Compound Eyes (Japanese: ふくがん Compound Eyes), formatted as Compoundeyes prior to Pokémon X and Y, is an Ability introduced in Generation III.

In battle

Compound Eyes increases the accuracy of moves used by the Pokémon with this Ability by multiplying the original accuracy by a factor of 1.3. This means that Thunder, for example, has 91% accuracy as opposed to the usual 70% (70 × 1.3 = 91%). It does not affect one-hit knockout moves.

Affected moves

The table below lists the moves affected by Compound Eyes, as well as the Pokémon that can have Compound Eyes and learn those moves.

Although the following moves are affected by the Ability, they currently cannot be learned by any Pokémon with Compound Eyes. They may, however, be called via Metronome, Mirror Move, Copycat, or Mimic, or be used by a Pokémon that gained Compound Eyes by an Ability like Trace or Receiver or a move such as Skill Swap or Role Play.

Outside of battle

From Pokémon Emerald onward, if a Pokémon with this Ability leads the party (even if fainted), the chances of finding a wild Pokémon holding an item increase from 50%/5% to 60%/20%. In dark grass in Generation V, the chances increase from 50%/5%/1% to 60%/20%/5%. Since Generation VIII, this effect is shared with Super Luck.

Generation IX

In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Compound Eyes has no effect on the items held by wild Pokémon.
