Gust (Japanese: かぜおこし Stir Up Wind) is a damage-dealing Flying-type move introduced in Generation I. Prior to Generation II, it was a Normal-type move.

Effect

Generation I

Gust deals damage and has no secondary effect.

It is a Normal-type move in this generation.

Generation II

Gust is now a Flying-type move.

Gust can hit a Pokémon during the semi-invulnerable turns of Fly and Bounce, and if it does, will deal double the damage.

Generation III onwards

Gust is now affected by King's Rock, except in Generation IV.

Starting in Generation IV, when used on a Pokémon during the semi-invulnerable turn of Fly or Bounce, the power is now doubled instead of the damage being doubled (resulting in virtually the same effect). Starting in Generation V, this also applies to Sky Drop.

Gust can hit non-adjacent opponents in Triple Battles.

Gust is a wind move.

Generation VIII

Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Gust's PP was reduced from 35 to 25.
