}\leq{n}\leq{68} \\ \frac{n^3\left \lfloor \frac{1911-10n}{3} \right \rfloor}{500} & {68}\leq{n}\leq{98}\\ \frac{n^3(160-n)}{100} & {98}\leq{n}\leq{100} \end{cases}<math>

would eventually get you to

Thank you for reading.

--TheICTLiker4 10:24, 8 August 2019 (UTC)

An image is far, far easier to do than all that.--ForceFire 12:49, 8 August 2019 (UTC)
I don't know about that, also, the tags seem much more flexible and easier to edit afterhand if we would need to fix or tweek something then uploading a new image. --Raltseye prata med mej 00:34, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
I think we should talk about this with a Webmaster because I know that Force Fire is not a Webmaster, but a Senior Administrator. --TheICTLiker4 06:51, 18 August 2019 (UTC)
I really want this extension. At the moment I make formula images by using the Math extension on Wikipedia anyway (and document the LaTeX markup I used to generate them on the Archives file pages), so it would hopefully be fairly easy to replace all of the images with their source markup if we ever install it. It would certainly make it much easier to tweak formulas when there's some minor issue that needs correcting. I've asked for this extension before, but never gotten any indication that it was being looked at being added. Adding new extensions is a server-side problem, so it's in the scope of the Webmaster's duties, but Archaic is always very busy. --SnorlaxMonster 09:31, 18 August 2019 (UTC)

Galar templates

Recently I created the {{gal}} as a standard "<subject> (region)>" link template. I would've preferred to use "ga" but that one was already in use. Now I'm wondering what shortening should I use for the Galarian equivalent of {{alo}} to create an easy way of linking Galarian forms without having to write "[[Regional variant|Galarian]] {{p|Pokémon}}" every time. Any suggestions? PS. Should the "gal" template be protected like the other similar link templates? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 08:01, 10 August 2019 (UTC)

I've protected the "Gal" template. As for the Galar equivalent for "alo", I think Glr would work just fine.--ForceFire 11:50, 10 August 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't even consider that shortening. Template has been created. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 12:33, 10 August 2019 (UTC)

Manalo Conference arc

As you saw, there has been some disagreement regarding which episode is counted as the beginning of the Manalo Conference arc: SM128 or SM129. I personally lean towards the latter because that's where the League was officially declared to have started, which has previously also been the signal to start counting the episodes as Pokémon League episodes. What's your opinion? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 07:15, 11 August 2019 (UTC)

You also might want to consult with Reinhartmax about that. He said this to say about the matter. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 10:12, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
With all due respect, I trust Force Fire's opinion more on the matter. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:32, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
The first appearance of the league marks the start of the arc. It's not the competition that has started, it's the arc.--ForceFire 11:52, 11 August 2019 (UTC)

Shaymin's Aromatherapy

With all due respect, isn't retrospectively confirming a past move a thing anymore? Because seriously, I am 100% certain that the move Shaymin used in SM117 was Aromatherapy, especially since it was now named in SM134. The animation was identical. This is ridiculous. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:35, 11 August 2019 (UTC)

I think we should wait for the captions for SM133, if they reveal Aromatherapy then it can be changed to SM117--BigDocFan (talk) 10:36, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
Words can't describe how much I hate that "let's wait for captions to confirm it" rather than using our own eyes and head. We used to do that all the time before SM. This is exactly the same as with Bolt's Electro Ball a few episodes back where Force Fire didn't consider it confirmed, despite Electro Ball and Zap Cannon having several key differences that make them look different. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:42, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
Even if it was Aromatherapy at the time, it was still first said (revealed) in SM134, not SM117. And even then, healing other Pokémon or cleansing other Pokémon is something that Shaymin can naturally do, according to its dex entries.
And just so you know, we didn't just start getting strict on moves during the SM series, we've always been strict on moves since way back when, it's just being enforced harder this series because of the amount of time people keep guessing moves. You would rather us to possibly be wrong (or have possibly false information), than to wait for confirmation.--ForceFire 11:52, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
Okay, with the latter point, I admit I may have not just noticed that, but for the former, I'm also getting tired that you brush off some things as a Pokémon's natural ability instead of a move, like this case of Aromatherapy or the earlier case with Blacephalon's Mind Blown. But SM117 is coming out in the US soon enough, so I have patience to wait for it and see what the subtitles have to say of the matter. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 12:51, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
Even if the Dub cc says that it's Aromatherapy, the move wasn't explicitly stated until SM134, making that episode the reveal episode.--ForceFire 12:58, 11 August 2019 (UTC)

As I stated before in our previous discussion: Even if the Dub cc says that it's Aromatherapy, the move wasn't explicitly stated until SM134, making that episode the reveal episode.--ForceFire 17:25, 17 August 2019 (UTC)
...Excuse me, but templates clearly say "first used in", which refers to the first chronological instance the move was used, not when it was first called out. In this case, it's irrefutably SM117. The move was revealed in that episode, not in SM134. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 17:40, 17 August 2019 (UTC)

I didn’t mean to revert. Just making a point. I never give wrong information. If you watched SM117 this morning, you would’ve seen the attack was used according to the captions. Sure nobody didn’t mentioned that move, but it was revealed nonetheless.--CoolPokéGuy (Talk) 18:38, 17 August 2019 (UTC)

FinnishPokéFan92 (talkcontribs) mentions you and Playerking95 (talkcontribs) don't see a ref of Route 20 Bird Keeper sharing the same name as It's A Wonderful Life characters (Bert and Ernie). Is it because of Swimmer Elmo? PokéSean 01:27, 21 August 2019 (UTC)

What does bird keeping have to do with the characters or the show? A reference needs more than just sharing the same name. Otherwise, we'd have people saying Michael is a reference to Michael Jordan.--ForceFire 07:20, 21 August 2019 (UTC)

Revert (yet again...)

I removed the entire thing because it wasn't notable.--ForceFire 05:20, 24 August 2019 (UTC)
So THIS was the cause for you to remove the entire thing?! And that caused channel link issues:
By Alpha ER Alpha
This video is not available on Bulbapedia; instead, you can watch the video on YouTube here.

Those issues mostly happen if the last word in the channel name (if the word is written separately) is any of these (Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Black, White, X, Y, Omega, Alpha, Sun, Moon, Ultra, Sword, Shield).
I think you should edit the template so it corresponds to this pattern:
 • XXXXXXXXXX — the 64-bit string consisting of 10 characters that corresponds to the video.
 • CHAN — channel's real name.
 • CHAL — a 22-character, 64-bit string that corresponds to the channel in the URL. If someone doesn't have a custom URL, then they should consider adding the channel/UC bit at the start of the parameter.
 • color — primary color of the box.
 • colorlight — secondary color of the box.
Actually, the video (but not the channel) loads correctly. With that being said, this was the request to change the template's coding to fix this issue. The same applies to {{YouTubeEmbed}} as well. That would cause forced edits on articles with accompanying video. --TheICTLiker4 06:10, 24 August 2019 (UTC)

Hello, Force Fire. Can I move this page to the mainspace? --TheICTLiker4 08:17, 30 August 2019 (UTC)

Why can't a former record be mentioned in the trivia section as a, well, former record? It's written in a way that makes it clear that the record belonged to this certain episode only until a certain point. I fail to see why the record being a former record would make it unworthy of being classified as Bulbapedia trivia. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 12:17, 30 August 2019 (UTC)

Trivia regarding records, unique types, highest stats, etc.. should be current information, because that's what users would be more interested in, who presently holds that title.--ForceFire 06:18, 31 August 2019 (UTC)
I think at least some users would also be quite interested in former records. Each person is an individual. You can't say that all users are interested in the same kind of information. Try to be more considerate. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 09:23, 31 August 2019 (UTC)

Rena or Reina Yamazaki?

There seems to have been a case of inconsistency regarding an animation director's name. Some episode articles/sources call her "山崎玲愛 Rena Yamazaki", while others call her "山﨑玲愛 Reina Yamazaki". We should probably somehow clarify which version is correct, since now she has two different categories for episodes animated by her. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 09:26, 10 September 2019 (UTC)

It's Reina. Our romanization template has it as such.--ForceFire 10:10, 10 September 2019 (UTC)
Okay. I went up and created a romanization template for this other version too before I found out about this, and another user also created a category for it. I'm quite concerned that Joeb4664 (talkcontribs) might be a troll account judging by their latest edits. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 01:16, 17 September 2019 (UTC)

Pages for the Mainspace

Dear ForceFire,

I have created the following two anime location pages and was hoping they could be mainspaced:

Both are fine to be mainspaced.--ForceFire 11:57, 20 September 2019 (UTC)

Naganadel's return

There's disagreement about whether Naganadel's return in SM140 counts as it rejoining Ash. TheMaskedMeowth and I think it does, while Playerking95 and GrammarFreak01 think not. What's your opinion? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:49, 22 September 2019 (UTC)

I agree that the line between Naganadel rejoining Ash or not is a little blurry here. A definitive response from an admin will do. What say you? GrammarFreak01 (talk) 10:51, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
The moment it returns to its Pokeball/released from its Pokeball (to use in battle) is the moment it rejoins his team I would think.--ForceFire 05:48, 23 September 2019 (UTC)
Okay, that was my impression as well. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 06:29, 23 September 2019 (UTC)

Remove talk page message

Even though I reverted the user's other edits, I wasn't sure if I should remove that talk page message from that sockpuppet account. But thanks for doing it anyway. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 05:02, 24 September 2019 (UTC)

All vandal edits should be reverted, talkpage or otherwise.--ForceFire 05:11, 24 September 2019 (UTC)
Okay, I understand. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 05:41, 24 September 2019 (UTC)

My edit was undone

I just noticed that my edit on Cherubi's Pokedex entry for Black/White was undone by you. May I ask why? I only did it to match the entry on Serebii. Char89 (talk) 19:57, 29 September 2019 (UTC)

Not only that, I checked my old Black version, and the entry matched that on Serebii as well. Char89 (talk) 20:03, 29 September 2019 (UTC)

How the hell is that different?

[10] You said yourself "Not unique=not notable" (which TBH I still think is a stupid rule). I fail to see how it's different, especially if it's 4 Pokémon compared to the 2 I brought up. ¿¡Unowninator?! (talk) 15:55, 30 September 2019 (UTC)

Probably not my place to speak but I think the Sirfetch'd and Bellossom trivia should wait for now until the games come out to see if there are any other evolved Pokémon that end up sharing their unique attribute of losing a type or two upon evolution. There is also Mega-Aggron who becomes a mono-type upon mega evolving in battle. Frozen Fennec 16:13, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
The dex trivia isn't a "uniqueness" trivia. It's not saying they all share something, it's saying they've appeared in all Pokedexes.--ForceFire 16:41, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Sounds like they share that in common IMO. ¿¡Unowninator?! (talk) 17:04, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
I'm with Unowninator here too... it absolutely is saying they all share something. The word "only" indicates that it is, in fact, a "uniqueness" trivia. The format and structure is basically the same between the two examples. Definitely a double standard here.
I agree that the not unique=not notable rule is a very silly rule. It's still very noteworthy that Sirfetch'd loses a type upon evolution, regardless of if Bellossom is the same case. --celadonk (talk) 17:20, 30 September 2019 (UTC)

Thank you Celdadonkey. So what do you say ForceFire? ¿¡Unowninator?! (talk) 19:30, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

Reworded to to sound like less of a uniqueness trivia. Saying they've all been in every regional Pokedex is not the same as saying two things share an attribute.--ForceFire 07:01, 2 October 2019 (UTC)
It's saying that five things share an attribute. Multiple evolution lines being in every regional Pokedex is also "sharing an attribute". It is the same. If anything, it's worse, if we go by the principle of "not unique=not notable".
So why not reword the Sirfetch'd example too? "Sirfetch'd loses a type upon evolution, like Bellossom." But Unowninator's original wording is less clunky, as well as being more interesting, as was the original wording on the list by evolution family. IMO, both should be kept as what they said in the links provided above by Unowninator.
I'm still pretty convinced that there are things that are notable, despite them not being unique. Uniqueness isn't the only criteria for being interesting. --celadonk (talk) 02:04, 3 October 2019 (UTC)

Well said. So can we please reword the Sirfetch'd thing? ¿¡Unowninator?! (talk) 17:14, 4 October 2019 (UTC)

I agree that the Sirfetch'd and Bellossom trivia is notable, but Force Fire undid my revision without providing any reason. There is a lot of trivia on this site that isn't unique, for example Muk AND Mew having the shortest names so that whole "not unique=not notable" isn't true.Huntress (talk) 10:04, 14 October 2019 (UTC)

Edit to Ash Ketchum

Hey, I was hoping to get more context on your revision to my edit on Ash Ketchum, especially why you felt that removing an internal link to the first Pokemon film to not star Ash (something with historical significance) was needed and extra especially why you wonder why pointing out that he hasn't starred in every Pokemon movie is even needed considering "Ash has starred in every Pokemon film" is factually untrue and has no buisness being on an encyclopedia. - unsigned comment from Wendigo (talkcontribs)

I reworded it to animated films, because as far as I'm aware, Ash has appeared in every animated Pokémon film. I feel that the live action movie should be an obvious exclusion for an article that is anime focused.--ForceFire 05:11, 4 October 2019 (UTC)

Pikachu210 (talkcontribs) created a talk page on Blush Mountain but then blanked the page soon after because what they had to say was more suited for a forum. Could you delete it, please? GrammarFreak01 (talk) 20:01, 6 October 2019 (UTC)

DevilsAdvocado (talkcontribs) created a sandbox in their talk page as soon as they joined this site. I just wanted to let you know that, considering I noticed Sundar (talkcontribs) did that hours ago and that was unacceptable. Speaking of which, could these two accounts be related since they did the exact same thing? Maybe you should look into that too. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 05:19, 8 October 2019 (UTC)

Hey, this is said user. I don't know who GrammarFreak01 is. I just noticed I was breaking the rules with what I did. I joined so I could make an edit to Poké_Problem because it was lacking a lot of info and since it was nowhere to be found I decided to put it out there. I'm also really bad at wiki and have little idea what I'm doing. I made the sandbox because I thought that was a place I could make lots of edits and no one would care. I noticed the 'marked for deletion', figured out I was breaking rules, went to the editors hub and found this. And we are at now. And I forgot to sign the edit I just made. I'll sign here. --DevilsAdvocado (talk) 05:30, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
Also I just realized that I said I'm not associated with GrammarFreak01 but that is who posted. I should be noting that I'm unrelated to Sundar. I also fixed an error in my user name above that gave a broken link.--DevilsAdvocado (talk) 05:33, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
It's just that Sundar did the same thing as you did when they joined not too long ago, from my knowledge. Seeing you do this as well is very suspicious. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 05:41, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
That's fair. Anyway, the sandbox page is ready for deletion. I apologize for not reading the rules well enough before doing things. --DevilsAdvocado (talk) 05:54, 8 October 2019 (UTC)

(resetting indent)Neither of them share the same IP address. I've also deleted the sandbox.--ForceFire 08:36, 8 October 2019 (UTC)

LGPE template?

I was wondering, when will the {{Pokémon}} template for the Let's Go games be ready? And just a suggestion, could Mega Evolving Pokémon have their own separate template so that the Mega Stone slot doesn't show up in every Pokémon's template? And while we're waiting for the template to come into use, could you at least edit {{Pokémon/7}} to display "No Ability" instead of "No ability"? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 12:59, 10 October 2019 (UTC)

TehPerson has a template in their userspace, User:TehPerson/Pokémon/7, which I think should be fine to go. Needs to be approved by other staff members.
I'll suggest that to the other staff members.
Don't think that's necessary. The section would get filled in anyway, so it's of no concern.--ForceFire 08:02, 11 October 2019 (UTC)
Oh, yeah. I recalled seeing that somewhere. Thanks! I hope the approval comes soon. How long should it take?
Thank you. I'll be waiting for news about that.
Yeah. I don't mind that not being there too much, especially if the Let's Go template comes into use soon. I just figured that it's a leftover from the time when the word "Ability" used to be written with a lowercase "a". --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 13:07, 11 October 2019 (UTC)

Raichu BW

Greetings friend, from th ewonderful world of Africa! Raichu is a notable mention for Pokemon that did not appear in BW due to its being part of Pikachu's evolutionary line annd tha tit has appeared in every single other series and region in the anime.. I cannot think of any othe rPokemon save for the butterfree line that has appeared in every series.

You guys mentioned the Magicarp salesman in the XY series article and until XY he appeared so what makes Raichu not special, that he's a Pokemon? You speciist. (joking), but anyway, Raichu is notable as it appears in Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Kallos, and Alola. BW is the only series that there are no Raichu in, and give nPikachu's close connection to Raichu given that is the evolution of th emascot of the whole damn franchise, is that not noteworthy? I don't know maybe us Ugandans think differently than our neighbours accross the Indian Ocean. (that's another joke) African Vulture (talk) 07:48, 11 October 2019 (UTC)

Being Pikachu's evolution doesn't give it a special status, it gets treated as any other Pokémon. I removed it because other Pokémon have also not appeared in an entire series. As for all but one series, someone is going to have to fact check that, other Gen I Pokémon may have appeared in all but one series.--ForceFire 08:02, 11 October 2019 (UTC)

I've looked and so far at least, only Raichu has that distinction. There are exactly 0 appearences of Raichu in all BW episodes and movies. African Vulture (talk) 08:32, 11 October 2019 (UTC)

My Edits

Why did you undo all of my edits, without giving any reason?Huntress (talk) 09:59, 14 October 2019 (UTC)

I reverted the Bellossom/Sirfetch'd trivia because it wasn't unique to one Pokémon and the other two because the wording should be relevant to the article (so in this case, the wording should be "X has Y along with Z" not "X and Z has Y" because the page is about X not Z).--ForceFire 12:00, 14 October 2019 (UTC)
The Muk and Mew thing isn't UNIQUE to one Pokémon, I think the Bellossom and Sirfetch'd is still notable without being uniqueHuntress (talk) 12:33, 14 October 2019 (UTC)

Oh, okay. So that wouldn't count as a sockpuppet? GrammarFreak01 (talk) 05:28, 19 October 2019 (UTC)
Highly unlikely it's a sockpuppet.--ForceFire 05:34, 19 October 2019 (UTC)

Shipping talk:ApprenticeShipping

This talk page is getting really out of hand with the pedophilia comments, which I think are just personalized comments that do not belong there. What do you think should be done about this? GrammarFreak01 (talk) 21:06, 21 October 2019 (UTC)

I've blanked the page because of the controversial content full of personal views but a user is insisting on keeping all of it. We need to draw a line on this. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 21:12, 21 October 2019 (UTC)

Bisharp and Pawniard

I think the trivia you removed is still worth mentioning, as it is no longer possible for any Pokémon to have a double resistance to ghost, meaning they were the only ones to ever have it.--Rahl (talk) 12:19, 22 October 2019 (UTC)

Why do admins push for users to use talk pages if none of them ever respond? Lately it feels like I can't an answer from any authority figure despite seeing them make edits.--Rahl (talk) 13:35, 23 October 2019 (UTC)
Not to rush you, but just saying you're going to get to my message a week ago doesn't help convince me that you take responding to your own talk page seriously.--Rahl (talk) 10:20, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
Meta-game trivia like those are only notable if they are current to the latest generation, as the people that would find those interesting (i.e. competitive players) would only be interested in what is current not in what used to be.--ForceFire 05:25, 1 November 2019 (UTC)
So it's not worth mentioning they were the only Pokémon to ever have this distinction? I think it is on the basis that it can never happen again.--Rahl (talk) 10:29, 1 November 2019 (UTC)
It's meta game trivia. As far as meta game trivia goes, highest/lowest (base) stats and whatever other record is current is as far as we are going with it.--ForceFire 12:09, 1 November 2019 (UTC)
Fair enough, I suppose. Thank you.--Rahl (talk) 12:34, 1 November 2019 (UTC)

Ash's Rowlet and Pumpkinking's block

I've decided to go the respectful and polite route and bring this up to you directly.

I really don't want to discuss trivia, but as far as I can tell, I tend to agree to what Pumpkinking said (i.e., the content). It's one thing to disallow adding a trivium with a hidden note (and generally, one thing I already don't particularly like), but it is certainly another one to do so for different reasons than what your hidden note says (which is what apparently happened here).

I cannot understand why anyone would do that, or why anyone would repeatedly undo other users that try to correct that.

From what I can tell, your first reaction (or at least one of your first reactions) was to take it to the talk page. That's good - but why would you then just ignore all the talk page discussion? My (outside but subjective) take is you've basically been ignoring all of Pumpkinking's legitimate concerns, and went ahead exactly your way anyway (backed up by pulling authority rather than reaching a consensus).

If your next reaction continues to be "Stop disobeying staff", then that, in my opinion, displays a kind of behavior I would rather not see from a staff member; it encourages other users to not discuss or challenge bad decisions but rather to just "obey" and do what staff has done regardless of its meaningfulness. (For a lack of edit summary, I do not certainly know Grammarfreak's reasoning for undoing Pumpkinking's final edit, but I would imagine it's just that.)

Based on your message at Pumpkinking's talk page, you were the one to set the block duration all on your own, is that correct? If that's the case, then that ultimately means you went for a harsh penalty for what could very well have ended in a consensus. (As for that message: I also see a "lapse in logic", so I can't understand why you postulate there was none.)

I genuinely hope this message helps you self-reflect and reconsider your actions. I'll be waiting to read your response soon. Sincerely, Nescientist (talk) 16:49, 23 October 2019 (UTC)

1) There is no other reasoning. The reasoning in the hidden note is the reason why that trivium shouldn't be allowed. The whole "working on the assumption that one..." comment is something that doesn't need to be said and is just understood by the context of the trivia itself. It is not the reason why the fully evolved trivia is not notable.
2) I told Pumpkinking to take it to the talk page. Which he did. But he still reverted the edit anyway even after leaving a message, prompting me to lock the page for a day. You do not leave a message on the talk page and continue to revert an edit. You leave a message and wait for a response, which Pumpkin apparently did not have the patience for. I also did not ignore Pumpkin's comments, I responded to each one. Not sure how you missed my comments when my signature is bright yellow.
3) Is continuing to revert the edit after staff told him not to not disobeying staff? What would it be then? Had he actually listened and not reverted my edits, then I would not have blocked him.
5) I went with a harsher tone in the edit summary and harsher tone in the message because Pumpkin has a history of ignoring staff messages and continuing edit wars. You have not be here long enough to know how Pumpkinking edits and behaves. He has been blocked before for similar behaviors. Don't act like you know Pumpkinking's editing patterns. If it was anyone else with such a long and "decorated" history, I would've also given them a harsh penalty based off that.
6) There is nothing to "self reflect" on my end. Pumpkinking was being the usual stubborn Pumpkinking he has always been. Not sure why you think this was necessary when 1) you don't know his history and 2) the matter has been resolved (for now).--ForceFire 17:36, 23 October 2019 (UTC)
First of all, thanks for answering.
1) That makes it all the more weird. Pumpkinking laid out how that reasoning doesn't make sense (and "Claim 1 doesn't imply Claim 2"), from their very first edit summary all the way down the talk page. As I said, I tend to agree.
2) I didn't defend their behavior, so we're fine here. (And by "ignore", of course, I meant that you ignored their legitimate concerns, not that you literally didn't answer.)
3) You said that after he had done a totally different thing, one that I'd have digested as the talk page's consensus of sorts. (But in general, you're right of course, edit warring is bad.)
5) I've been active for more than three years, which means I've witnessed more than 8000 of Pumpkinking's edits. I won't pretend I know every single of them by heart, but if I claimed I knew his editing patterns, you could hardly call that acting. Anyway, I wasn't arguing that at all; ultimately, I was saying exactly what I was saying: that you went for a harsh penalty for what could very well have ended in a consensus.
6) Frankly, lack of self reflection, too, is behavior I would rather not see from a staff member. If you're being honest, you're being just as stubborn. I wouldn't know how I'd need to know Pumpkinking's history before writing what I wrote. And finally, you just declared that matter resolved after you blocked the other party; I would hardly call that "resolving". I already said I tend to agree, so you could've realized it's not resolved from my end.
I left a message on abcboy's talk page, requesting a third party (or fourth, idk) to help re-evaluate, resolve and oversee the issue. (Of course, feel free to invite any other staff member.) Nescientist (talk) 19:05, 23 October 2019 (UTC)
1) And I've mentioned how Pumpkingking is being too complicated. He's thinking about the "what ifs" when there are no "what ifs". It's not our problem if someone isn't up to speed with the anime, that's on them to figure out for themselves. Claim 1 does imply Claim 2 in this instance because there are no "what ifs".
3) Pumpkinking has been here for a very long time, so I expect him to know not to continue edit warring. I am more harsher and stricter on those that have been here for quite a long time and still don't follow rules or policy.
5) You seem to miss my main reasoning for giving him a harsher block, which is because of his history of doing this sort of stuff. He has ignored staff before, and that was what I based the one month block after. If he didn't have history, then I would've went for a shorter block.
6) And that makes me confused as why you are speaking on behalf of Pumpkinking. I get being concerned about how a staff member handles a conflict, but thinking someone's block was too harsh when you don't know that user's history is baffling, almost as if you're putting your nose in where it does belong. And I did say it was resolved "for now", as in until Pumpkin's block expires and he makes whatever action he wants to make.
A side note, as I stated above, I get being concerned over how a staff member handles a conflict, but I'm pretty sure you can't appeal for someone else to be unblocked or get a shorter block. Pretty sure only the person that is blocked can do that.--ForceFire 05:25, 1 November 2019 (UTC)
1) And I tend to agree with Pumpkinking, not with you: Claim 1 doesn't imply Claim 2, per basic logic (Pumpkinking already laid out). What's the problem with Pumpkinking's rewording? I don't get it. Let's just have someone mediate. All I can say is that I'm not comfortable with the current state of the page (with that weird hidden text reasoning).
3) and 5) and 6) This edit is not kosher - ignoring the circumstances, it's very likely a blockable offense that I'd happily watch staff issue a block for (and if it's someone with history, even for a month or longer). But my point is you need to consider the specific case: I believe Pumpkinking is "right" here (and you're "wrong"), they were trying to discuss but you just discussed different things and had it your way anyway. (I.e., assuming staff didn't try to resolve this at all, or assuming you weren't a staff member, I would do that edit myself.)
Let me try to illustrate: the following is drastically simplified, but just imagine it was about some audio where someone says "Pikachu" but you falsely understand "Pichu", then someone (Pumpkinking or whoever) changes your "Pichu" to "Pikachu", then you argue or undo each other for a bit ("He clearly says Pikachu"/"Pikachu doesn't make sense here, he says Pichu"/...). At some point later, it's arguably edit warring to just undo your Pichu (once again, without an edit summary), but hadn't you been wrong ("stubborn"?) all the time, it wouldn't have happened. (It's more complex than that here, but the circumstances matter very much, that's what I'm saying. Plus, there's two parties here that could've done better imo. Yet what I'm understanding is you unilaterally issued a block that considered neither.)
As for being able to appeal on someone else's behalf, I'm under the impression I might be able to do that (and if I wasn't the Editorial Board hopefully would have notified me by now). Anyway, it ultimately doesn't really matter, because even if there was no such "legal basis", my issues remain very much the same, and I'd request staff address them regardless. Nescientist (talk) 09:27, 2 November 2019 (UTC)

For a good time now, I've been bugged by the fact that the downloadable PWT tournament about the Unova League is title as "You Can Challenge the Isshu League Too!" while another downloadable tournament is titled "Challenge the Champion Lance". Shouldn't the Unova League tournament's title be translated as "You Can Challenge the Unova League Too!" for consistency's sake? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 17:13, 23 October 2019 (UTC)

I've asked but didn't really get much of a response. Though looking through the history of those two pages, there doesn't seem to be an indication of any changes to the title, they've both been like that since they were created. I personally think it should be fine to move for consistency sake.--ForceFire 05:25, 1 November 2019 (UTC)

We have a title and summary for the first episode of the New series, Pikachu is Born In a forest somewhere in Kanto, there once was a lonely Pichu. This Pichu, who was still very young, went through a certain encounter and farewell. This all took place shortly before Satoshi and his partner Pikachu started their journey. Lugia (New Series)

I know its a bit early but sensing that Lugia may be getting an important role during the new series, I decided to create a page so it could gets it own mainspace article. As Lugia already has its own anime page, was wondering if Lugia (New Series) was the right name for it, assuming that this isn't the same Lugia that appeared before--BigDocFan (talk) 10:48, 5 November 2019 (UTC)

As much as I feel having "New series" as the parenthesis is just bleh, there really isn't any other option.--ForceFire 12:02, 5 November 2019 (UTC)

Hey, can you talk with the other admins and decide if Mimikyu and Mareanie were left at the TR Alola Branch or released?--Pikablu (talk) 12:22, 5 November 2019 (UTC)

Block Request

Hello Force Fire, this is Sundar. I won't use this account to edit anything else until November 12, but I was wondering if you could increase the block on that account to indefinite and let me use this account here instead. I'm asking this because I really like this name more and would like to use it here on Bulbapedia. I promise to obey all the rules here. Thank you. November Rose (talk) 12:56, 6 November 2019 (UTC)

November Rose

Please block this account due to it being a sockpuppet of Sundar, who is currently blocked. If an account is blocked with the parameter "account creation disabled", then it may not create sockpuppets. --TheICTLiker4piszże do mnie 15:25, 6 November 2019 (UTC)

This is November Rose, also known as Sundar, and I want to use this name here from now on. That is why I made this account. I'm hoping Sundar will be blocked indefinitely and I can just be November Rose here, as per my section above. November Rose (talk) 17:55, 6 November 2019 (UTC)
Sorry, but I misread everything. :( --TheICTLiker4piszże do mnie 18:44, 6 November 2019 (UTC)

My previous block

See your Archives talk page for details. Then, it's that I, on Bikini Miltank's userpage, made the edit for a good reason. On abcboy's userpage the edit was also made justly because: see this page for more details. --TheICTLiker4piszże do mnie 15:41, 6 November 2019 (UTC)

I wasn't aware you left a message on my archives talk page. Fixing the template on Bikini Miltank's userpage was fine. But you shouldn't edited abcboy's userpage without his permission. Even if he prefers his name to be typed in lowercase, you still need to ask for permission to add that, that's not your call to make. Maybe there was a reason he never put the lowercase template in the first place.--ForceFire 05:20, 7 November 2019 (UTC)

Dan333 is being very agressive and even left a message on my user page instead of my talk page. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 17:29, 9 November 2019 (UTC)

And now he's even resorting to outright vandalism. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 17:30, 9 November 2019 (UTC)
I'm trying not to get involved but can't help but noticed he's doing the same to someone else--BigDocFan (talk) 17:40, 9 November 2019 (UTC)
Unfortunately my attempts to be polite with him about it has led to him doing the same to me--BigDocFan (talk) 17:47, 9 November 2019 (UTC)
If he will continue to vandalize user pages (and other pages), then he will be blocked indefinitely. --TheICTLiker4piszże do mnie 07:34, 10 November 2019 (UTC)

I have reason to believe this user may be a sockpuppet account of Kittystyler (talkcontribs). Their edits, like the original account and other sockpuppet accounts, tend to focus on friendships and relationships:

Plus, their username is extremely similar to previous sockpuppet accounts Pokegirl22 (talkcontribs) and Pokefan1996 (talkcontribs). Do you think you can look into this? GrammarFreak01 (talk) 05:02, 10 November 2019 (UTC)

Did a check and the user is indeed Kittystyler. I have blocked them.--ForceFire 05:54, 10 November 2019 (UTC)
Excellent! Just as I suspected. Thanks! GrammarFreak01 (talk) 06:07, 10 November 2019 (UTC)

Irregardless. You cannot edit other user's userpages without their permission. It's that simple. This will be your last warning about editing other user's userpages without permission, as this is a rule you clearly have trouble abiding.--ForceFire 16:53, 13 November 2019 (UTC)
Can I get blocked forever for that? --TheICTLiker4piszże do mnie 17:01, 13 November 2019 (UTC)

I'd like to request a category.

User:Unowninator/Category:Moves unusable in Generation VIII‎

Some moves can no longer be used. I'd like to make this a category. May we please do so? If the answer is no, then you may as well delete the page. ¿¡Unowninator?! (talk) 04:30, 8 December 2019 (UTC)

I'm sure there'll be a category for those move later down the line. Also, I reverted your edits to those move because saying something should be "recommended to be forgotten" is very un-encyclopedic and comes off as being salty.--ForceFire 05:21, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
Those were the games words, not mine. ¿¡Unowninator?! (talk) 05:28, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
The re-word is better.--ForceFire 05:34, 8 December 2019 (UTC)

Unblock Galar page

Hey! I was wondering if you could unblock the Galar page for us to edit like the Trivia. PokéSean (talk) 22:55, 8 December 2019 (UTC)

While you're at it, can you please also unblock the Pseudo-legendary Pokémon page? Mr. Daikon (talk) 04:45, 9 December 2019 (UTC)
I've lowered the protection to the Galar article. The pseudo legendary article is never getting unprotected, due to edit wars in the past over the definition of a pseudo legendary.--ForceFire 05:22, 9 December 2019 (UTC)

Dub edits

Well, that was very unpleasant of you to revert my edits from last month just because you feel they aren't dub edits. I knew about this, but I couldn't get back since all edits were locked. But that's not the end of it.

I'll use this episode as an example first, only because you want to talk about paint edits. How come one particular scene (with a paint edit) where Professor Birch's stack of books wasn't mentioned, yet other paint edits in the Kanto saga were mentioned to begin with? Granted, it wasn't Japanese text, but made-up text that the producers added to give 4Kids the reason to not bother with paint edits in then-subsequent releases. Made-up symbols (I don't know what to call them at this point) was also present in one of the AG episodes (I don't remember which... maybe "Like A Meowth to a Flame"?) 4Kids painted them out, yet they're not even mentioned here. This policy sounds very hypocritical to me, especially since this is the only dub episode that didn't get the paint edit treatment, yet it was still mentioned otherwise, and it didn't seem to "affect the flow or context of a scene/episode".

The dub adding final dub commercial break eyecatches in certain positions where it didn't exist in the Japanese version IS notable. It's still a dub edit because it didn't exist in the previous 3 seasons AND the Japanese version. That edit was put in place due to some ridiculous policy from Kids WB, and possibly because they were unhappy with the music video segments, as they had the tendency to edit them out. I'm pretty sure Cardcaptors is to be blamed here, especially since Kids WB mandated edits in that disjointed dub. It wouldn't surprise me if they were also responsible for managing the old 4Kids dub all in the name of money! I also want to mention that TPCI did similar edits in most Battle Frontier/DP era episodes, yet it's not even mentioned here at all. That's because the dub didn't have any commercial break eyecatch until the start of BW. Again, dub edit.

There were instances where 4Kids felt like snipping random scenes for no reason whatsoever, and I wanted to share that research and knowledge here. But according to your world (excuse me... Bulbapedia policy), the edits "aren't notable". Yes, they are notable. While binge watching the old dub, I noticed questionable gaps. In "The bug stops here", I knew something was missing and it was worth mentioning here, seeing that it was likely removed during post-production. I also want to mention "A Promise is a Promise"; right before the commercial break, there was a 2-second shot of the twerps running past the Rocket grunts that was removed in the dub, causing a noticeable gap in the original soundtrack that ended abruptly. Why is it bad to mention scenes that made it to the cutting room floor if no other website is even reporting these edits? I didn't know how much content was snipped in the old dub if it hadn't been for me watching the japanese version. This is another dub edit that you don't want me to mention.

But this gets better, I promise you that. This episode had a scene removed in the dub for content, which also caused a noticeable gap in the original soundtrack that ended abruptly. Not only that, the same soundtrack had a portion in the beginning removed. And how about a dialogue edit that contradicted a later scene in the dub. The context of the scene was changed yet it didn't make sense anyway. Still worth mentioning. So how come the slapping scenes in EP001 and EP003 are mentioned? What was so special about the content edits in those episodes??

So I'm going to ask again, how is this small change notable?? Or a scene substitution edit towards the end? Speaking about scene substitutions, this AG episode had the same edit, but it's not mentioned here. Again, what was so special about the scene substitution edit in that Kanto episode that the AG episode didn't have? A dub edit is a dub edit, no matter what and it looks like Bulbapedia has its own definition of what's a dub edit. "Anything else that is notable that is dub related, but isn't necessarily an edit, goes in the main trivia section." No, I will not add my research in trivia section, they belong in dub edits. But don't worry, I won't bother adding back my knowledge, I will take them somewhere else where others can learn how much 4Kids mangled with the old dub.

Charizard's Fire Spin is referred to as Ember in the dub./Squirtle's Bubble Beam is referred to as Bubble in the dub. A dub edit, you don't say... In the dub, the Pokédex incorrectly identifies Charizard's Dragon Rage as Rage. But attack misidentifications are errors! Again, inconsistent policy that makes no sense whatsoever.

Good luck with this wiki. I'm sure I can do an excellent job reporting dub edits if no one else wants to. Sinnoh Master (talk) 02:15, 9 December 2019 (UTC)

The EP018 paint edits are notable because it changes the context of the scene. The oil text being edited out is notable, as it then becomes Meowth pumping an unknown liquid into the restaurant where in the original it is specifically said to be oil. Japanese text being left in is notable as the dub usually removes them. The trophy saying completely different things between versions is notable as it changes the context on what the trophy is for (the winner of the competition for the original, Ash for saving the city in the dub).
It's simply not notable when the dub adds a commercial break, it's just expected. Whether there was some malicious intent behind the placement is all speculation and does not belong on the wiki.
If the cut out scene doesn't change the narrative of the story, then it's not notable. If it's just the gang running past Team Rocket that was cut out, then it's not notable. If it was a scene of the gang running into a pitfall trap that was cut out, then it'd be notable. These scenes that were cut out where basically nothing of note happens is not notable, because no one will find it interesting. They'll probably read it and go "that's it?".
The slapping scenes in EP001 and EP003 are notable because they are censorship. Not because they break the narrative of the story. Censorship is notable.
The EP112 edit is a dub edit because the dub changes the moves from what they were in the original. Might need a refresher on EP105, but Dragon Rage was referred to as Dragon in the rest of the episode except for the one scene.--ForceFire 06:01, 9 December 2019 (UTC)

Sweet Scent

Can we confirm that Mallow's Tsareena used Sweet Scent in the episode where she evolved for the second time? What she used to lure Rowlet was literally identical in both looks and effect to what earlier episodes had confirmed as Sweet Scent. Shouldn't that be enough proof? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 13:18, 10 December 2019 (UTC)

I agree with this, I think it's ridiculous we're claiming we don't know when everything points to it.--Rahl (talk) 14:02, 10 December 2019 (UTC)

I'm indifferent to this, was it ever said to be Sweet Scent in later episodes? I don't really remember. You can ask for other opinions if you like.--ForceFire 04:59, 14 December 2019 (UTC)

Scone Man

I was wondering if the Scone Man featured in SS004 was worthy of his own character page as he did feature heavily in the second half--BigDocFan (talk) 13:35, 10 December 2019 (UTC)

Confusing nickname

Good evening. The user Snom uses an exact Pokémon name as their username, which is prohibited by Username policy. Just thought I should notify you. Thanks. Kikugi (talk) 12:41, 11 December 2019 (UTC)

The policy exempts those that use the name before it gets added to the blacklist.--ForceFire 14:03, 11 December 2019 (UTC)

Pokemon should be discussed as a species, not individual pokemon.

When speaking about the behaviors of Pokemon, or things that affect or are applicable to a species of Pokemon as a whole, the Pokemon should be referenced in plural form. For instance, under Origin on the Cursola page, "Cursola appears" should be "Cursola appear", because this section describes the origin of all Cursola, not just one member of this species.

This is proper grammar. Let me know your thoughts on the contrary. Thank you for your time! :) - unsigned comment from ‎Evanodson1 (talkcontribs)

Don't really have a satisfying answer other than either is correct, "appears" just flows better. Also, you can't re-sign an unsigned comment as it gives off the wrong timestamp.--ForceFire 05:20, 14 December 2019 (UTC)

Charizard origin source?

Hi, I'd like to point out that the TCG source about Charizard being inspired by dragons is a source used by Wikipedia; what makes it not official confirmation? It's publicity from TPCI stating that Charizard and Gyarados are inspired by dragons. --Darthrai (talk) 19:13, 13 December 2019 (UTC)

TPCI did not design Charizard and Gyarados. Game Freak did. A Japanese designer did. So anything that the international company says about the origins of a Pokémon means absolutely nothing. An interview with the original designer would be the absolute source for origins.--ForceFire 04:59, 14 December 2019 (UTC)

Talk page thingie

TossedDwarf5019 (talkcontribs) has created two talk pages, one in Bulbapedia and one in the Archives, both of which talk about the same thing. The thing is, the Bulbapedia one was created on a talk page complete unrelated to the subject (the size of Generation VIII Pokémon menu sprites), and the Archives talk page was created for a random Generation VIII menu sprite image. Just thought I'd let you know. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 17:00, 15 December 2019 (UTC)

Starters =/= Capture

"Scorbunny's capture marks the first time a main character gets a new Pokémon before Ash in an anime saga." How is that not true? I wasn't talking about starter, I was talking about catches. Go had the option of having all three of Kanto and chose none, Always, the first capture of a region was reserved for Ash. Pidove came before Woobat was revealed, Froakie came in the second episode, Misty came to catch something there in episode 20, Starly came in the beginning, Swellow in the fourth episode, SM all came to have their newest Poké captured well after. If the subject is Starter Ash is still ahead, why well, err ... Pikachu? --Hikaru Wazana (talk) 17:21, 15 December 2019 (UTC)

Hello, I have a problem. I've been looking for the Rare Candy location in 1F of Veilstone City building. He is truly not here in my version Pokémon Diamond. RF template

Hey! Probably a little nitpick of mine, but the regional form template has an empty space that's included in part of the link. I'll provide you with an example: Galarian Weezing. Just put your mouse on "Galarian" and you should see it. Thank you! GrammarFreak01 (talk) 03:26, 3 January 2020 (UTC)

The extra space for linking "Alolan Form"/"Galarian Form", which won't work if it were to use just one parser. I tried to make an alternative that does away with the space, but was unsuccessful. It's something that, until there's a way to use just one parser with screwing up the target link, it's just how it is.--ForceFire 12:36, 3 January 2020 (UTC)

Not too sure how we handle VAs that only had one major role in a movie and not in the main series anime. I don't think she's notable, we won't know how recurring Go's Taillow is going to be, even if Go's a main character. Could be worth waiting a bit more.--ForceFire 12:36, 3 January 2020 (UTC)
