Focus Punch (Japanese: きあいパンチ Roaring Punch) is a highly-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation III.
Effect
The user of Focus Punch will charge up during the start of then turn, then attack on the end, unless it is hit by the opponent's move, in which case it will lose its focus and be unable to move.
If used in a double battle, the user will make its move the last of all four Pokémon. The Pokémon will be unable to make its move if hit before launching the attack.
In Mystery Dungeon series, Focus Punch instead has a charge-up turn (akin to Skull Bash, Sky Attack, et cetera), and can hit even when the user is hit during the turn of charge-up, unless the user is inflicted with Paralysis.
