Dexter (Japanese: ビック Vick) is a character in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. He is the announcer and one of the judges of the Pokémon Super Contests. His appearance is designed after the Gentleman Trainer class.

In the core series games

Dexter in the games

Dexter appears as the master of ceremonies and one of the Pokémon Super Contest Judges in Hearthome City, Sinnoh in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. He appears to be a kind man who genuinely enjoys his work, despite limited interaction with the player. His input appears to be somewhat more important in the Acting Competition than Keira's or Jordan's, as raising his Voltage to maximum gains the Pokémon's Coordinator eight points instead of five. Also, he sits in the center of the three judges and has a heart under his name.

His appearance looks somewhat different in the games to the manga. In the games, he appears as a somewhat tall man with a full head of white hair, wearing a bow-tie.

Diamond & Pearl arc

Dexter was first seen in the Hearthome City Contest Hall when Platinum arrived and determinedly swore an oath to partake in the next day's Super Contest. After Diamond was given a Poffin Case and created various mixes of excellent Poffins for her that brought up Prinplup's Coolness stat high, which impressed Dexter, she saw opposition in several jealous contestants whose intervention nearly had her backing out before Diamond brought her spirits up, after which she managed to win nevertheless, utilizing a combination of Bubble, Metal Claw, Ice Beam, and Peck.

A young Dexter was later seen in a picture with a younger Johanna in Diamond's home. He was also seen with his fellow judges at the Lost Tower after having been sent there because of the fight between Dialga and Palkia that caused time and space to distort.

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Adventure!

Dexter appeared in Beauty Contest: The Pokémon Super Contest!!, where he was seen judging the Super Contest that Hareta and Jun had entered. He was highly tolerant of their antics, which included being hit by a Brine and Peck combination by Hareta's Piplup. However, when Jun's Staravia blew his hat off with Whirlwind, exposing his bald head, he lost his temper and disqualified both Jun and Hareta from the competition.
