Effect
Heat Wave inflicts damage and has a 10% chance of burning the target. Heat Wave hits both opposing Pokémon in double battles.

Trivia
- Unusually, many Flying-type Pokémon can learn Heat Wave by Platinum move tutor, despite it being a Fire-type move. However, this may be because Heat Wave's Japanese name contains the word "wind".
- With the exception of Mew and Arceus, Vibrava and Flygon are the only Pokémon who can learn this move by tutoring that are not Flying nor Fire type.
