Fire Blast (Japanese: だいもんじ Daimonji) is a mostly accurate and very highly-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I. Its Japanese name, Daimonji, refers to Gozan no Okuribi.
Effect
Generation I
Fire Blast does damage and has a 9.7% chance of burning the opponent.
Fire Blast can't burn an opponent that has a Substitute or already has a major status ailment.
Generation II and on
Same as Generation I, but with a 10% chance of burn instead.

Pokémon
Magmar. Magmar spits flames from its mouth which take the shape of the kanjī 大(Dai).
- Used by Blaine's Magmar from Riddle Me This to Volcanic Panic.
Arcanine. Largely the same as Magmar's.
- Used by Pete Pebbleman's Arcanine in Fire and Ice.
Octillery. Octillery shoots a large blast of fire out of its mouth.
- Used by Harley's Octillery in Thinning the Hoard!.
Zangoose. Zangoose takes a deep breath. A star-shaped fire blast is then released from its mouth.
- Used by a Blackbelt's Zangoose in Glory Blaze.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Charizard uses Fire Blast as part of Pokémon Trainer's Final Smash; Triple Finish.
